    I like how you actually showed the hybridization of luring and free shaping. Much easier to understand than from an hour long conceptual "talk". Thanks.

    Yessssss! Glad I found you doing this Andy. I have a similar exercise I use to feed my whippet - 2 bowls, 1 cone. Each bowl either side of you and start by dropping food in the bowl when they just look at the bowl. Then introduce going around the cone. Gradually move cone further away so understanding is solid. Can then swap cone for anything! Jump, tunnel, whatever. Amazing mental work out to have to go away from the food to access it

    free shaping is such e great method makes the dog more excited because he ''invented'' the exercsise.. Some times its frustrating for the trainer and the dog but with patience and good timing it can be really great! loved the video as always!

    I think the way you did it was the best way. Show first and then let them figure out what you want. I definitely believe if they have to start thinking and figuring it out, they learn the activity or exercise way better. As you said, patience is key.
