I love how the original ME and Catalyst looks but after playing DL2, i feel like DL2 feels better to play. One problem that i always had with most parkour games is that they don't convey the sense of running very well. They're always overly smooth to reduce motion sickness. MEC had this exact problem, it felt like Faith was a chicken with how steady her head was while running, rolling and so on. Thankfully DL2 has a slider to control the smoothness, and at 0 smoothness with max FOV, it truly feels like you're character is putting effort into running, jumping and so on. Mirrors edge is a lot like the first dying light’s parkour, it’s plain but cinematic, but the game also has parkour elements from dying light 2. For example; the horizontal bars that can be swung off of, wall running, the realistic grapple that swings, etc.
it’s to simulate the weight and absorption of the impact of aiden grabbing ledges while taking a falling no person would be able to climb so fast like that from the force in some cases the animation probably looks long because the player wasn’t moving forward in the climb animation since if you don’t you will be put in the animation for holding onto a ledge which slows u down a bit

Imho mirror's edge way better polished by Devs in parkour, and MEC don't have coop bud have much better third/first person animations, besides we have clancy dl2 where we have coop but animations sucks. In mirror's edge u completely can save ur momentum and speed. In MEC double jump(jump up from obstacles) looks and feels absolutely better. While in Dl2 Aiden just farts to jump higher. And don't forget about effect, in Dl2 effects sucks. Blur while u sprinting sucks, we don't have blur while u fall from some height(what's really gave u important feeling) Sound also not distort like it did even in first DL. Aiden also grunts every time while u did far jump, double jump. Okay, in both game we got grappling hook. In Dl2 it give u much ways to use, while in MEC u can use hook in some scripted areas to reach one building to another. But it's still polished way better. Because u don't feel like game slows u while u grappling. When DL 2 actually did. U can jump from top of the building, grapple with hook to street lamp, and in middle u get noticed like some force slows u speed, while u should be same speed(pendelum law). An in MEC when u grappling with hook it's works just like it's should.
For as long as I've played DL2, Empowering Yourself only plays during parkour after completing the final mission. Doing NG+ will disable it until you complete the final mission again in that save. Think of it as a little bonus for the endgame
I think here write that parkour in DL2 is better only those who have not played MES. I don't understand how a game where every movement feels jagged can win on parkour. I realize that by lore Aiden is superhuman, but it doesn't feel like fun within parkour. And what's the point of parkour in a game where you're given a glider that you can literally fly endlessly? It's also terrible to see the controls in the air so obviously done. Maybe give you a jetpack right away? And it's funny how some people write about comparing parkour in real life and parkour in games. The point of the game is to convey sensations, not to show realism. There is nothing fun in realism, so games will always be different.
"fly endlessly" My respected Sir/Madame/Rainbow, you have clearly not played DL2 Or gotten to the paraglider part of the game. You can NOT fly endlessly with the paraglider. You have a certain stamina bar to do so. Not possible to fly endlessly with a maxed-out paraglider or max legend level.
@@AlliamWafton1987 Are you sure you've played DL2?) Clearly, it's not literally “fly endlessly”. Flying becomes very long or almost infinite with a huge amount of stamina, in which case survivor fans and wind allows you not to waste it at all, as it restores instantly. I flew into the TV tower (forgot the name, maybe HTV?) from the ground only using a glider. So don't take everything literally.
I swear everyone keeps comparing dying light to Spider-Man because of the rope swing, kind of annoying. Add mirror's edge is definitely not more realistic, no woman could ever parkour like she could in that game, plus that game is really boring, dying light 2 has a lot of things you can do with that parkour.

Dying light 2022, mirror edge before 2010
Mirror's edge catalyst is better, cuz dl2 parkour - just flying around..
Ofc Mirrors Edge is much better than Dying Light
I did a dive roll at this height 1:16 plenty of times he somehow survived while i unalive
she
Imho mirror's edge way better polished by Devs in parkour, and MEC don't have coop bud have much better third/first person animations, besides we have clancy dl2 where we have coop but animations sucks. In mirror's edge u completely can save ur momentum and speed.
In MEC double jump(jump up from obstacles) looks and feels absolutely better. While in Dl2 Aiden just farts to jump higher.
And don't forget about effect, in Dl2 effects sucks. Blur while u sprinting sucks, we don't have blur while u fall from some height(what's really gave u important feeling)
Sound also not distort like it did even in first DL.
Dude how the heck did you get empowering yourself, I have over 300 hours and it never played in the open world once
i suggest reporting it to techland as that could be a bug
@@AlliamWafton1987 Are you sure you've played DL2?)
Clearly, it's not literally “fly endlessly”. Flying becomes very long or almost infinite with a huge amount of stamina, in which case survivor fans and wind allows you not to waste it at all, as it restores instantly. I flew into the TV tower (forgot the name, maybe HTV?) from the ground only using a glider. So don't take everything literally.
mirrors edge is more realistic and smooth but in dl2 u feel like playing a spiderman-like fps game
@@guitarsandcars2586 chill bro I finished DL 1 like 4 times and DL 2 like 3 times (I got at least 300 hrs total) and I barely finished mirror's edge
you can kick off of walls?! 9:24
Yup
You certainly can see, where Dying Light2 got some of it´s ideas
Mirrors edge catalyst looks better in terms of graphics and colors that’s it dying light 2 is better in every other way but e3 dying light 2 beats them all so ya
Dl2 looks far better also you can change graphics and colors in the settings to make it like e3 ( well you used to be able to but the gritty filter broke)
@@Snake_eyes0 I know but mirrors edge looks better I can clearly see that in the video
@@Spectre-pj4dj i play both on ps5 and dl2 looks way better
even gmod beatrun is better than dl2's clunky arcadey ass parkour system
Lol. L take
Your going off this junkies gamplay, dl2's parkour is whatever you make it to be
You're crazy

Dl 1?? Dl2 you sure bro??

To be fair dying light one's parkour is completely different than these 2, it just wouldn't feel right comparing the two because dying light one had its own unique parkour system.
