  • Mt. San Jacinto is the second tallest peak in Southern California at 10,834 ft. There are several routes/trails to the 10,834 foot summit. We wanted to hike from the Devil’s Slide trail from Humber Park in Idyllwild, as this route overlaps a section with PCT and is a new route for us.

I did Cactus 2 Clouds shortly after this. All the snow is gone above Wellmans divide. I’ve never done Devils Slide, I will have to try it. I’ve done c2c, Deer Springs loop and Marion. It is a fun place to hike. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on C2C, very hard core. We have done C2C a few years back, some route findings but enjoyed the restaurant and cable car on our way down. You also summited via Marion Mountain Trail 2E14? 5.6 miles with 4500 ft gain. (I just googled it but never done it). Devil's Slide trail will be a walk in the park for you. We actually wanted to do a lollipop loop around Marion Mountain, so we arrived the trailhead around 7am. Did not know we needed permits. Also heard there's still a lot of slippery snow on PCT, so we just did out and back. Thank you for watching and leaving comments and shared the other routes. It certainly is a very popular mountain.

Marion has lots of roots/rocks the first couple of miles and really isn’t that enjoyable. Devils slide looked way better. I’ve been on part of Devils slide to peak as part of the Deer Springs loop. I really love the view going down from Wellmans divide and the two ciengas to get water. Looking at your other videos, you two are very accomplished hikers, I look forward to checking out other videos.
