IMHO this is the best channel for IT training. So easy to follow and understand all of the teachers. Straight to the point and no fluff like other training platforms (cough cough CBT Nuggets take note)
Thank you sir for sharing. I've watched a couple of "how to reset cisco switch password" videos. This one was the best. To the point, understandable english and results !!
Good video, thank you, I needed this! Could not get into the switches I obtained, now I can start clean!- Actually also found out while playing with the baudrate settings that a Cisco 3560V2 console port operates on 9600 baud, for those who are wondering the same as me.
Please make a video on how to configure a few ports switch so that the beginners like me can learn about how to configure a switch. Much appreciated. ❤️

I have an issue for reset my switch 3560,I have access to the flash mood in my switch but I don’t have the possibility to write the command line or nothing to my keyboard
you got a video on setting this up and getting the web interface to work after resetting it? I can console to it fine, but cant get the web interface to work.
I have a 3650 switch that will not do as described in your video. It will not let me delete the vlan.dat file and the config.text does not exist, Upon entering "boot" I receive an error that the boot file does not exist. Any suggestions will be appreciated
I've just started to learn about Cisco, and the first challenge I have is to reset a SW3650. Anytime I try to delete it, it says "read only file system", I do not have the su password. Any help on this one?
You need to connect with tera term. You'll need a rollover cable, or serial to rj45/USB cable as well. This cannot be done with a normal ethernet cable and/or command prompt on your pc.
What do you do if you forgot your secret/enable password. I did this, but removing the config does not reset the secret password hence I can't get past enable even if my config is now clean.
When I type the "enable" command I get (Unknown cmd: enable) Can anyone tell me why I am not able to change to privileged mode "switch#" prompt when I type enable? What would cause it to not recognize the enable command?
If you have putty installed on your computer. Connect your console cable to the switch and computer then start putty. When the programe opens clik serial. Then you need to enter what serial port you are connected to and then press enter. To know what serial port to use if you use a USB console cable. Open device manager then look at what ports (COM and LPT) are active before and after you plug in your console cable to the computer. The one that pops up when you plug it in is the right one. For example I start putty and im connected to port com3 I press serial then type com3 and then press enter. A command window will apear and the video tells you the rest. Good luck With your switch mate.

@@ITProTv Sir I have done registration on your website. Those CCNA courses are paid one. How can someone pay if he is already unemployed? 😞😞😞

Thanks a lot. Great video.
hi im kinda new at this. what program are you using to communicate with switch? is it like Putty Kitty or TeraTerm?
you got a video on setting this up and getting the web interface to work after resetting it? I can console to it fine, but cant get the web interface to work.
Did you figure how to access the web ui?

Exact same issue here on a 3650, have tried several google suggestions but none work. did you find a resolution for this?
would this be the same if it was a 4 switch stack ? Would you only do it on the master or would you need to do it on each switch
I believe "write erase", will delete any config on the switch and leave it as default.
Thank you for an amazing video. Could I follow the same steps to reset a Cisco 2960 switch or are there any major differences?
Hi, from experience it is the same process
Each switch may be a little different since they are different hardware resets. So i'd suggest looking it up, Cisco hardware is well documented! :)
you don't need serial the Mac termnail will work just fine too
I can't even get to the terminal...how can I do anything from the commandline??
You need to connect with tera term.
You'll need a rollover cable, or serial to rj45/USB cable as well.
This cannot be done with a normal ethernet cable and/or command prompt on your pc.
thank you very much
Perfecto!!!

Ever find a solution to this?
Just wondering when reset to factory defaults do the SFP ports default to open?
Yes, when you factory reset, the ports will revert to being on by default.
I have a switch...given from someone else ..... I don't have the pleasure of type Enable.... It ask for password..... how do I reset? Switch 4948?
To bad this cannot be done to a Cisco 3650. The flash is only READ and cannot be changed.
The problem is there is no info on how to use putty or what to do with it or troubke shooting steps to set up putty.
I cant figure out how to get to serial port or get past putty log in.
???? 😞

Connect your console cable to the switch and computer then start putty.

Good luck With your switch mate.
serial is not for free 🙆
i can barely hear you over my switch running lol
no paper clip? and who remembers the ethernet cable boots holding down that mode button..... silly switches!
Exactly! No paper clip needed on any working switch today. Thanks for tuning in!
