I'm not American, but I remember my late father talking about Abe Lincoln when I was young. He gave me his history books and said, "this is about the greatest President America ever had. Read about him." As I grew older and read a lot more about Lincoln, I realized my dad was right. He is the greatest. Appreciate his efforts in keeping your country from permanently splitting apart during its worst crisis.
For my favorite president from the United States was George Washington because of his leadership of leading the colonists away from tyranny from the British to making it its own country.

The only thing "honest" about him was his honest hatred of the constitution and the great nation that he swore to protect. He destroyed it. He hated blacks and tried to deport as many as possible and vowed to never let them vote. What a sick, piece of garbage! See the debate between him and Johnson.

Steven W Rodgers I challenge you to read the debate between Lincoln and his opponent during the presidential debate. He said many things against blacks that would absolutely stun most Americans. He also shipped many out of America to what is now the country of Liberia. They adopted a flag and government similar to America. He deported many blacks. The war was about unfair taxation of the southern states. Later Lincoln signed the emancipation proclamation. He refused to listen to Congress, so they did the British thing and walked out. That is what they were familiar with at the time.
I have read many books on Lincoln, and have been interested in the revisionist history on his life. I must say, there are a number of things that you may not understand. The Civil War really came about because southern states, after hearing about Lincoln's anti-slavery views, were afraid that he'd change their lifestyle and livlihoods. They started to pull out of the union. Lincoln tried to pacify them by saying that they could keep their slaves, but not because he liked slavery, but rather because he was willing to do most anything to avoid war. I have also read the debates, and although by modern standards, some of his comments would seem insensitive to blacks, he was really a leading civil rights activist of his day, was friends with blacks like Frederick Douglas, and had sought all his life for a peaceful end to slavery. Regarding Liberia, you may not be aware that Liberia was actually founded many years before Lincoln became president, and he never shipped anyone out. He merely proposed that blacks who wished to form a colony might do so. You have to be careful listening to revisionists' claims. They are rarely very accurate.

Incredible how times changed. Lincoln was in favor of segregation, crazy stuff, and so US suffered because of it. He was really wrong, nowadays the black ethnicity as time passes they're getting more and more respected and treated like whites, we're going to a better place, a place that Lincoln says union, but not only between blacks and whites, but all the other ethnicities. Union, to seek order and balance.
And all things considered, he actually went there, and he went there, lost, and lost again, until he actually made history by providing the black ethnicity the first amendment, and creating the 13th. Amendment to abolish slavery, very cool! And time passed, a black president! Omg! And then another black president! Brings me tears of joy. 🤗
