The content you produce is truly fantastic! How you’re able to remain calm when everyone else would’ve gotten so salty is what makes me come back here every day at 19h00 (Amsterdam) to watch Magic while I do our dishes. You’re the cool one! Thanks CGB, enjoy Amsterdam/Europe, it’s really great here!
if you think cgb doesnt get salty, you havent been a longtime watcher 😂
@@ashtheswan705 Ya, his salt is about the play patterns and decks that beat control instead of like everyone else who gets salty at control.
Mythic for sure, and about 25-30 mins per game, that's for sure as well
The mythic rank is the friends we make along the way LOL
yup...can play 5-8 games of RDW in the same amt of time and do it faster lol
That's an exaggeration. The longest game I've ever played with Azorius was a Control matchup that took 34 minutes, and that was an extreme outlier. Most of the others were just over 4 minutes on average. Games might *feel* long, for sure, but those long grindy games are the exception, not the rule. Aggro concedes almost as fast as it wins in general, so those games are not at all long.
Thank you CGB for taki g the time to put an intro and outro on each and every video. It is very comforting to have these videos as part of my daily routine.
I took some time away from arena, this year, and started playing again, blue white control of course, and I’ve had so much fun. I never stopped watching the daily cgb videos of course, thanks again and enjoy your vacation. Say hi to John Finkel for me if you see him.
Welcome back let's farm the aggro players like the reaper himself
@@goreobsessed2308 Ahhh, my favorite past time, making my brother and father regret giving me the blue and white cards when we first started playing in 95.
As someone who hates blue/white control how do you have fun playing it? I always ask my opponents how they can have fun playing something so slow but obviously they can't hear me so I won't get an answer. Decks I enjoy? Pretty much any kind of Domain, mono black, wolves, angels, mono green, soldiers, dinos, dragons
@NickTemperistic can't speak for everyone but I love long games and being able to beat my opponent without relying on lucky combos or synergies
@@goreobsessed2308 I mean 3 no more lies in a row seems like a pretty lucky combo to me
24:58 Dags? Oh dogs. Yeah I like dags. -Tommy (Stephen Graham) from Snatch
I couldn't help thinking of this quote here. 😅
this seems like a good pile for something like micromancer. That card cooks, and lets these decks be pretty crazy toolbox decks
Thanks for all the hard work on these videos. I look forward to watching every day
I've been playing CGB's UW mill for a while. This one is a great alternate. Little more on the offensive side with the tokens as apposed to holding them off with wipes
Somehow it’s not a Jeskai pile… where’s your patriotic pride CGB? 😂 have fun in Europe!
😂
The "I was bullied too much in highschool now I look for control" deck.
"Their draw was scripted perfect." It's almost like its not really random, but algorithm controlled. Oh wait! It is.
Oh wait! It's not.
But if you think it is, I'm curious what you think the shuffling algorithm actually does...? They determine on the fly which cards they think are good for the matchup and always give them to the opponent? (What about when you're the opponent?)
And a lot of these cards are being rotated out of standard soon, just FYI if you don't have these cards. Might not be a good investment
March, emperor, memories the 2 channel lands and a set of the dual lands maybe, hard to see on tablet. Oh and the fields. Most have decent replacements.
Wow Final Showdown is so good. Instant speed protect a creature and wipe the board is something I never thought I would see on a single card.
You only needed to play one red card to keep you jeski streak alive
No 4th of July deck what a sad day
YES! Always love to see your Azorius. Such a classic
You should’ve at least splashed red for lightning helix… it’s America Day!
You are /such/ a good UW player. I feel like I never see the plays you see
One thing about this game that amazes me is how many people just play boring net decks. How can you play that red deck or mono black for years on end? Doesn't it kill any satisfaction knowing you just copied someone? Covert seems to play a wide variety of decks which is cool, but the ladder is a different story.
UW Control loses Memory Deluge and Wandering Emperor to rotation. Big losses, but Farsight Ritual is a decent replacement for Memory Deluge. Can use map or Mirrex tokens to bargain it. Replacing Emperor on the other hand is tough.
UW control, or UWG control playing cornucopia and maybe 1x dryad's revival, I dunno, I think I like splashing for that liferock
took a break from mtg and i come back to see wandering emperor still in standard SHEEEESH
just a few more weeks... she will be missed :')
That last game was wonderful. Azorius Control players are those people that think they’re way smarter than they actually are.
Why not use farewell? Is it standard legal? It's essentially better or no?
at 6 mana, instant speed is better usually, and at 5 mana Sunfall is usually better. Very few times the other options are worth it for Sorcery speed or 1 turn later
@@playlistb3795 makes sense thanks. Many times I'm sitting with 5 mana and can't do nothing. I might switch to sunfall when I get home later.
I guess I am infected with blue-white fever. I so enjoy playing your control decks. I do not play them with your insight into what my opponent has and what he is going to do, but I do enjoy playing them. Thanks CGB!
Love the short intro
I think the only cards I'm playing that you aren't are red lands and Lightning Helix, haha
Oh, I'm giving this one a try. Full sets of all the utility lands is so hot
Not fair to be upset Golgari Midrange found good cards from a nearly empty hand - they used 4-5 map tokens and had draw selection. Part of why the deck is so dang annoying.
I'm looking forward to your take on this deck after the rotation!
This loses a lot after rotation so I'm curious what that will look like for UW.
I see final showdown I click
"Our wincon is here"
You mean you had no patience before drawing Mirrex?
I don't like/play control, and even I felt that game against Golgari
17:57 i still dont get why u simply didnt counter there, u had all the mana needed open to even counter 2 times in a row, and we knew oppo already used all of his counterspells and by far he didnt have any in hands 🤔.
I mean u still won and that's fair but still dont get it
😅 to me, this blue white control is exactly as cheesy as mono red. Just a pain in the ass
Nah, actually requires a brain.
@@dave3823 Thats a meme. 'Muh control decks requires thinking' Yeah right delete everything thats threatening very thoughtful indeed.
@@dave3823 Actually it hardly requires more brain than aggro. People just like to delude themselves that they have the intellectual high ground.
Instant speed wrath
💔
Nice
He called me a mesa falcon
theres even one worse thing as mono red, 2 blue/white controls againdt each other lel
So true.. it's lifetime you'll never get back..
No dude it's amazing magic come on
21:11 🤨🤮
Ah yes, as an old timer esper control player, nothings sweeter than our win condition being the opponents surrender button. Aggro decks are so free.
!
more control lol
Mono red always has the brain dead can't counter higher then 3 reputation, but azorius "imma counters evcerythingszs!!" isn't much more involved..
got to love dummies not running at least 1 basic land for each color. had a guy run zero basic lands in his deck and he scooped after a bit cause i kept drawing my field of ruins shorting his mana repeatedly. it was a late game deck he was running so yea. after playing 15 matches this deck is hot trash no it's beyond hot trash 5 wins out of 15 matches
Sometimes you gotta learn the hard way lol
XD how could we forsee you playing this?...
zzzz
Booorriiinnnng
The blue and white deck is so Annoying. so... take it!!! Yeaaahh
this game sucks DIKKKKK
COME ON CGB, COUNTER SPELLS??? YOUR BETTER THAN THAT. YOU USE TO BE WAY UP HERE AT THE TOP...BUT NOW......👎 THE DAY THE LEGEND DIED😥
Can't tell if your joking or being serious with this comment😂
