    Not only dont leave the cabin a pig sty, treat your steward with respect. They are not mind readers! Want fresh towels? Leave them on the floor in the shower, dont hang up. Hung up indicates they are fine to use again. Please and thank you go a long way. If you like towel animals, mention it. Need ice daily? Ask nicely. That goes for all crew. If you have a problem, discuss it calmly. Getting angry solves nothing. Kindness and patience return better results than screaming and name calling. Dont treat them as your hired help at home. You dont sign their paycheck! (I would hope even if you did, you would not treat them like you own them) This shouldn't even need to be said yet, it does. Dont be that person we all shake our heads about. Be a kind human. Your experience will be fantastic if you do. You reap what you sow. Would you want to do your best to help someone who was a rude punk? I think not. Just be nice people!!

    So many cabins as we pass them in the hallways as we are leaving look just like that cabin in the video. So many people look at that and say oh thats disgusting and their just as bad if not worse. I really belive 80% of the people who sail leave their cabins a mess. I see it even on day 3 passing cabins with doors open looks like slobs living in their crap All over the room. People just don't care they figure well I'm outa here wont be seeing them again and leave with no extra tip. If your a slob and you know you are and your gona leave your room like at your house just at least put $20 in an envelope for your steward. Its the right thing to do!!

    I think thats the worst job on carnival (room steward) cleaning people's rooms and toilets. They deserve extra tips big time.

      I think it’s probably the worst job on most ships, but I can understand why you would say Carnival, can you imagine the 3 day booze 🥃 cruises?
      Thanks for watching

      NO. You are objectively wrong. They deserve FAIR WAGES.... They deserve to be properly compensated by the cruise line. I am so fed up with being called upon to tip more and more, in order to offset the abysmally low wages that these companies pay these hard working, underpaid people.... All whilst their CEO's are being compensated 100's of times the average employee's wage, AND receiving larger and larger bonuses. Enough Is enough.

      @pullcarsmelly8051 No you are objectively wrong. Your probably not from america. These big companies are not going to help them they never do. There their helping "you" regardless who's paying them. Stop being so cheap and help them out a bit. Noone is asking you to hand them over hundreds of dollars. Forty or fifty bucks isn't going to hurt noone that can afford to cruise. What do you do when you order a pizza I'm guessing nothing for the delivery guy. Go ahead and take your stand because you'll be pretty much by yourself. Most people in the USA tip. We believe in rewarding people for a job well done.

    Fantastic list, I work in a hotel on land and am very impressed you mentioned the two comments about respecting your cabin steward with regards to tidiness and more importantly in my book using dnd or privacy signees ( especially during the day time operational hours of the vessel. Which I would roughly say are 0700-2100 on a cruise ship.)
    I can absolutely agree with prior experience that is incredibly embarrassing for staff to inadvertently stumble across private activity during the course of our work day which would otherwise be prevented with a singe - another tip if your cabin has a privacy lock on your side of the door please use it if crew or in my case hotel staff accidentally knock on the wrong door if you’ve locked that lock on your door our keys won’t let us in so we might disturb u but there won’t be any embarrassing situations because as everyday staff we won’t have access to unlock a privacy locked door ( or that’s how the system works in hotels I’ve worked in anyhow .)
    David.

    How sad that these things even need to be mentioned. Good manners, decency and etiquette seem to not exist anymore. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

    Am i allowed to bring a curling iron?

    • @JaysonJudson
      @JaysonJudson  7 месяцев назад

      Every cruise we have been on my wife has brought her iron or curlers…..and they are allowed (we have been on 6 different lines)
      I would double check the cruise line you are going on….just google for example Royal Caribbean prohibited list.
      Thanks for watching.

    Tip# 1 dont be stupid
    Tip#2 dont cruise Carnival
    Tip#3 Dont get all your cruise informational from Social media learn how to use the cruiselines websites

    • @pullcarsmelly8051
      @pullcarsmelly8051 6 месяцев назад

      THIS. Avoid carnival, royal caribbean and NCL. Budget "Booze cruises" attract the lowest common denominators. Never had chair hog issues on Oceania.... Just saying.

    Every thing you said is fact, but you could remind people of the cost of their foolishness. I’ve been cruising since 1974 when it was so different and enjoyable….now its a people thinking they are privileged and filmed for life if there foolishness for family.
