    Jordan, I agree. Young men should be able to appreciate world class fishing like that, because they are physically able to fight them. Although when I was 36 I had a summer run steelhead kick my ass because I had severe tendonitis in my right forearm and it hurt too much to apply pressure on that fish. Now at 71 I'd be lucky to reel in a kokanee because I hurt all over from arthritis and "you name it"!

    Wow such an amazing episode. Marlin is an incredible boss man for giving these young guys a trip of a lifetime! This is how you build loyal long time dedicated employees. Jordan has such a good heart, to include these guys on a trip to AK with his girl, show them the ropes and give them a lifetime experience they will remember forever. I saw an episode earlier where he won a fishing pole in a tournament and gave it to a young girl. Love how the guys at Addicted include the younger generation, including their kids on some of these trips, and pass down the knowledge and ignite a passion for something to keep them focused on a straight path and away from possibly taking the wrong path at their age. Hopefully they realize how lucky they are to work for such a cool company and be part of such a knowledgeable amazing group of guys. It definitely makes me want to take a trip to AK to go after some salmon! Really wish they busted out fly rods on some of these trips, as once you start fly fishing it’s hard to appreciate rod and reel fishing or want to pick one back up.

      Just so you you you can’t keep native steelhead and this region which encompasses all southeast Alaska is all native, and by the way these aren’t the same smelt you get in the northwest, these are called hooligan, or the natives call them candle fish because they have so much oil they actually would boil them in a large pot and skim the oil off the surface and you it to light their lamps, no crap! They are delicious!😉👍

    I have lived up here in Alaska the past 45 years mostly along our southern gulf coast many years guiding, most outside of Alaska don’t realize that all our steelhead along this region are are native! Plus I hope the young guys on their first Ak trip just fished one the most famous steelhead rivers anywhere! Most longtime Alaskan’s haven’t fished the Situk! Adduced guys I remember your first trip there a few years back and coho fishing there in the fall, I told you then you have to fish kodiak island in mid August to mid September! It has the largest coho on average in Alaska, probably the world, 14-20 coho are pretty common, I’ve seen even some 20-22 lb fish, plus where else do you get to “literally fish alongside “ the biggest brown bears on earth??? Bring extra shorts! Addicted crew, trust me, you gotta do a show on kodiak island!!!😉👍

    • @TroyOttosen-jg7tt
      @TroyOttosen-jg7tt 7 месяцев назад

      You can only fish it with sleds with jet because it’s so shallow, you see the vid you would know this plus this is a remote river, like most along coastal Alaskan rivers you can’t walk most of them, the vegetation is to thick, plus there aren’t nice easy walking trails like you have in the lower 48, lol at the drone shots, river views along the banks, etc… you have no idea how it is here in Alaska.😳🤣
