I think you hit the nail on the head here; attacking women for whether or not their online presence is feminist enough misses the mark when the real issue is finding out why they are attracted to certain lifestyles! it’s also important to remember that a lot of tradwife-type videos are not depicting people’s daily lives, but their best moments (like many other social media posts, regardless of a particular aesthetic style). like probably these women are making goldfish crackers from scratch as like a fun activity, not literally every single time their kids are hungry for a snack ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but too often we leave that out of the conversation bc it’s easier to poke holes in the glimpse of others’ lives that we have access to online
yes like why this sudden change! some tradwives are definitely internally misogynistic, but i think a lot of them are just sorely disappointed with their prospects (like that harvard grad). and good point!! if they're cooking like this everyday, it's definitely a full-time job at that point. which is... a choice haha
What is halarous is that clearly Both Nara smith and Ballarina farm, are not taking care of their kids. Being a contest creators is a job. To male goldfish from scratch takes time, her kids are clearly elsewhere being taken care of by others.
