I've no idea which voice I'll use for my Rook, not as yet. But, oh my, I can't wait to meet Lucanis.

Well no idea which Rook voice I am going to choose but after hearing Zachs voice for Lucanis I am doubling down on my decision for who to romance. Lucanis is 🔥🥵
@10:47 I'm also so excited for asian representation - and an elf no less! Oh, the hours I have spent trying to make an asian Lavellan in CC. Never turns out right though... PLUS i appreciate an asian character who doesn't conform to the usual asian girl stereotypes in media, especially as an asian who has been occasionally accused of quirk. This quirked up queer NB Asian solavellan is very very happy.

I am sure i will get around to all the Rook voices in one playthrough or another, but didn't expect to like Jeff's as much as I did! As for companion voices, Lucanis was definitely a gut punch...*damn* good. And I fell in love witb Neve's voice in the gameplay video.
I tend to choose american accents for qunari and dwarves and british for humans and elves.
Or Matt could be using the patté de rolo voice
I can plan to romance other people but as soon as lucanis shows up and opens his mouth my rook will be done for. Just like please I don't care what you say so long as you keep talking 😍 He will be the only constant not replaced character no matter the mission the whole game just so I can hear him speak
the rook who was in the gameplay trailer played a northerner in the telltale GOT game. considering all their reels I was really hoping for northern(UK) and more rough accents but alas
I'm just really excited to play around with the voice pitch slider they mentioned. I wonder if we won't be able to use it to use any of the voices for any presentation/pitch?
i thought i was gonna go for bryony bc of nine fingers my beloved but now that i hear jeff berg's voice idk I'm overwhelmed by great choices!!!

I am very torn on all the Rooks but without knowing ANYTHING about Rook, Erika seems perfect.
I’m glad we get another shot at having an Antivan lover because I had to hc Zevran and Josephine polyamory w Tabris (Leliana) and Trevelyan (Bull) and that VOICE helloooo. But if bone daddy is ANYTHINGGGG like Giles then I already know who I’m romancing. Dear lord almighty.
But then AGAIN there’s Neve and knowing she has a leg prosthetic TOO and how every one of my characters have been sapphic ladies and enbys then I just have to keep up tradition.

Fingers crossed I can just get my hands on the English version of the game or that I can switch languages. The German dub for Dragon Age was usually pretty good, but the fact that I had a bug that made it unable for me to switch languages in Inquistion really stung - especially cuz Solas's German VA (while having a very gentle and charming voice) was also the guy to voice Leanard from the Big Bang Theory over here, made me unable to unhear that during his romance scenes 😭😂

Gonna play as a male Qunari this time around romancing short king Lucanis, not sure which male voice yet, love the kind of husky english voice so far but omg just listened to Jeff and i agree with you, they would make a sexy voice paring. Never liked the Inquisition feminine american voice but DEFO going to do my second play through using Erikas voice.

I don’t know which voice I will use for my Male Elven Rook, Female Dwarven Rook, Female Human Rook and Male Qunari Rook.
Generic American? excuse me, as an American we call that the 'news caster' accent, and its generic to me because I'm from the Northeast. Meanwhile, like Caitie said, we're over here thinking 'generic British' while you break down all the regions 😂. I also hope that Bryony uses her natural/a northern accent. All the Rooks are great though, sometimes Bioware misses on the MC voices. The only one i'm a little unsure of, just because I can't picture it is Nick Boraine, but on his IMDB there is a clip and he does lots of accents in different roles so i'm not too worried, he's from South Africa. I'm curious about Emmrich's voice too because we've only heard Cassandra from Nevarra and I can't really place her accent in a 'real world' place, I wonder if they'll stick with that as a Nevarran accent or just a Cassandra accent. Tevinter too, is Dorian's accent a 'generic Tevinter' accent?

Welp Ik 2/3 of my canon playthroughs I’m romancing cuz in one of my canon playthroughs I romance sad elf boys so Davrin being voice by Javik from Mass Effect who I couldn’t romance! But by god I’m romancing that prothaen now!

I think my favorite Rook voice will be Erika! And Jeff sound awesome. But I'll most likely make different rooks for different playthroughs and use all the voices... but I absolutely think Erika Ishii will be my #1

It will probably be between the two male rook voices for me ngl. I am not really liking the fem rook voices, but I am hoping that maybe in game and with pitch adjustment possible I might warm up to them.
Neve and Lucanis have the best voices to me which is great because it's the two characters I want to romance 🤭 I also really like Bellara's voice. I dont think she fits the quirky girl trope for me. I view her more as someone who is really passionate about one thing and who is just excited to share what she knows with you. That's the vibe I got, but I could be wrong since I certainly wasnt part of the group who got to play part of the game already 😂
I am really worried about Emmrich and Taash though. The voices dont fit what I had in mind at all. For Emmrich, I was expecting something a bit deeper, raspier, more mature sounding if it makes sense and I checked many different clips of Nick Boraine and none of them really fit. He sounds too young to me, too bright.
As for Taash, I was also expecting a deeper voice, something maybe a bit less feminine? But since it was said they had a hard time finding a clip that fit, I will see what it is like in game. Maybe I will like it.
Confused and a bit hurt that you would delete my comment about Davrins voice actor? People get attached to characters and can be very affected after engaging with them and then learning this. They have a right to know and then decide whether they are okay engaging with this or not. I still will, but I know people that just can't. It's not something that will stay hidden, there are people starting to share this info more on other platforms. Why just delete my comment informing people? Kinda shocked that you wouldn't consider it a valid comment to make and just shut me down and hide this information by deleting it.

But while we’re at it, what I wanted to say was….Solas’s va follows JKROWLING so unless we’re here to talk about that too, then I guess we have to understand that the people they follow might not reflect who they are. Has Davrin’s va said anything problematic at all?
@@unifadewalkerI didn't know that about Solas voice actor, and that's definitely a valid point to raise. If you take a decent look at the sheer amount of hateful right wing accounts that Ike Amadi follows, with the only exception being BlackLivesMatters and other voice actors - I think it's very reasonable to understand that this does reflect their beliefs. It's not just a handful of accounts, please take a look and click through to the posts on more vague ones you may not recognize. You don't follow that many accounts posting hateful bigotry for no reason.
No one is perfect, we all have blind spots and things we get wrong and people should not be canceled for that. I think it's due to the sheer amount of them he follows and no other progressive and inclusive accounts besides BLM, that has clearly indicated to people what he stands for.
Yes, he has not posted this hateful stuff himself that we can see, and likes are no longer visible on Twitter. But he follows a ton of these accounts spewing bigotry and seeking to remove the rights of others, and little else besides other industry professionals. It's very reasonable to believe he shares the same beliefs and people find that upsetting to learn about a voice actor in such an inclusive game.
It doesn't mean Davrin should be canceled, but people do engage deeply with these characters and deserve to know this, so they can decide whether it's going to affect them when engaging with the content or not.

Super excited to hear Taash! I'll admit, I was kinda worried Taash would be some loud and gruff barbarian archetype, which would either lead to her feeling too similar to Iron Bull, or draw comparisons between her and Karlach(because buff loud horned ladies). But hearing that we're getting more of a deadpan kinda personality from her, I can't wait!
As of now I think I'm settled on Bryony for my first playthrough, her voice is so pretty! Super excited to try out Erika as well, I can easily hear her voice as some kinda snarky dwarven rogue. And ohhh the boys. The boys, the boys, the boys. Their voices are just.....my goodness.
Bryony comes from the North East, so while it might be London (acting) equally it may not.
