Yellow genetically modified corn from the state of Illinois lmao! You are funny 😄 😆! I’ve been to a La Michoacána in Chicago off of Pilsin (is it maybe the same one?) Keep your head up guys! Sometimes what we consider a big loss or disappointment is actually a blessing in disguise. I speak of this first hand- after being part of layoffs in the past and then finding new opportunities and myself blessed with a completely new life and circumstances a year later. Go through the motions, feel the feelings- in this case the cycle of grief since losing a job is still a loss and almost like a death- but keep fighting and working towards your dream life. You both are so talented and original thinkers and have so much to offer the world 🌎 (not just the US or Mexico)! Sending blessings and positive energy your way!
it's ironic that the anti-science crowd has taken such an anti-GMO stance which many ignorant folk have latched onto. (Ecuador has bought into this ideology) yet, GMOs have boosted agricultural output globally & increased shelf-life, helping to feed the ever increasing world population.
many people would give up at this point you are in. However, you are exceptional and are willing to ride through the lows…eventually things will get better. ❤️ keep going 🫶🏻
It nice to hear you guys are in Chicago, however, you guys started a new life in Mexico. You guys own a piece of land in Puerto Escondido, and all of this in just 3 years, the oportunidad is right there, for you guys, i know, We have the greatest food in Chicago, 6 months of cold weather, pero in Mexico, always sunny, nice people, and the opportunity to own a business in Puerto Escondido. My inlaws have 3 shoe factories in Beautiful Morelia, and I can't forget what one of them told me Son, when I started my business 30 years ago, I started from zero, now I am a millionaire, he had ten family members, he gave each one of them a residence in Morelia, including me. And my point is this, don't give up, Life in the USA, has become very hard, the weather in chicago is terrible and the lifestyle in the windy city is not something you want to end up with. Think twice about you decisions, You guys have the perfect age to be successful in sunny Mexico. Cheers
Havent moved to Mexico yet and Chicago will always be home no matter how fucked up it is here but like you, my heart is in Mexico. Every time I go down my heart swells with joy and when the plane is going down the runway, i just want to break down and cry. Next trip is in April for a month! I'll be going to Zacatecas where my grandmas family is from, Querétaro, San Cris and need to pick another city soon. I dont know how I will be leaving after being there for a month. My tears will probably fill up the reservoirs of Cdmx.
@@EatBailaTravel I'm not sure. I'm waiting for my toast who has all the info to get back to me. I'm hoping to maybe take a ride to the town if it's not far. I don't leave till April. I'm really excited.
As you're discerning the next chapter of your life, why not do a Chicago series: Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's day, Semana Santa, etc. from the Latinx perspective (in Spanish?) For all the people thinking about visiting Chicago but not knowing how to get around or what to check out. Whatever ya'll do, it will be amazing! 🫶🏼
Love that idea! Though we’re not sure how long we’ll stick around, we’ll try to get out another Chicago video before we go. Our very first video upload was ok Chicago! If you haven’t seen it please check it out 😁😁
Hola! Love that u guys went home to Chicago! I can see u guys r looking for clarity on your next move. I think after this trip u already know--Jenny said it, Chicago and your family will always be there, but u took a wild risk 3 years ago and have had am amazing time, living out your dreams, having adventures and yes, some setbacks too! Pero asi es la vida. Stay in Mexico thru your lease in August and a little longer. Unless u have an amazing job back in Chicago, I really think you would regret moving back after everything u have been able to experience in Mexico! Pray, meditate, ask God for guidance and He will show you the way!
Yes yes you’re on point here. After moving to CDMX for this job, we’d be much more cautious about making moves like that based on a job ever again. Especially since this one seemed so great on paper and ended up being nothing like what I expected. Thanks so much for your good vibes and advice! 🙏🏽🫶🏻
Loved this video as we share a love for Chicago. My Mom is 4th generation Polish American so our family has roots there to 1881. But we dont live there, we live in Birmingham, Alabama so we vacation there every year. So many things to love. We try to have some touchstone places we always go (ie. The Web Pub on Webster and Seel ey as our family owned that tavern, StaroPolska, Red Apple, Kaufmans Jewish Deli in Skokie, Hagan's on Montrose, Weber's Bakery on Archer and a ton more. Hard to beat Chicago for food. There are a ton of reasons I Love your channel, our shared passion for Chicago and Mexico is a big part of that. I hope everything gets sorted for you guys in CDMX. Cheers!!
I love this ❤️ thanks for sharing a piece of your family heritage in Chicago. The Polish community is a very important part of Chicago’s identity and it’s a part of ours, too. From loving Polish sausages and joining the Paczki craze every year 😆 I’m so glad we could connect on here! So cool
Thanks for sharing, we’ll probably be traveling to Chicago for spring break. I’m glad you are toughening it out until August. I would recommend finding a part time gig until your lease is up so that you can offset your expenses, and maybe at least break ground on your Puerto Escondido land 😊.
Ah 🥲 I’m kinda on the same boat as far as missing home. I’ve also been in Mexico for 3years and each time I go home to visit it gets a little harder to leave even though I am truly happiest in Mexico. It’s just leaving family that is tough.
Omg how fun! I can deff share a list. Since you guys visited a lot has changed in La Paz so there are some really cute/neat spots. Lmk how we can connect! Email? Or I can send through a list here. :)
I have not landed anywhere specific yet! I am a retired airline employee. I am going to San Miguel de Allende to renew residency because it was so easy the first time. Guanajuato is my first choice but I need Spanish so study a lot now! I have so many friends here who came here and they insist I become fluent. I plan on keeping my Berwyn house and snow birding! Good to know you are “neighbors!”
If you are a dedicated student, Rocket Spanish is a great app to learn. I recommend doing all the lessons and even writing them down to get the most out of it.
Just came across your channel. Love our Chicago food! The Pink Owl is my local favorite with delicious coffee, chilaquiles, & food. Hadn't known you were related to Alex. Blessings on your adventures!
Sorry to hear that the job didn't work out. But hey! Life happens! I am just so happy to see an update from you 2! Whatever you do, just know your fans will support you!
The thing about La Michoacana is that it isn't trademarked so anyone can open a paleteria and name it La Michoacana. The one in Chicago most likely has nothing to do with the ones in Mexico which is why you're not finding that same yogurt thing.
@@EatBailaTravel I haven't.... but one of my "travel dreams" is a "US food culture tour" so I was SUPER excited to see this video pop up. If I ever make it to Chicago I will be using this video as reference!! And definitely will be trying the elote and the yogurt. Abrazos
I am Chicagoan by birth. Born in 1977 at what is Rush Presbyterian St Luke's on Chicago's West Side. My mother, father, and sister still call Chicago home. Me, I am in Mesa Arizona...my wife of 20 years is from Vietnam. Much as I feel nostalgic when I come back to Chicago to spend time with my parents and sister, I really ultimately feel out of place there. I can only manage to be in Chicago for a whole week before I start getting on people's nerves...and vice versa. Also, I start seeing my wife depressed in Chicago (she really feels out of place in Chicago). My wife is Vietnamese and I am Indian background. Note, my wife doesn't like snow. Anyway, right now for the last 13 years, Mesa Arizona and Phoenix Arizona has worked out for my wife and I. We have traveled to Mexico and Latin America many times. We like Mexico, and want to see more. We probably will ultimately relocate outside the USA in the next 5 years or so. The places we are considering are: Puebla Mexico Philippines Vietnam Thailand We will see. All that I know is we are taking our time, researching and scouting out places. We also want to make sure we are ready before we do it. The question for us is NOT if, but WHEN will we do it? We have both come to the conclusion that the USA is no place for older people. Ultimately, you do what you want to do. Go where you are treated best. Maybe you should start your own business somewhere. Mexico is perfect. You are established there.
How sweet! Thanks so much for sharing your story 🫶🏻❤️ very inspiring to learn about a fellow Chicagoan who can relate to this feeling and this journey of searching for the right place for quality of life. I wish you and your wife all the best! If we make it out to Phoenix someday before you move we’d love to meet you two!
My wife and I have lived in 3 cities in Mexico over the past 8 months and we loved it. We just returned to Colorado because our youngest daughter just had her first child. So, we decided to stay in the USA thru the end of this year. We have learned a lot from our visits to Mexico and from watching your videos. So, returning to Mexico will be easier next time around. For us, we look at this as an opportinity to reset and refresh. You may need to do the same. Either way, there are always plenty of reasons to come home.
Don't even think about staying here in Chicago. Chicago is a great city but Mexico is where you are really happy, I know it is not easy but don't give up. I live in Chicago and I just retired but I have always loved being in Mexico, most of my vacation were in Mexico (I have been in different countries but nothing like Mexico and Chicago so now I'm looking forward to spend more time in Mexico. So my advice for you guys enjoy your time here with your families but go back to Mexico and find something, God will help you ,otherwise you might regret it.Good luck guys les falta mucho por recorder en Mexico. As a matter a fact I will be in puerto escondido next week. Dios los bendiga.
I hope you make it back to Mexico soon. I was secretly hoping to run into in CDMX or Puerto! I'm from Chicago so I love that you share about both places.
I am in the exact same spot as you guys now! I have been in Oaxaca 3 years and I even have my lease until august. Do I go back home (Utah?) Do I continue to live here without much option to advance? ... or.... do I do workaway for 3-6 months until winter's over and then go home 😂 that's the one I'm leaning toward.
You guys grew up in Chicago so I totally understand wanting Chicago food. I will say regarding the yogurt with fruit, if you want to see where that started go to a place in Mexico City called el mercado de San Juan Arcos de Belen (downtown right next to Salto del Agua station) and go to the stall called Fuentes de sodas Lupitas and ask for a Escamocha. An escamocha is the origin of all the yogurt fruit drinks you see in the USA. It costs like 100 pesos, which is 6 USD but it is HUGE.
Escamocha! I’ve seen that word and never bothered to ask what it was. I’ve also heard it called “biónico” so it’s hard to keep track of these yogurts lol plus recipes vary so much but next time I see an escamocha for sale I’m definitely gonna try. Thanks for the tip!
You guys can do it ! Our generations is so undervalued. Everything is tough for us. Baby boomers owne everything. I didn’t see anything about your job on the past video.
The last video about Xochimilco was actually filmed in November and posted out of order. The Six Flags Mexico vlog from right before it is where I talked about my job
Welcome back to the Chi. I'm Mexican as well traveled for many years to my beautiful country Mexico, but I would always miss the food made in Illinois 💌♥️💌 wouldn't change it for anything til this day.
Gosh, I hope you two can stay in Mexico and make it work. Let’s hope a good opportunity comes for Jenny in the next three months. You two have such great content and a unique voice. Positive vibes coming your way everyday❤
You just made me want an elote and also agree with you on your moms Gorditas they are the best and let’s not even talk about her Chilaquiles mmmm, well I know you 2 will make the right decision for yourselves. good luck and always remember we are always here when you come and visit . Bless you guys 🤗😘🤗😘
I love Bodhi!!! Love the locations you guys chose :) I recently went to Pink Owl and thought it was so cute! Will definitely be back for try the food :)
Hey guys :) wishing you all the best! Wondering if you felt that Atlixco was a possibility for living there long term? Did you see any dance there? Concerts?Any expats? There's not much online about living there, just tourist info, so I appreciate any more insight from you both 🙏
We loved Atlixco but it was just a tad bit too quiet for us. We want a place with more going on, more events and nightlife. But I think it’s a beautiful place to retire
You’re my brother from another mother. I agree with you, Johnnie’s beef is the best hands down imo. You also order and eat the Italian beef just like I do 😂
Dang, all of that food looked super yummy! I love that you both chose your parent's cooking above all of the others❣I'm glad that you will be staying in CDMX for a while and maybe Jenny can get remote work for a while? I know legal action was mentioned regarding the lost job which may take a while, but Jenny is smart and something better will come her way, hopefully soon.
If there is an opportunity, y’all should visit Phoenix AZ. Lots of transplants from Chicago move out there & have all the Chicago style foods as well. Michoacanasa are out here but probably a bit different. The summertime does get 110+ just a heads up 😬
We love La Michoacana! Joe loves coco de agua paletas and I like to get the chocolate banana with sprinkles. How did the price of La Michocana in Chicago compare to the ones in Mexico ?
That pizza looks 🔥 🔥I am def team pineapple 🍍 lol. Last night my neighbor brought me a pizza with only pineapple and it had a ton and it was so good! I usually just have it on the Hawaiian one but all pineapple is a game changer lol. All your places look good and your cousins coffee shop is so cute! ❤
Fan of your videos as we are contemplating living in Mexico part time, especially that are from the Chicago area, but the only thing Chicago here was your intro in Pilsen! 🤣all the top places were in the burbs! Even your parents 😁 So many great places actually in Chicago, here’s hoping you do a REAL Chicago version 😁🤣
haha. The ultimate Chicagoan comment. We're the only city I know of that calls blasphemy on someone who grew up two blocks from the Chicago border calling themselves a Chicagoan. Mmmmm- I love Johnny's Beef and Bodhi. Pink Owl is so cute-is that where Crepe Culichi was before it moved? I hope all works out for you in Mexico (just returned from there last night), but if not, Chicago is a solid plan B. So win-win? Suerte!
Ricobene’s breaded steak, Bridgeport. Home Run Inn Pizza, Cicero. Lawrence's Fish & Shrimp, 21st & Canal. Garrett’s popcorn, downtown and south side/south burbs. Dao for Thai food, Streeterville (east of Michigan, on Ohio). Mexican, Nuevo León, Little Village. I wanna go back home 😢
The michoacanas and any paleteria in Northern Mexico have frozen youghurt with fruits or other toppings . some michoacanas gave the yougurt maker and you add fress fruit and they mix it. I havent seen those anywhere else in Mexico in the USA. The Machine looks like a small company makes them is very mechanical. So i think Chicago michoacana took the idea from northern mexico
Love you guys & no I don't think you should move back to Chicago. If you really can't decide then write down the pros & cons it will open your eyes. Also you are stuck in Mexico City for now so use that time to see if there are other opportunities that you could potentially do. I believe your heart is in Mexico & you should follow your heart. I have never given up on moving to Latin America though Mexico for now is out of my league due to residency requirements but I have committed to a course that I have been doing for the last 3 months & nearly certified. The course was not cheap but they offered a payment plan which I paying off monthly as I am on benefits. I got it for 50% reduction which was 2K & I have just committed to going further for another 5k. I have never done this in my life as I have always been too scared but I know it is right & it will take me to Central America hopefully sooner rather than later. You both have youth on your side & I turned 60 last September & I am giving it all up to leave England hopefully & not to return as I have nothing here....I am so excited. Carpe Diem, you will not regret it. What you will regret is giving up & you have gone through so much & you are still here. Big hugs guys.X
When we work towards what we really want, we’ll make it happen! Some way, somehow. Glad to hear you’re making big strides towards your own goals ❤️ Carpe diem! ✨🫶🏻
So what's the plan with the property in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca? We ask because im a native of Oaxaca but have lived in Nebrask since I was 3 and have married a Nebraska girl. We are going to build a house in my home town which is 2 hours away from Puerto. We understand 100% the difference in food from Mexico from the U.S. let alone Nebraska... the midwest which is the center of the U.S. best beef, greens ect. We are team pineapple but of the upside down kind ;). We make as a couple around 150k a year being a RN and Police Officer in Nebraska so make the conversion in Chicago. Middle class is all and thatd be hard to give up but the purity and stress free lifestyle of Oaxaca is on another level. Planning to build a foundation for our kids to live in Mex instead of USA. Apart from the fact that the economy is not the same as it was when my parents migrated to U.S. currently at a 16.5 usd exchange rate if the dollar dropped to $13 pesos a dollar my parents say the migration wouldnt be worth it compared to what it was in the 80s. Reach out to us!
🍍🍍😆 We plan to build a mixed residential-commercial space with a café and rooms and apartments for rent. We have big ideas but are indecisive and can’t afford to build just yet. Would love to connect with you guys! Are you on IG?
We talked about it a video from about a month ago. It’s called “We’re back in Puerto Escondido” and we show our little slice of PE 🫶🏻 if you go to our recent videos, it’s about 5 videos ago
Tienen que probar Lou Malnati`s pizza aunque no tiene piña! Hay varios en Chicago pero si un día andan aquí en Milwaukee pasan a visitarnos en el Lou`s aquí. Saludos!
I was lucky to spend a semester in Spain 🇪🇸 and visited Portugal, Italy and Greece and had some of the best food of my life!! 🤤 this was many years ago so I would love to visit again soon 😊 any favorite cities you recommend? We mainly visited the basics: Granada, Sevilla, San Sebastián, Barcelona, Lagos, Rome, Athens, and Santorini.
My opinion is go back to Mexico City for the remaining part of your lease, enjoy the city and if a new opportunity comes, then take it and run with it. If not come back to the US, work hard for a couple of years and build out your home in Mexico, benefits no mortgage or rent. Good luck! It always works out, just keep at it.
Definitely keeping this in mind. I’ll be much more cautious about any new job opportunity after my recent experience so it would have to be something really really good to make us want to stay in CDMX.
I'm glad you guys are safe in such a dangerous place. I'm glad we are safe here in Mexico where we don't have to worry about mass shootings. The food looks delicious, but we are going out for dinner tonight and I'm going to have emoladas con pollo. I know you must be jealous. And if your cousin would like the world's best coffee I would be glad to send him some from Córdoba. Seriously, we love you two, but we miss you here. We go to the States to visit family also, but home is here.
I'm in the same boat as you guys are right now, is it time for me to move back to México or stay here in Florida till the end of my days, lol, or live part time here in the US and part time in Mexico, life changing decisions right? I was born in CDMX but not sure I want to go back to it, Querétaro is still calling my name, specially since its location is so close to CDMX and also other places like Guanajuato etc, and mostly because of your videos, I just want to do it! You're in tough spot, but I'm pretty sure that "a-ha!" moment will show up soon enough, open your hearts but think with your heads, the answer is just around the corner! Hang in there chavos!
The part time living situation sounds great but it depends on what you have going on in the states. For us, that’s Chicago. For you, that’s Florida. After moving to Mexico and occasional visits to Chicago, a couple weeks to a month is plenty for us and we start to miss Mexico/latin America. Gracias por el ánimo! Hope you come to your “a-ha” moment soon too! 😁
@@EatBailaTravel Oh yeah. I can get down on that shit straight up out of the jar on its own, same as escabeche. Grocery Outlet here in Cali sells decent sized containers for, like, $2.50. So good. They also used to sell a really nice, fresh escabeche, but I haven't seen it in a hot minute.
LOVE THIS! i had no idea there were michoacanas in chicago. lmao at the genetically enhanced illinois corn. hey, if it’s untenable in mexico city, why not short-term rent it out? there are so many people looking for short-term housing that’ll 100% cover your rent.
there are SOO many Michoacanas in Chicago and surrounding areas. In Cicero and Berwyn they're like on every other block lol. Where do you live?? You're probably not from Texas because I don't think I've ever seen one there
You guys will be fine, pray pray, and pray because good things happen when you leave everything in the Lord's hands. In the meantime, look for a part-time, teach others (expats) to learn Spanish or English to locals or maybe at a school. Something to keep your mind busy. Sending hugs from a Boricua living in Maryland.
Whether you go back or not. You guys are still young. You two have experience of two countries, where some people have not gone around the corner of their street. My advice is build up your financial in the states, then go back. That what I thinking of doing . To retire there.
interesting - as a Texan, deep-dish pizza isn't particularly popular here. only a few pizzerias even sell it. all of them relatively new. deep-dish is also associated with Chi-town & gangsters. 😄
I would just recommend if you're not already doing so, to just do more cooking at home, and eat out less. I love going out to eat too, but I'm sure you know how expensive that can get. Keep on saving $ so you guys don't have to be as stressed out. Have enough put away in case of an emergency or if any unexpected expenses come up. I wish y'all the best! From one Chicano to another. ✌🏽
You made me miss mi Chicago , will be there in July ❤. Our favorite Italian is Calos in Andersonville my neighborhood , I am living in Albuquerque NM now Chicago will always be home . But like u my plans is to move to 🇲🇽, mi familia me dice "Hay hijito, en ves de ir para delante vas pa tras"😂 I was born in Celaya GTO ❤
Guys, I tell people all the time Chicago has a lot of great food. I miss that Italian beef and pizza. I'll be there in July, so if yall still the, I'll hit you guys up.
I understand that concern. I’d approach that challenge in a similar way as you would in the US: what are you good at? What’s your experience? Can you pursue something similar?
Great now I'm hungry thanks. 😂 Definitely team pineapple. 🍍❤ Hope you guys can stay here in Mexico. I have faith it will work out either way. Thanks for sharing your time with us friends. Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in Xalapa Veracruz Mexico. Yes we are now living in El Centro Xalapa ❤😂✌🏼
We’ve found really really great pizza in Mexico but it’s not Chicago style! But hey close to what we’ve had in Italy so we’re okay with that lol. And finding good (and reasonably priced) Asian food in Mexico has been a challenge. We haven’t found good pho though we haven’t really tried either to be honest
My thoughts your opportunity is in Puerto Escondido to build and open up your hostel and create income. But it may mean that you guys need to move to the USA for some time to get that accomplished. Good luck
Nunca pierdan la esperanza! Las cosas pasan por algo! Después de una tormenta viene la calma! Dios tiene un propósito para ustedes! Que dios los bendiga! Y les aclares sus camino! Cuídense!
It seems like you both love Thailand and love Thai food (Just eating local street food regularly would save you money). Explore that more maybe. If you can find remote work in the US that is at night, or teach English, maybe even Spanish there, you could do it. There are RUclips videos on it. It is much cheaper to live in Bangkok or Chiang Mai than Mexico City. Money saved is money earned... Just an idea, I love your content. Wishing you all the best. Safe travels.
Why don't you guys try California, Florida or Texas to move to instead? Mexico sucks, I grew up down there. Not much economic opportunity, especially for foreigners. Chicago is way too cold, I would never want to live there.
I always thought Chicago had very good food options, deep dish not being one of them. You guys will find your place in the world whether it be here or there live your lives for yourselves, no one else lives their lives for you
I like deep dish but like once every six months or something. Not our go-to pizza at all 😄 but it’s not bad. Chicago does have much more impressive food than that for sure! Thanks for you comment 😊

Chicago style hot dogs and Maxwell Polishes 😋😋🤤

Thank you! Break ground is probably all we could afford right now lol 😆 but yea, we’re hoping we can still make something happen
Good luck guys!
Just follow your dreams.
Back to MX, explore and enjoy. Do some videos of the neighbourhoods in Mexico City and work on what you would like to do next. No Rush, No Stress.
No rush, no stress ✨🫶🏻
Cicero is part of Chicago. A suburb of Chicago. You can say the same thing about other towns nearby like Berwyn.
You guys are living my dream. Hang in there. I would surely miss your content of Mexico if...... saludos desde california
Thanks so much 🙏🏽 saludos 🌴
Ah 🥲 I’m kinda on the same boat as far as missing home. I’ve also been in Mexico for 3years and each time I go home to visit it gets a little harder to leave even though I am truly happiest in Mexico. It’s just leaving family that is tough.
Aw, you can relate! 🥲 it’s tough, right? We have so many loved ones in Chicago but Mexico is home. Where in Mexico do you live?
Yup! I totally feel the same way. I live in La Paz, BCS. I think I found you guys bc of that as well, when you guys came to visit.
Cool! We’re thinking of heading to La Paz in March. Would love to know your favorite spots! 😃
Yess keep the house, rent it on airbnb while you’re in Mexico and live the best of both worlds! I also recommend checking out @ThriveinSpanish 😊
@@EatBailaTravel Great minds think alike! Thanks for the advice of looking at ThrivinginSpanish!
You’re the best! Thanks so much 🫶🏻 hope you’re having a great week ❤️
The thing about La Michoacana is that it isn't trademarked so anyone can open a paleteria and name it La Michoacana. The one in Chicago most likely has nothing to do with the ones in Mexico which is why you're not finding that same yogurt thing.
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing with us, that makes a lot of sense. Have you had one of these yogurts.
The places we are considering are:
Puebla Mexico
Philippines
Vietnam
Thailand
We will see.
Reset and refresh. I like that. Congrats on the grand baby! ❤️ thanks so much for your comment 🫶🏻
We do eat deep dish, it’s just thin crust is the everyday pizza but deep dish is the every so often pizza.
Yea that's true, nothing like thin crust pizza tho
💯 to everything you’re saying! You’re so right. Mexico does make us happy. And there’s still so much to see. Enjoy Puerto Escondido!
I hope you make it back to Mexico soon. I was secretly hoping to run into in CDMX or Puerto! I'm from Chicago so I love that you share about both places.
Nice! When do you plan to head to puerto or CDMX maybe we’ll cross paths.
@@EatBailaTravel I'm in CDMX this week and going to back to San Cris after that.
Cool! We’re still in Chicago this week. Have fun in Mexico! 🇲🇽
Uuff! So you can relate! Workaway sounds great. Also house sitting! Gonna look into that
You guys grew up in Chicago so I totally understand wanting Chicago food.
@@EatBailaTravel yeah there are so many names, typically a Bionicos is chopped fruit salad with cream, nuts, and honey. Hope you enjoy the escamocha.
Gotta compare all of these!
As much as I love Chicago, go build your dreams at the beach. Find an angel investor, be creative, look outside your box. You got this😘🩷🦋
Thanks, Michelle! 🙏🏽🫶🏻
Welcome back to the Chi. I'm Mexican as well traveled for many years to my beautiful country Mexico, but I would always miss the food made in Illinois 💌♥️💌 wouldn't change it for anything til this day.
It was great seeing you guys around your family. Hope things workout in Mexico.
Thanks so much! Moments with our fam are priceless and we’re happy to catch some on video.
I was looking forward to a video of Chicago! It's on the list of cities I'm considering moving to.
Our very first vlog ever was on Chicago 😁 if you haven’t seen that one yet let us know what you think!
Gosh, I hope you two can stay in Mexico and make it work. Let’s hope a good opportunity comes for Jenny in the next three months. You two have such great content and a unique voice. Positive vibes coming your way everyday❤
Thanks, Chris!! 🙏🏽❤️ ✨
You just made me want an elote and also agree with you on your moms Gorditas they are the best and let’s not even talk about her Chilaquiles mmmm, well I know you 2 will make the right decision for yourselves. good luck and always remember we are always here when you come and visit . Bless you guys 🤗😘🤗😘
she does make really good chilaquiles, too! gracias madrina un abrazo!!
Great vid! Cant beat mom’s food!
No place in the world like mom’s food!
I love Bodhi!!! Love the locations you guys chose :) I recently went to Pink Owl and thought it was so cute! Will definitely be back for try the food :)
Yay another Bhodi fan! The croissants and chilaquiles at Pink Owl are fire 🔥 Thanks so much for your comment, Bridgette! 🫶🏻😊
You also order and eat the Italian beef just like I do 😂
Johnnies is the best beef we gotta go back cause we didn't get the chance to try it when we went!
Thank you, Cindy! 🫶🏻 I’m definitely open to something part-time because I want to be able to make more RUclips videos too 😊
If there is an opportunity, y’all should visit Phoenix AZ. Lots of transplants from Chicago move out there & have all the Chicago style foods as well. Michoacanasa are out here but probably a bit different. The summertime does get 110+ just a heads up 😬
I am not Mexican, but am a former Chicagoan and former Illinoisan, now living in metro Phoenix.
We’d love to visit Phoenix sometime! Would be fun to see how much of Chicago is present there
Yourgurt with topping and fruit is easy to find in Cdmx, any mercado or street stands have them.
Yes that’s true, but it’s not the same! This is some kind of specific yogurt recipe that we’ve never found in Mexico
this was so sweet i want to move to mexicoooo
🤗🇲🇽
We love La Michoacana! Joe loves coco de agua paletas and I like to get the chocolate banana with sprinkles. How did the price of La Michocana in Chicago compare to the ones in Mexico ?
Yum! Prices are at least double if not more. The yogurt with fruit was $10 and the elote was $5 (pre-tax).
@@EatBailaTravel Wow!
That pizza always hits the spot! We miss it but it also makes us chubby so 2 times a year is good enough haha
As crazy as it is, there’s no place like home. Family is everything.
Not crazy at all!
Glad you caught that. What would be your top five places in Chicago?
So win-win? Suerte!
Name the names of the restaurants in Chicago! ❤️. I also became a temporary resident in Mexico last year! Love your videos!
There are sooo many good restaurants in Chicago! and nice, where in Mexico do you live?
New Chicagoan Sub! You're young. Enjoy! Chicago isn't going anywhere! Great video!

Ricobene’s breaded steak, Bridgeport. Home Run Inn Pizza, Cicero. Lawrence's Fish & Shrimp, 21st & Canal. Garrett’s popcorn, downtown and south side/south burbs. Dao for Thai food, Streeterville (east of Michigan, on Ohio). Mexican, Nuevo León, Little Village. I wanna go back home 😢
Ricobenes breaded steak is 🔥! We have been to all the places you mentioned except for Dao maybe on our next visit home.
I love Chicago. Makes me want to go back!
Chicago is one of the world’s best cities 🏙️❤️
The michoacanas and any paleteria in Northern Mexico have frozen youghurt with fruits or other toppings
. some michoacanas gave the yougurt maker and you add fress fruit and they mix it. I havent seen those anywhere else in Mexico in the USA. The Machine looks like a small company makes them is very mechanical. So i think Chicago michoacana took the idea from northern mexico
😯 oooohh that sounds delicious! Which cities for example would have that?
Glad to hear you’re making big strides towards your own goals ❤️

We plan to build a mixed residential-commercial space with a café and rooms and apartments for rent. We have big ideas but are indecisive and can’t afford to build just yet. Would love to connect with you guys! Are you on IG?

You guys have land in puerto escondido? Is there a video on that?
We just spent a week in Escondido. I think we’ve just recently aged out, 😂

Thanks for the recs!
I've had yogurt like that in cremerias in Durango
Ooh maybe that’s the key! Look for cremerias and not Michoacanas
You need to visit southern Europe if you want to understand what a great food is like :)
Love u guys.....watever decision u make I know it will b made carefully.😊
Thank you, Connie!
😆 haha yea! We’re on the same page with you on that one. Gracias amigos 🙏🏽 saludos!
Yes!!!!!! Paisans !!!! My favorite!!! Grew up on them !! I remember saving 20 receipts for a free pizza

Hahaha. Giardiniera is kind of like Italian escabeche, no? I can get down on a jar of giardiniera, the same as a container of escabeche.
You’re 100% right! Lol have you had giardiniera before?
You're probably not from Texas because I don't think I've ever seen one there
oh yea we thought about sub-leasing it or short-term renting it, but our condo building is strict and they don't allow that
You guys will be fine, pray pray, and pray because good things happen when you leave everything in the Lord's hands. Whether you go back or not. You guys are still young. You two have experience of two countries, where some people have not gone around the corner of their street. My advice is build up your financial in the states, then go back. That what I thinking of doing . To retire there.
You’re absolutely right! And thankfully we are working on that 😊
interesting - as a Texan, deep-dish pizza isn't particularly popular here. only a few pizzerias even sell it. all of them relatively new. deep-dish is also associated with Chi-town & gangsters. 😄
Never had deep dish outside of Chicago but the irony they a Texan invented deep dish here in Chicago
thanks for the advice! Yes this year it’s been been 80% home cooking the other 20% is eating out, mostly for our videos.
Chicago is one, if not the top, eating city in the US. EVERYTHING is so good! Just avoid the tourist trap places and go where the locals go.
It's definitely a top foodie city in the US! New Orleans is another good one.

Why don't you guys try California, Florida or Texas to move to instead? Mexico sucks, I grew up down there. Not much economic opportunity, especially for foreigners. Chicago is way too cold, I would never want to live there.
What part of Mexico did you grow up in?
@@EatBailaTravel CDMX till I was 7, then Tijuana till I was 16, then San Diego ever since
I love your videos
Hey Andre thanks so much! Happy Sunday!
What about part time in the USA and part time in Mexico? Might work to find a good job in the USA and spend the money in Mexico.
It’s not quite bad idea and lots of people do that! The tricky part is the part time in the US part
That pizza was definitely big enough to save me some leftovers 🥵🙊
there were 3 pieces left after Elena, Ivan and mom ate, too ... lol we owe you pizza!
