- La Paz, Baja California Sur is a remarkable place where you'll find whale sharks, dolphins, sea lions, fantastic food, fun things to do, and possibly even Mexico's most beautiful beach!
How many places in the world can you name that offer all of this in just one city?
As places like Cancun, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta and even Puerto Escondido continue to see costs rise exponentially for both locals and tourists, people are looking for vacation alternatives that have a lot of exciting things to offer without breaking the bank.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s our pleasure to bring you to the gulf of California, the Sea of Cortez, the capital of Baja California Sur: La Paz.
This video is not sponsored. Our recommendations are based on our own positive experiences. We have no affiliation with the vendors mentioned in this video.
We booked our whale shark and island tour (sea lions) in the callejón Bañuelos in front of the main dock on the malecón with a man named Neftalí (WhatsApp +52 612 107 1367).

You both are amazing!
It was a great pleasure to meet you both, in an incredible coincidence, and the way you arrived with all those people was quite magical and surprising! I love them and we love them, I hope to see them again sooner rather than later, remember that in La Nebulosa you are always welcome and in La Paz you have friends who welcome you both with open arms!. 😁🤩
It was a really fun coincidence the way we arrived to La Nebulosa 😆😁🥰 such a fun day making new friends!! Muchas gracias, Jake 🙏🏽☺️ esperamos con ansias la oportunidad de volver a disfrutar un café con ustedes! ☕️🥰 un fuertísimo abrazo 🫂
Very interesting and worthwhile trip. Nature at it's best.
What a great video about La Paz, even more great to meet you on the streets of La Paz, wish you all the best, keep it up.
Amigo! We were very happy to meet you 😊 thanks so much for your company and great moments together
Happy Birthday Jenny!
Thank you!!😊
I'm a big fan of smoked marlin, so that "Choyero" looks pretty delicious to me!
I find it a bit salty I think if it was less salty to me I’d enjoy it more but it is very good!
I’ve had La Paz on my radar a while! Cabo is actually one place I’ve never been interested in going to but La Paz is def more my type. Thanks for this video and Jenny you look great for your birthday trip 🎉 🥰
Oh I’m sure you’ll love it! And thanks so much for your kind compliment 🥰☺️
That food looks DELICIOUS!!!!! And I don't think I've ever seen a person enjoy a cup of coffee so much!!! 😆La Paz has been on my radar for a while. Thanks for the great video!!!!
We dream of that coffee... they've spoiled us! We've become coffee snobs! ☕😆😅
Omg! The food looks incredible 😮 Jenny happy belated birthday 🥳 🎉 you don’t look a day over 23. As always your videos are in my opinion become d best for Mexico travel content 🎉 you guys are truly a gem. I feel sorry for people who have yet to watch your content about Mexico,no saben lo k se pierden. Big shout out to my boy Kevin always on point. I agree, that Talum, Cancun and other Mexican beach town have become increasingly overrated and over priced while little gems like La Paz are being overlooked. I say, let’s keep it that way or you’ll soon be paying $100 pesos for un taco de pescado lol. I been telling my wife we need to visit Baja more often especially because we’re California. Hopefully we make out there this year para disfrutar de toda esa belleza! As always take care guys and keep making your amazing content!
Mexico is a beautiful country 🇲🇽
Truly 🇲🇽❤️
So Beautiful !! ❤
La Paz really is beautiful!
I was in there Sept 2023 for a day trip from Los Cabos and I have to go back there for a longer trip!
Finally!! The most beautiful Mexican lady and famous Kevin have come to the North. Now my hopes are up you will also come to amazing Sonora soon and we will meet there :) La Paz surely sounds like a great place and not as much gringorized as Cabo is. I will check it out soon.
sea food looks amazing!
So good!

Swimming with whale sharks looks so amazing, the sea lions too! The food looked wonderful, someone needs to invent smell-a-vision so we can smell that coffee! It looks like you had a great time, looking forward to the next vid!
😌☕️ ahh I wish you could smell it!! Lol that’s a great idea
Swimming with Whale Sharks there was the coolest thing ive every done.
Seriously the coolest!! So glad you’ve experienced it
Another fun video! Looks like you guys had a blast! And the coffee looks good! ☕️
So so good! It was an amazing time 😊 thanks guys!
Great info!
Thanks for watching!
I hope your birthday vacation was awesome!
It was! Thanks, Chris! Hope you're doing well these days!
Great video, I don’t like sea food alot, but those 🥥 coconut shrimp and pulpo looked really good. Like Kevin said, makes me want to move to a beach destination 😅🏝️🏝️🏝️
The coconut shrimp was so so good! So was the pulpo zarandeado 😋😋
La Paz is beautiful and they have the best seafood.
💯💞
Another awesome video 👍❤
gracias amigo!
Nice video. I really like the intro. It's straight black coffee for me. The whale sharks in La Paz are typically younger and aren't fully grown yet. The food looks like fantastic. Marc
Hola amigos! Great to hear from you, always and thanks for your compliment 🤗 straight black coffee is an excellent choice when it is made well from good beans!
La paz is amazing 🇲🇽
Agreed 🤩
THIS IS HOW U DO A VIDEO GUYS WOOOOO FINALLY
Glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
What a nice place with plenty to do.
It sure is
Wow! Que increíble!!! What was the temperature like? Your birthday trip looked amazing! How memorable! Gracias por llevarnos! Salud!☕️ 🎣🌮❤🇲🇽
The temperature and weather! We totally forgot to talk about that lol. It’s funny you ask because it was much cooler (in temp) than we expected. Last time we visited it was September, hot and humid, like mid-upper 80s F temps most of the day. This time, March, the high was no more than 79-80 for a couple hours but low 70s and 60s most of the day with the night going as low as 50. And it was quite windy (cool breeze). We were wearing sweaters a lot but it was really pleasant weather overall.
I wish I'd seen you guys while you were here. Looks like ya'll were busy during your trip here!
Ah that would have been fun! But we will be back 😁
The listttttt…Que no les mande 🫢 but el paceñito is top of the top!
Cual list? 😯
Love your videos guys! How would you compare the cost of living (or just in general) in La Paz to Puerto Escondido?
It’s hard to compare because Mexicos prices are changing so fast. I want to say they’re about the same price these days
My birthday is the 26th of March. 🎉❤
We’re 10 days apart! Happy belated birthday 🎂💐🥳
La Paz is soooo chill. Far more our style compared to the noisier and much livelier yet wonderful Cabo.
Did a whale shark tour there last year super fun!
La Paz is way more our style, too! Glad you enjoyed the whale shark tour also
@@EatBailaTravel, for sure and happy bday! Will have to stop at that taco shop next time we’re in town. Glad you two had fun on your whale shark tour too.
Unrelated but we came back just last week from Cala de Mar. Your video inspired us to visit there. Gotta be one of the best hidden resorts on the west coast of Mexico!
Continued blessed and safe travels to y’all!
😊😊👍👍
😘🫶🏻✨
You guys been to a lot of places in Mexico - to también pero no conocemos La Paz so gracias por tu video. Are you really serious about moving to La Paz? I’m getting ready to retire, my wife is from Poland and she’s a great salsa dancer but we haven’t found the right place for us yet. We liked QRO, and Playa del Carmen so far. We will explore a little more before making that move. Maybe we will follow you?
Bro I’m from Veracruz too and plan to move to puerto Escondido I hope to meet you some day when I move Mexico in a year or so
Very cool! See you in PE someday soon!
🦈
🫶🏻
😊
🤗
11:11 Whale sharks are classified as sharks, and all sharks are fish. 🦈
OOOHHHHH lol thanks!
La Paz has been on my Possible Homes lost for almost a year! This video was awesome! Makes me wanna cancel my Yucatan trip in 2 weeks, and switch it to la paz 😅😅😅
And can I jump in the tike capsule, only if it freezes me too jaja
Hahah I wonder what kind of world you’ll be re-entering in 2069 when you come out of the time capsule 🤔
@@EatBailaTravel hopefully a better one 💚💚
🤞🏽🤞🏽😊
Since you visited La Paz, I offer another classic book to read - The Pearl by John Steinbeck. A very short story, but very meaningful for understanding what in life is truly valuable. By the way- all the classic books are free PDFs to download to your phone , computer, or tablet.
I 100% agree. Steinbeck is always a good suggestion. FDR spoke highly of him. Another suggestion would be "The Black Pearl" by Scott O'Dell (1967). A Young Adults book, 96 pages, a story based in La Paz. Read it 40+ years ago and it's still in my memory. Now, where's my keys?
Added it to my reading list! Thanks so much ☺️
Haha thanks for the Black Pearl recommendation, too! Also added to my list ☺️
BAJA is the Best!
It’s amazing. We haven’t explored any of Baja (norte) so we are really looking forward to that someday 🤩
Hi, I have a question. Which internet provider (WIFI) do you recommend for a house in Mexico?
Hi, we like TotalPlay. More reliable customer service.
@@EatBailaTravel Thanks for the reply.
👍👍👍🏝️🏝️🏝️🏖️🏖️🏖️☀️☀️☀️🌊
I'd like to road trip from Cabo to Cerritos to La Paz and Playa Balandra. I'm a little apprehensive about renting a car in Mexico, however.
We’ve done that! Rented a car in Cabo and drove to La Paz with stops at Todos Santos and Cerritos beach along the way. Renting a car is a breeze. They have Alamo, Hertz, National, Enterprise, etc.
Any fun dancing in La Paz?
Dónde tomaste el tour espíritu santo?
En el callejón Bañuelos estan unos puestos que venden tours (ubicado al cruzar la calle del muelle). Nosotros compramos los tours con el señor Neftalí (WhatsApp +52 612 107 1367).
I'm a Mexican-American living in Puebla and my gf and I are thinking about moving to La Paz towards the end of the year, just a bit worried about the kind of job opportunities in case our remote work salaries will barely make ends meet as we receive a decent income for the part of the country we're in more south and inexpensive, wondering how the job situation is? currently part time tattooer and full time online medical and legal Spanish-English interpreting wondering how the move and job market there could work.
Hey! Awesome to connect with more 🇲🇽🇺🇸🤗 as La Paz is a growing city I think that points to economic growth and job opportunities also, especially for bilingual people. A tattoo business would be great there. We saw tons of tatted people and only a few tattoo shops. Lots of tourists like to get souvenir tattoos so I think that’d be a great business for you.
Sssssshhhhhhhhh! Most Californians think the world ends at Ensenada.
😅😅
😂 not this Californian
Ive heard that the locals in LA PAZ aren't as welcoming towards foreign tourists as other coastal locations, but I cant speak from experience. Im sure it has something to do with getting priced out iof their on city by overpriced high rise resorts and Air b&bs. Can't blame them for that. One day you're a simple fishing village, the next you're Puerto Vallarta.
Muy pronto dejará de llamarse Mar de Cortez, el presidente está proponiendo llamarlo Golfo de california.
Love your channel and videos. IMHO La Paz isn't so great. I've been there twice driving through Baja. I can't think of any "city" in the Baja that is truly worth a visit. Baja itself is pretty awesome though. We just spent 2 months driving through the mainland and my new favorite city is Puebla. I doubt I'll ever go back to Oaxaca - it was my 4th time in 20 years and it's officially ruined by gringos. There's even anti-gringo graffiti everywhere now. Guadalajara is still good. Puerta Vallarta is an unholy hell, in addition to cops everywhere pulling people over (including me). There are still some good secrets along the Pacific coast. And some good places in the Eastern part of Mexico, especially if you're whitewater kayakers like us. I'll add Fonatur is paying fast and loose with the whole "Pueblo Magico" thing. We were in Coatapec, which is a Pueblo Magico, and lasted 2 days. The hiking around there is plagued with machete wielding locals, Coatapec is run by the Cartel (according to locals), the traffic is terrible on both the streets and the sidewalks. The town itself is meh. After 10 trips to Mexico, several of them driving, and spending 10 months there in all and seeing most of the states (Chiapas is my favorite) I'm off to Italy 😁 But obviously I love Mexico! Lastly, folks that are watching RUclips to figure out where to explore, beware. None of them make videos with titles like "Queretero - It's just Okay"🤣
This comment made me laugh. I am in Queretaro at the moment and it does not compare to other cities like Morelia and Guanajuato.
"I can't think of any "city" in baja worth a visit." I've stayed in LA Paz & todos santos and lived in cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and I agree 😂 only thing worth are the beach and ocean activities.
Gpi 😅
Haha actually you were invited! 😜 pero we’ll go together someday 😌
Mexico steal the name of Bolivia capital La paz like Chile steal Bolivia water's 🤣🤣🤣
