it would be cool if there was an aging mod or something it would have to be really in depth but if as the years went on your character aged and some characters "moved away" or died you get to year 50 and you're the only one left in an abandoned ghost town, watering the same weeds every day

You send about a year getting money, doing the ol' farm and rancher life, making nice with the people, finding that special guy or gal (depending on the game you play) . Funnily enough, if you don't marry anyone the game just ends with your 'teacher' saying that you pretty much failed and should go EVEN IF YOU'VE BEEN DOING FARM STUFF. You can also divorce your spouse, but that ends the game again with the same kind of cutscene from before. There's a lot more you can do in these games, probably more in the Special Edition on the PS2. But at a certain time your character dies, and if you raised your kid right he takes over the farm, and the game ends. I always found it kind of weird that you die before the seriously old and sick people you have in the town..
