🏃♀ Feel the rush of parkour freedom in Mirror's Edge Catalyst! In 2024, we revisit this stunning title to see if it still delivers the thrill of movement and exploration. With its sleek visuals and dynamic gameplay, does it stand the test of time? Let's jump into the discussion and find out! #MirrorsEdgeCatalyst #ParkourAction 🏙✨
@@dox_plays tbh I think that they are trolling us, Catalyst IS the sequel and they will just continue to update the models and open up new districts:) Time will tell!
Also I just realized, there's a mirrors edge catalyst animations mod for the original mirrors edge, it replaces Faith's animations with the ones from catalyst so it might help prevent the motion sickness if you replace the animations with the ones that modders have made, the ones I use are the catalyst animations.
Ah, unfortunately I'm not a big fan of or familiar with mods so it's not really something I'm keen to do. I generally like playing the game as vanilla as possible. I may go back and play through it still but potentially in separate sessions which seemed to help. Thanks for the suggestion though! Hope you enjoyed the video!
I was obsessed with the original. I still remember listening to the "Still Alive" song over and over. Just the opening blew me away. I was so excited for Catalyst, but I don't know, it just didn't stick for me. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time. Great video as always!
Finally someone who likes the game almost as much as me, cuz i enjoyed this so much i couldnt stop until i finished the story, and am trying to complete till now. The game got so much hate for such minor issues, like, both fans and others ragged on it.
Yeah, I mean I can't judge people for disliking changes because I can sometimes feel the same with much-loved franchises but I don't think this game is as bad as some people have made it out to be!
The original is still good even today, I've been having lots of fun revisiting it. I've been looking up information about the sequel since I never heard anything about it. Thank you for the review.
I want to play the original but unfortunately it's been giving me motion sickness, maybe one day though. Thanks for watching! It makes all the difference!
Tbh this is one of those games that i need something new, most of today games mostly very similar gets boring fast, mirror edge catalyst is a breath of fresh air (no puns intended) however once you complete it and 3 star everything once, then there no reason come back to it,, plus the game is not popular enough,, i feel weird playing this game in 2024 by myself while rest of the gamers are playing other mainstreams games,
Some people hate the story of catalyst and the open world but I don't care, I find the story more better than the original as the original game was too focused on Faith's sister Kate at the end of it, but with Catalyst it focuses more on the story and characters themselves, also the mods of Catalyst are better than the og game and using the mods in open world is what makes the game more fun, I agree with your opinion as well and Catalyst was a lot less buggy and more beautiful than the og game, also I like how Kruger sucks at villainy lol.
Lol Kruger was kinda forgettable for me. I don't really play games with Mods but I definitely feel this game just felt a lot more polished and refined compared to the original. I honestly enjoyed this one but more so because it was something different compared to all the games out there today
I just beat it and tbh I would like a part 3 but it’s cool if we don’t get it there’s Perfect Dark coming out which is basically Mirrors Edge with guns
This city is a significant part of what i considered my true self. And along with the ambient music, it fuels my bright transhumanist fantasies of a utopia, utopia without a catch, the one i escape in and try to reflect in my work Ps... well obviously mirror's edge is dystopian olol, but that's what it is to me, separate from the actual mirror's edge world
I had such high hopes for catalyst. I hate the constant push for open world games. One thing that made the original so damn amazing was the story and the linear but open playing. God I loved mirrors edge. Catalyst was eh
Yes, I definitely agree about the open world piece. It can get really tedious after a while. I do think Catalyst still has some great aspects though, visuals and performance capture being the main ones for me
Both have pros and cons. Unfortunately I feel they kind of lost track with the art of the first. I understand that some decisions were made because of technology limitations of the time, but the comic graphic style was so neat with the universe of Mirror's edge. I think they did well better job at ambient sound and effects in the first. Especially the pigeons, it may sound silly, but when I see white pigeons flying off in any game I am reminded of Mirror's edge. The comic style cinematics were neat too. However, first game is only 5 hours, story is pretty bad and voice acting is bad even for b game. Battle is way better in first game too, but I don't think anyone enjoyed to have battle in the first place, maybe disarm and run away was just enough. Second game made free run way faster, way easier (not nessesery for good, but I guess depends on the player), lowered down the artistic vision trying to take the first game and make it look more realistic. Story and characters are way better, but it is unfinished story and we will never get another one 😢
I think thats a fair breakdown, I can't say I agree with everything but then again i never made it through the original because I kept getting motion sickness but to me Catalyst was a fun time (and so was the first) just because it was very unique in the gameplay, mechanics, style and music

I LOVE THIS GAME :) Playing it in 2024 is better than ever, it looks and feels crazy good
Yeah, I actually feel like a game based on this world would be interesting, unfortunately I don't know if it'd ever happen

Perhaps one day!

I still play it but only for the atmosphere and the soundtrack. Its not a game, its an experience.
Yeah, seems to be the general consensus i think, perhaps my first time playing this year meant my experience is a bit different 🤔
same here. i guess it's about gameplay itself. Besides, i liked that white and blue city more.
Finally someone who likes the game almost as much as me, cuz i enjoyed this so much i couldnt stop until i finished the story, and am trying to complete till now.

Understandable, I think everyone's different so you gotta do what's right for you

Ah, I'm not familiar with the perfect dark franchise, that's interesting. Thanks for the comment!
No, leave this beauty for me
Ah, a fan I take it then?
This city is a significant part of what i considered my true self. And along with the ambient music, it fuels my bright transhumanist fantasies of a utopia, utopia without a catch, the one i escape in and try to reflect in my work

That is certainly an interesting reply, thanks for your comment! Hope you enjoyed my video ! 😃
Great vid as always! This looks like a fun one to pick up in a sale!
Yes, definitely an on sale title for me!
I sadly cannot play ME catalyst because of the 120 DLL missing thing. I tried to fix it but it didnt work. I wish i had one time to play it again.
That's a damn shame, have you tried reinstalling or verifying files?
I had such high hopes for catalyst. I hate the constant push for open world games. One thing that made the original so damn amazing was the story and the linear but open playing.
God I loved mirrors edge.

wow! this is actually quite the good review!
thanks so much for the kind words! ❤
I prefer the reboot/sequel too tbh, specially cuz the movement is more fluid, idk, it feels better
Yes, it just flows better right? And you feel like there's more momentum
I loved so much the first, the worst part about the 2nd one was the open world. Great review bro
open world was the right direction for mirrors edge, the map design was the issue.
Thanks for the kind words!
I'm honestly kinda mixed because Open World can be pretty hit and miss
Interesting, will give it a crack!
You might really like it!
