I inherited this switch (4850GTS) and I don't have a password for it. Must I do a factory reset and blow away the entire configuration? Not sure if there is a backup.

is there a default login name ,i was made a new password but don't change a user name, and there is a problem with logon ??
if you just change the password then it will only ask for the password
how was the switch hooked up to your computer? serial cable?
i just bought 2 of these second hand and cant factory reset them, can anyone help?
wrcwrcaldas yes indeed you need serial cable if you don't know the IP address along with username and password
