I know this draft was probably very flustrating.
I think it's completely reasonable to feel frustrated. But I wanted to say thank you, Numont, for uploading these types of drafts.
I know I struggle to keep from getting salty with those types of draws/ games. It for sure helps to see others also get the magic RNG nat 1.

This is my experience on arena 9/10 times, I cant explain it. It is literally bad for my mental health so I had to uninstall. I draft at my local lgs every Friday night and it feels so much more enjoyable and balanced somehow.
Nummy is experiencing 85% of my MH3 draft experience! This draft feels worse than most others i've done.

For real, I been having a rough go at it lol. I’m lucky they had that bestow bug in the beginning that helped me get some gems back through complaints 😂
@@noteveryday unfortunately it looks like bloomburrow is gonna be typical r/w aggro beatdown dominated based on most of the spoiled cards so far. i hope im wrong but wiz/hasbro clearly just want games to end quickly and more gems to be purchased. sigh 😮💨

Bro, I'm convinced at this point matchmaking is based on card interaction. I remember when people including myself started noticing that whenever enchantments aren't even relevant if you run Loran of the Third Path or something that is enchantment removal somehow you start facing more people that play enchantments lol and whenever you play an off meta deck that plays an enchantment because no one will likely be playing enchantment removal somehow you meet all the enchantment removal players.

I played OG eldraine today, had a really cool B/G deck that was a bit slow and ended up playing against merfolk secret keeper - the deck multiple times in a row, always on the draw. made me feel similarly.
I opened an emrakul in sealed and was able to cast him twice for the win both times. Went 6-3on that sealed.
Good thing the redemption stream happened after this! Thanks for the content as always!
Does anyone know if a draft token, like the one you can get from the hideaway, will work for the upcoming mtg arena DIRECT draft?

Truther Nummy arc 😢
I am becoming a matchmaking truther as well. So many times I draft a wacky deck that has like some very specific set of cards and I end up playing in the mirror. Examples like in OTJ I drafted a double Simulacrum Synthesizer deck with tons of 3 mana "bad" artifacts and in match 1 I play against another Simulacrum Synthesizer deck, but then in match 2 I play against a deck that wasn't a Simulacrum Synthesizer deck, but was rather just a deck from a clearly new player who put a bunch of the "bad" 3 mana artifacts in their deck because they didn't really know what they were doing. (This was in bo3 too, which threw my truther hat on even harder)
this happened to me with powerbalance: the rr enchantment card. its not very good but i ended up with not enough playables so i was just like yeah wth. and of course my first opponent had it and played it right after i did turn 2. i draft nearly as much as nummy (alot) and i have never seen the card on either side of the table before or since. matchmaking is weighted somehow. id bet my life on it.

"I just wanna have fun, man." I hear ya, but what you experienced is what most of us face in Arena. Mana screw/flood, insane OP draws, shitty personal draws. All that with decks that look good when drafted. As you say so well: that's Magic, baby.
i like to say "thats arena, baby" since i play drafts in paper a decent amount too and its like they are 2 different games.

I agree with your sentiment on being matched with similar decks. When I played a slow deck every deck was a slow one, when I went boros rush down every opponent was a quick deck. Such awful matchmaking
The dark side of mh3 draft
In the second Eldrazi mirror match (ruclips.net/video/L8bowFVAOD0/видео.html), I think you could have chained the Crys into Glimpse and that would have let your Crys threaten to grow big enough to hold them back. Though would have meant delaying the Meddler further, and I can understand being cautious about putting all your spawn in one basket right after they cleared out the wumpus...

I tell you its how they programmed the game. Mirror matches are more frequent and the better your deck bet you'll be playing against just as good if not better decks. I blame the programmer.

This was how my first 3 drafts played out and im in bronze OP with nuts draws and all the rares and mythics i dont get it, drafting this format not so much fun.

Not outplayed but outdrafted... the problem with the eldrazi deck ist, that there is always a better eldrazi deck. and when you havn´t drafted removal you loose straight up against them
yes this is the big problem with matches outside of your draft pod. you can just happen to queue into a draft where almost complete garbage is opened across the table and then matched against people with the most insane draft pools.
Just convinced me not to play MH3 anymore. I thought it was just me that had these kind of opponents

I have decks of all color combinations and Arena tends to have me playing against decks with the same colors as mine... I change the deck and it happens again and again...there's something going on there...
Isn't trickster elk absolutely terrible? Was surprised you didn't cut it in favour of more impactful cards. That first game was miserable, absolutley any card would have been better than an elk there.
"there are plenty of rares or mythics you would take over Chrysalis" ... no you wouldnt, it has teh 5th highest winrate of ANY card of ANY rarity xD its crazy.
btw Amped Raptor has the 2nd highest and is an uncommon, the other cards above it are Phlage Ocelot and Guide

This proves the matchmaker uses deck strength to match up. Amazing deck = quick losses almost every time.
The fact that you're top 10 mythic and only playing against diamond/plat players is abysmal matchmaking. They're effectively drafting against bots. You're almost always going to have a worse deck.
