In case it helps anyone, I've started using pet pads to catch any remaining water from lines when I'm working on them. They don't get in the way like a bucket or container and have a waterproof bottom that towels don't have providing better protection. The ones I use can hold up to 8 cups of liquid, so they're generally more than sufficient. They're also great if you have a linear roof leak rather than a drip or other situation where a bucket isn't practical.

@leahrowe847 They really are! I keep them in the house, car, and tool bag. They were particularly handy when I made some homemade snow globes as well! I've even just flipped them over and used them to "mop" with when I had nothing else handy to deal with a significant spill.

I watch all your videos. I am a widow and have to everything myself. Just replaced a facet but did have to ask for help to loosen facet plate. Did the rest of it myself. I also just replaced a water filter under house. People says you are 74 you can’t do that. I say, I just did. Wish I had seen your video first. Good luck on 50K.

This was so helpful! I don’t need a new faucet, BUT my sprayer was loose and there was a gap in the seal to the sink where water could leak down. I was intimidated by everything going on under the sink. Watched this, then went right under there and tightened it. Such a small thing but it made my heart so happy as your lovely wife would say. ❤

    Thank you so much Tom!
I would like to share with others to be prepared if you live in an older home or a home with hard water or scale. My son and I attempted this recently and it took us two hours to figure out how to get the plastic holders that are used to tighten up underneath and hold the faucet in place off! Once we got them off it only took about another 20 minutes to complete the process of installation.
Inevitably, we had to literally cut the plastic off. Otherwise we would’ve never gotten them off. We had tried every tool and vinegar and lubricants, etc… and nothing worked. We were not confident that we could cut them off until we watched a RUclips and that’s what that person had to do and so then we moved forward and cut them. 😂
    Good grief!

We had that experience. I gave up because I was afraid to break something. We had a guy working on fixing something at our place and so I asked him if he would replace the faucet for us. He had the same problem. He said, well, you gotta get it out of there anyway. The sink won't break, just that dang plastic. Break the plastic. I felt so dumb paying someone. Oh well, at least it was done right.

This was so informative to watch Tom! My question is why plumbers/teflon tape isn't used on any threads (something I was told decades ago)... I'm guessing because that's an old practice not necessary these days. So Tom, while I can't bend and get under the sink (nor do I want to) after watching your video, I can definitely tell someone else how to do the job! LOL🤪Thanks again and keep being AWESOME!!!

First rule: check to be sure all the parts are in the kit before you start! We bought a faucet from a big box store that appeared to be new (with strapping around the outside of the box), only to find it was a returned item. It was missing the mounting nut and the instruction sheet! We took it back, got a replacement, and I asked the cashier cut the strapping and open the box before we paid for it. This faucet had also been returned, but all the parts were in the box along with the instruction sheet. And...Use a pillow or foam block to protect your neck from the edge of the cabinet.

Love that you're doing these videos. I'm single so I have to do a lot of repairs myself. My brother had installed my kitchen faucet some years ago, unfortunately the pull out sprayer broke, not his fault but the actual material. Also unfortunately he lives far far away in TX and probably will not be back to visit anytime soon. And triple unfortunately I cannot physically get under my sink, and lay upside down, etc to replace it myself. I also have a broken garbage disposal so I now have the chore of finding someone to replace both, and a broken outside faucet (that is welded on). But I love watching your videos for those Justin Case times I may be able to do something myself. 😄
