@@wix-1-3dgcjt6 Could you elaborate on that. I didn't quite understand. Also, i'd like to express a thought that Ultrakill seems like the new Quake (in impact it would have on the genre).
I prefer tf2 bc of its fast action play style and occasional comedic timing in multiplayer matches and the option to choose different types of characters that have different abilities Guess which tf2 I’m talking about
Actually this is the first video which actually showed me cool indie games like Ultrakill, not saying indie games are bad but very few come close to the cocainish level of Ultrakill
Great video! Such an underrated channel. From my personal experience, I would also like to add another to the list of FPS roguelikes which is seriously underrated: "Roboquest". In Case you're a fan of Borderlands, Overwatch (the gunplay), and fast movement shooters overall, then this game is gonna hit HARD
there's a new game from severed steel devs which features gabriel ultrakill (?) on a skateboard. I didn't find Severed Steel that good, but hopefully this will be a good one.
Wanted to add another pretty recent game called roboquest, it’s a FPS rouge like and I highly recommend it, it has a beautiful art style, snappy guns, and fun bosses
I absolutely love videos like this. I love hearing people gush about obscure-ish games that they love. Excellent video, I wanna buy all these games, and I’m definitely gonna wishlist a bunch of them.
Got a few games on my radar thanks to this, great video. Considering Severed Steel is here I'm amazed you didn't include Echo Point Nova since it's the same dev. I guess you didn't catch up with it yet, and in that case I strongly recommend you to. The game's incredible, definitely one of a kind experience
Played the demo, super excited, noticed it came out a couple weeks ago but haven't gotten to it yet. Wanted to minimize the games I hadn't played yet on this list, it'll probably show up whenever I do a part 2
also if it turns out good (and us titanfall fans are hoping it does giving the amount of passion the devs have in thier YT videos showcasing development on it) Diesel Knights screams and harks that revenge of the Titanfall "Mech-Movement" shooter hybrid where high mobility players who are basically flies are fighting alongside hunks of steel that can also be piloted by players against a team of players who also play both tiny but speedy AND big threatening mechs in big over the top battles.
your comment sound familiar... 343: "Microsoft decided to have you hung by your entrails and your corpse paraded through the city, but ultimately the terms of your execution are up to me..." Halo: "I am already dead"
The dev that made severed steel 1:29 made another game called Echo Point Nova, has grapple hooks, hover boards, bullet time, and 360 movement controls like severed steal has
My favourite FPS Roguelike right now is Wild Bastards. It’s a Hide and Go Seek Heroshooter, where you really need to listen to enemy taunts and footsteps, and explore the environment to find them. And. the enemies are as unique as the 13 xeno outlaws you can play as, each with their own unique weapons and abilities.
Absolute Cvad for Linkimg their Steam Page know them all and Love them all. Hyper Death is a Unique FPS with 360 Vision and has a lot more to it as it seems. Its Chaos but sorted you could say.
i admire what you did here. you used ultrakill to get more attention on similar games by ultrakill fans, im definitely going to play some of these (being a die-hard ultrakill fan) thank you.
A great rougelike FPS I've played is Roboquest. The gunplay is awesome, weapon and enemy variety is wide, the music slaps and the difficulty curve was well tuned. A demo is available so why not giving it a... shot?
man... i hate how all these lists exclude trepang2. it has some amazing graphics, bonkers story and the gameplay is literally some of the best gun play in any game. and dont even get me started on the movement
sometimes I kinda wish people wouldnt mention ultrakill in videos like these cause like there are other games here which are almost as good as UK but wont get the recognition cause "haha I came to listen to ultrakill praise"
Of course! Loved playing through it, your team did a great job translating a typically 2D action game archetype into 3D. Honestly, it's the kind of game I've wanted to make for a while so I loved seeing it come to life. Strange Scaffold has a really bright future ahead of it :)
I wanna recommend Cultic to people who love Blood/horror shooters but also love Resident Evil 4 like me. It even has the “shoot the dynamite/hatchets out the air mechanic”.
Dusk pretty much kickstarted the indie FPS golden era we're in right now back in 2017. They're just so much better than anything the big publishers are putting out. Stuff like Ultrakill, Trepang2, Dusk, I could list hundreds of fps games at this point that have come out that have been amazing. My favorite AAA fps in the last decade is Titanfall 2 but EA just doesn't want to let Respawn make a sequel even though they wanted to do 3. So the indie devs will just pick up the slack and eat up any sales they would have gotten
crab champions just received a whole slew of new updates!!! i would so recommend to check it out again. new maps, enemies, weapons, lots of upgrades to weapon abilities...and they just balanced out the damage system too so it still feels challenging after 100 hours :P
I've already put close to 100 hours into Witchfire in early access, phenomenal game. I did know most of these on the list but there's a few more I for sure want to check out, I hear Ultrakill is pretty good
Hyper Demon is the craziest FPS experience I've ever had. It's made by the guy who made Devil Daggers. It's so weird but so awesome, and I'm so bad at it. lol
I found Turbo Overkill to be very bad. The first weapon you get is an autoaim pistol, that isn't even fun to use. Many weapons need to charge before being fired. There's like... 3 rapid fire hitscan weapons. Some perks in this game are overpowered. Overall the game tries to convince you that it's better than it actually is. I must mention that i only got half-way through, because i just couldn't take it anymore.
The Finals is my favorite FPS I've ever played in 25 years of gaming. Once you get past the learning curve and get a good game sense its extremely fun/ addictive, especially with friends.
To me, what's been missing are single player shooters with a campaign that follows a story like dark forces, half life and return to castle wolfenstein.😊
Very underrated game for a story driven FPS, Rage 2, i was suprised when i heard that it wasn't nearly as popular as i thought it should be, the gunplay in that game is very satisfying and also its the only game that i have completed fully 100%, it is that fun, its basically an open world Doom Eternal, i miss games like that
Go play roboquest. Its like gunfire reborn, a bit like borderlands, but it is like ten times faster. Like Ultrakill fast if you get good at it. And it has some insanely hype music that injects adrenaline straight into your veins the moment you open the door to the first stage
I recommend Shady Knight. Not necessarily a FPS, as there is not much shooting (mostly melee weapons), but it is one damn parkour game that honestly is very fucking cool Highly recommend it
Great list of games here. I wanted to add Roboquest to the FPS Roguelike genre. I'm sick to death of roguelikes but Roboquest is actually fantastic. Plays like Doom Eternal, the weapons feel great for the most part (some odd exceptions), and the roguelike elements actually make the game feel fresh and interesting in each run.

that game is so much borderlands-like than gunfire reborn, it has a consistent artstyle and a killer ost.

The lack of Echo Point Nova in this video is criminal
Roboquest puts all other indie movement roguelike shooters to shame. Definitely give it some love if you continue this series
