this is so so helpful. I'm running out of ideas over here hahaha
okay hold on, you didn't like the gnocchi after you baked it?? it looked amazing
Haha no I loved it - I didn't like the addition of the breadcrumbs lol
Hey friends I hope you like today's video, I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. As always sending lots of love and hope your way xx
Just because it’s “questionably old” or past the date doesn’t mean it’s not good or inedible, and that’s very important to remember. Here in Norway a lot of our products say “best before *insert date*, but often good after” and I love that! We are encouraged to look, smell, and taste (and of course stop if any of those are not good) everything before throwing it out instead of going by the dates on the packaging in order to reduce food waste ☺️ We also don’t have sell by dates, but best before as I said or on some things it’s also a pretty firm use by, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad after that date either 😄 I love seeing your creativity!
Immy you have made 5-Star Cuisine out of “questionably old” ingredients... this makes you a “Cheffy Chef” in my books!! Just thought I’d say that we had “Immy Burgers” for dinner last night. I made our favourite ones... “Beetroot-Lentil Burgers”... cuz we have beets that are dying to break out of the root cellar. I, too, found some ancient edamame beans that were playing Hide & Seek in the freezer... perfect accompaniment for our burgers. Mission accomplished girl, you have given me a week’s worth of inspiration for cooking, and a life time’s worth of inspiration for everything else. As always, thank-you so much for all that you do for us. I’m pretty sure I speak for others in this community when I say how much we appreciate you and love you!!! ❤️
Agree, and when she says she is not a cheffy chef...I am like - she cooks more than I do, and I kinda consider myself a cheffy chef :D
@@alinabelousova Immy seems pretty cheffy chef to me... especially when it comes to creativity in the kitchen. I’m pretty boring, comparatively speaking... but after watching her videos I feel such amazing inspiration to try new things.
Me: I should eat more beans but I'm just not sure how to cook them up and make them more appealing
Immy: *makes black bean hummus*
Me: O:
Hahahaha oh you're so sweet
I feel like my eating habits go from eating easy kinda crap food too making beautiful and healthy things from scratch, such is the depression struggle. This inspired me as I’ve been in a bit of food low. Oh and by the way, try adding your miso after you’ve finished cooking your soup. Miso is probiotic and the flavour is delicate and fragrant, when you boil it in cooking you kill the active and healthy culture and destroy a lot of the flavour. It really just needs hot water to melt and that’s it! 💕
Girl you need to cook in bigger pots and pans! I thought you were not going to be able to mix that last one up.
Thanks for the inspo, I've been doing the same, raiding my fridge and cupboard to see what I can come up with and use up as much as possible.
I'm challenging myself to eat what's in my fridge and freezer before I go back to the grocery store. I think it's been 2 weeks (Maybe 3. What is time anymore?) and I'm getting close. I'm gonna have to get creative for the next couple of days until my Imperfect Foods order comes in. But that's the fun in the challenge!
That's so great!! xx
Your comment made me laugh. Lol. Are you saved, by the way? If not, I want you to know that Jesus loves you. All we need to do is believe that He died so our sins can be forgiven. When you confess your sins, you will be saved! Love you!!
“What is time anymore?”... that made me chuckle... good one!!!! It seems as if one day just melds into the next, and time is endless. Great comment, thanks for that, and good luck with with your fridge/freezer project.
The commentary on this is golden Immy. Hilarious. Thanks.
heh heh heh xx
If anyone is looking for food inspiration, Mina Rome does TONS of recipe videos, all vegan and fairly simple! ☺️
We've made a list of everything in the fridge and highlighted things that needs eating first - this week's plan is to not waste any veg (and use the random bag of buckwheat I found in the cupboard!)
Just a quick tip for people who may not know: Always start off root vegetables (or any veggies that grow underground ) in cold water and any veggies that grow above ground in hot or boiling water. :). Great video! Looks delicious. Amazing what we can make just from fridge and pantry items we might have let go to waste unfortunately.
Your recipes show real creativity - don't underestimate your skill in combining flavours and ingredients, and bringing a recipe together :)
Your lazy leftover meals are so much better than my fully stocked kitchen meals. Getting major inspiration over here thank you!!
This is inspirational. I usually make soup, stew or curry out of my elderly veg and dubious condiments, but you’ve given me some great ideas here. Hope you’re well. Xxx
Loved this style of video. Casual and beautiful! Also been wanting to try out hummus on bread for an open face sandwich, and now I have to do it! Thanks!
In our household my bf usually has a recipe in mind when he shops. And when I shop, I just buy random veggies. He cooks first, makes his recipe dish. Usually Delish! And the next few days I cook using ingredient we happen to have left over. Results vary, but at least I get to be creative and really use up all the leftover ingredients! Basically because I'm lazy, planning is not my thing, but it works.
Loved this video. Love using up stuff that's been sitting in the cupboard in a while, although that's more of a thing of the past, but I know how satisfying it is and prompts you to be creative. Peanut butter in the noodles, or in everything - my thing! One of the best videos I watched from your content. And I think your parents cupboards are perfectly fit for you to show what can be done with those "bought and forgot" items in your cupboard. Super-duper video.
We have a Joke at Home i am Team " best before" and my Bf ist Team "deathly after" 😂
haha I love this xx
It's so much fun to try and make meals out of what you already have in your kitchen. I'm always surprised at what I am able to make. What camera do you use to film Immy? Thanks for sharing!
AH yes it is ! I use a canon 5D xx
i love your channel
its very calming
ill just put it on while im doing things around my home
Love love LOVE videos like this! Trying to eat sustainability during this time is difficult but you’ve inspired me to get creative! 💕
This is SUCH a good video! I am the laziest of all lazy students, and while I do love all those fancy vegan recipes, I literally cannot be bothered to make them, like, ever. I open the fridge, grab whatever's in there, put it in a frying pan and that's it.
So I enjoyed this recipe video on a very visceral level! Thanks, Immy, please do upload more of these videos.
Thanks queen ❤️
This did inspire me to clean out the cupboards and the back of my freezer lol. Thank you!! Everything looked delish 😋
Good work! I am also trying to stretch the time in between grocerie shopping, both because we want to save money and also trying to not go to the shop to often with situation beeing as it is. It is amazing how long the fridge have been 'empty' but we are still having great meals! But will soon have to shop again I start to long for fresh veggies after have been having potatoes and stuff from the freezer for some days now.
I tried your oat milk recipe: super easy and delicious! Definitely making it again during quarantaine in stead of running to the shop.
Looks great. Always good to get ideas. My daughter loves Ramen so definitely a go to here. Thanks xx
Great inspiration! I need to do this at my house!
Really needed to see this video today!! These dishes look so good ahh! I have been struggling a little bit to make meals that feel simple and easy and this has inspired meee to rethink what I have in my house right now 😊
Thankyouuu for posting this hehe, I hope you are staying safe! 💚💚
You are so modest regarding your cooking skills. But I love your recipes❤You are very good in cooking!!
The salad with the salsa looks yummy will try this one thanks for the ideas Immy 💜😊
Perfect video right now! :) My partner and I are working from home at the moment and we need to make lunch at home so all ideas are very welcome.
One of my favorite videos you have posted 💛 seriously enjoyed this style of video so much and inspired me to be creative, resourceful and conscious of my health during this weird time
Ah thank you! Xx
These look so easy & so delicious. Thanks for the inspiration!
Loved this style of video!
im so motivated to clean out my fridge and cupboards now! my moms had asparagus and sprouts in there for about a week.
I can't wait to make the noodle dishes ... Been craving some noods after a week of toast and marmite for lunch
Thank your for the recipes, I try to eat a lot plant base food this year.. I will try it soon 😋🙌
I absolutely loved this video! Actually I am really bad at following recepies, so this video just gave me a lot of inspriation and also motivation to go through all this old food that is sitting in my pantry and freezer :) Thank you so so much! I'll be the first to watch it if you post another video like this ;)
Love the inspiration, thanks a bunch ❣️
Really loved this one ❤️ thank you for always helping us feel better Imm!
Great ideas! I wanna try to make black beans hummus 😍 With lots of tahini as well, yum!
I love every single one of your videos!
ahhh thank you so much xxx
Great video as always Immy 💕
Love these types of videos
Glad I found your channel. You're lovely! Thanks for sharing these ideas.
Loved it! Totally things I would make! Great inspiration and I think you do a great job of putting ingredients together even if you don’t think you’re a chefie chef 👩🍳.
Hi Immy, I love your style of cooking of which I do alot myself of just throwing thingst together that usually need to use up or just what you know goes with it. They make the best meals & you're not waisting anything. ;)
I love watching your videos and seafood that you cook I am not a vegan person I do eat chicken and all that stuff but I love your videos and just wanted to say that you're very interesting to watch on the internet
I loved this video and hope you will make more of these ❤❤
Looks like my typical cooking style hehe looks delicious! great job using what you had at hands! ;)
Your curls are giving me life
Definitely got some motivation thanks hopefully I can last a bit longer before going to the supermarket.
You stay safe as well. Appreciate your video. 👍
Thank you so much, great recipes you're a star. Love the ideas. Lyndon S.
Omg is this how you make miso?! This is amazing!
Yey! Thank you for the inspiration :)
I love open sandwiches so much. Yours looks so wholesome and yummy
The Tuesday soup looked exquisite. When you go shopping get some tempeh to add into your diet. Lots of protein. I'm lazy and toast it in the toaster on high. But it is good fresh or fried.
And to learn exactly the nutrients of what you are eating I use and love Cronometer on line or the app.
Cheers from a Connecticut vegan on self lockdown. Nice vid.
What a lovely vid! Make more please. 🥰
Hi Immy it just goes to show you that you can throw any veggies together and come up with a delicious meal. Thanks ❤
Did these items need eating up?
Not from what I heard
Not sure what would give you that idea 😂
Thank you! Because of this video I went through withering veggies in my fridge and I let my imagination fly. I ended up with the dinner for two and I'm kinda proud of myself now. Thanks for giving me motivation! :D
That's awesome xx
Where did you get your sweater? It looks so cosy!
Not at all related to this video, but I do hope that you and your boyfriend are still able to make living together a real thing this year, I know that was your goal last year.
Related to this video, I am slowly working through our frozen leftovers for lunches and doing a pantry freezer challenge in my household, trying to use up all of the things we have on hand already.
Thank you that's so kind of you to think of us - we honestly have no idea but it doesn't look very likely :( that's great about the frozen stuff good idea xx
Everything looks so mummy!
Tahini does make everything better 😂😂
Thank you for the video and the inspirations!
Lovely video as always :)
Those crispy onions are great in vegan "meatballs" because they make everything taste more savoury 👍
Omg yuuuuuum
Being extra because your semi motivated is my life right now, and sometimes halfway through so.ething I lose motivation
Love this concept! And your creativity! And how much you say things are questionable. Lol definitely relatable haha
Glad I found this, I've been struggling with lunches. I think our actual struggle is that we never have leftovers no matter how much I feel like I'm making! I'm only cooking for two lol but there's just never any veg leftover so I get tired of so much cooking :( like am I really doing something wrong or are we just eating too much?!
One of your best videos yet, my dear! I want to make everything! Now I have a video request ... something about how to cook with tofu. I really love it, but I have tried to cook with it and failed. The consistency was all wrong. If I'm eating out at a restaurant that offers tofu, I always get it as my protein. Do you have a cook book? Or maybe you could recommend a few to me. I am not vegan, but I do eat vegan meals quite a bit. I think I would eat more if they were as good as yours. Again, kudos on this video!
I have that seaweed 😱. It’s from the Cornish seaweed company. And def needs using up.
I looooove your videos!!!
fyi cooking sesame oil really diminishes the flavor
usually it’s added after most/all the cooking is done
Working on cleaning out my miscellaneous ingredients from my cupboard as well. Great minds think alike! Love your videos!
wow I wish I just randomly "found" fresh veggies in the fridge every day... whenever I check I just find some mustard and maybe a mouldy lemon lol
🤤🤤🤤 it all looks sooo gooooood!!
the first one looks like scrambled eggs with greens and mushrooms on toast.
When you're making something like hummus, it is better to use either garlic powder or roasted garlic, as it doesnt have that acidic flavour that raw garlic has
Roasted garlic would give it a really lovely flavour !! I wouldn’t use powder though
what kind of oil do you use for frying?
Yum!
You do better than I do. I'm a hopeless cook tho going whole food planet based I have jumped in to learn to cook.
Lovely! But I are wondering how people just find things in the back of the pantry, the cupboard, or the fridge. Sounds like Narnia ;)
How do you buy tofu? Isnt it in plastic package? I am just asking to learn so i can do the same
What cookbook is that :D I already had three vegan cookbooks: Harriet’s , wholesome culture’s and another. But I just went around buying ebook vegan cookbooks from bench herbivore and happy healthy vegan!
"Stirry Stir" ❤
Great video and very interesting! For me at least 😂
Why was the breadcrumbs a mistake?
I thought "hummus" means "chickpeas" in Arabic, from where the dip gets its name. I really find it strange to hear: black beans hummus 😂
Anyway, love your channel ☺️
Hey these all look great but I saw in another video that you were trying to be minimal with your recipes(mainly eating just beans and legumes), do you not do that anymore?
Tuesday was soup-er...
You should not boil miso….✌🏼
I am sitting in my room, having covid and i cant use our kitchen. Your video made me wanna cook. Now i am sad because i need to wait 5 more days to come out of my room to get to cooking🥲
Would love to see what I eat in a day videos or more videos like this 😁 also your meal prep videos I LOVE!
