4 ounces (113 g) unsalted butter softened to room temperature
4 ounces (113 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs room temperature
8 ounces (224 g) sourdough starter discard
2 ounces (56 g) buttermilk room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla
13 ounces (364 g) All-Purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
32 ounces (896 g) lard (or vegetable oil, canola oil, peanut oil or shortening) for frying

I made these today they are absolutely delicious didn't have lard but crisco worked great. Thanks for sharing. I had been geeking to make these donuts so glad I did it's a great way to use the discard.

You have baking powder with two different measurements in the recipe. I’m guessing one is baking soda but I don’t want to get them wrong or mixed up. Could you tell me which one is which? Thanks! Can’t wait to make it!
Lard is actually very good for you. Skip the vegetable oils.
*Lard from a farm without any added ingredients.

Lard is WAY healthier than those nasty seed oils.😮😮 especially pasture-raised lard, like I'll be using from our home-raised pigs.
