Journey to the Summit of South Sister Mountain. Stunning Views Descending

Join me virtually to enjoy the journey to the summit of South Sister, Oregon.
South Sister, standing at 10,363 feet, is the third tallest mountain in Oregon and the highest of the famous Three Sisters chain. The summit trail is a steep, long, and rugged climb, but it does not require technical climbing skills. We were there on June 30th 2024 when most trail is covered in snow.
From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with unparalleled views. To the north, you’ll see the neighboring Sisters (Middle Sister and North Sister). The southern view includes Broken Top and nearby Mount Bachelor.

Thanks for giving some beta on conditions. I'm looking to summit in next week or so. You started at 6:00am. When did you get back to the car?

@toddp765 Alltrail shows moving time 9.15 hours, total time 11 hours. South Sister is beautiful. My first summit was mid July with a lot less snow. Enjoy the hike and the stunning views.
