Thank God for Randy. Ozzy voice was never great and he had horrible stage presence. Randy was responsible for his solo career just like Sabbath was responsible for initially giving him a musical career.
@@jimmyb267his voice is unique which is why I like it but not technically "good" and yeah he doesn't have very good stage presence but randy, and Rudy and the set carry him
Yeah I've seen other bootleg videos of this exact proformance and for some reason they nowhere near looked as good of quality as this video so this was a real treat for me .Ozzy even said it "everyone was paying attention and looking at Randy .this is no disrespect to Ozzy cause he actually knew and understood the huge stage presence Rhoads processed while playing live .it was just impossible not to be fixated on Randy .I was one of the lucky and blessed to have got to witness the genius that was RR .I couldn't take my eyes off him the entire set .I was up front on the floor right up against the railing to the stage not 10 ft from him .he was ousing with confidence and was just the total embodiment of what a Rockstar looked and sounded like and had this unique ability to connect with the audiences letting them not just to hear his music but also feel every note .he played with so much feeling and emotion that it was undeniably a attribute that very few musicians processed Page and Hendrix being a couple others that come to mind .Randy was just a shining star that stood out like the North Star in the nite sky .all of the other guitarist that played in Ozzys band after Randy's death while very talented I admit but they just couldn't be compared to Rhoads especially when talking about playing live and even more so his songwriting skills .that was where he surpassed everyone I can think of .with MAYBE the exception of Jimmy Page .Out of all the players who I saw live over my lifetime from practically every established and successful 70s and 80s Rock and Metal Band (quite literally) none shined as Brite as RANDALL WILLIAM RHOADS . LOVED AND NEVER FORGOTTEN
this is so great! The Palladium show was in May of '81, I saw them a few months later in Grand Rapids. This is incredible to see this footage. Thankyou so much.
I was at this show.what was looney is there were two shows on the same night(7 30 and 11 30) I'm guessing the doings of sharon. I saw the early show. friend of mine went to both shows and wasn't able to catch a bus till morning. but it was worth it
1981 was when The Legend of the Lone Ranger came out and that was part of Randy's solo was William Tell Overture. Also country was big in general because of Burt Reynolds' Smokey and the Bandit and Dallas on TV which Ozzy later parodied in The Ultimate Sin music video.
Just epic. This and the After Hours show are about the closest you're ever going to get to a pro shot Randy/Ozzy gig.
Thank God for Randy. Ozzy voice was never great and he had horrible stage presence. Randy was responsible for his solo career just like Sabbath was responsible for initially giving him a musical career.
Keep the bloody camera on me! The band's named Ozzy not Randy for Fucks sake...
What an ego..
@@jimmyb267 He looks spec-ed...

God Bless Ozzy Osbourne! ^v^.......................
Ozzy sounds great. Is there high quality audio of this show?
He’d have a vault full of Randy stuff
Setlist?
This sounds alot like the tribute album.
Zero vocal strain, restriction OR failure all concert long. WOW!!! He usually blows his voice out halfway through his set
SETLIST???!!!

Wish this Ozzy band could've had more years together those two albums still hold up today
Amazing They set the tone for a whole new genre of music. Randy is the greatest
