I would of levelled the wood base first it would of saved messing with the whole thing

Hello Kristy, I just discovered your channel. OMGoodness your bedroom closets are stunning ❤ I am just starting my home remodelling project. I was looking for ideas and so very glad I found you. I’m just starting my planning for our spare bedroom, I figured I could make my learning curve mistakes there before I do our master bedroom. lol. So impressed with what you have done here! True you are not a carpenter or joiner! And I'm sure there is an abundance of do's and don'ts but above all you did it and in your own way with learning curves along the way! But well done you! If I were to say anything it would be keep on doing what you are doing but treat yourself to a couple of plastic saw horses with a big piece of osb to sit your drop saw on! 👍💪

I used 18mm to match the doors
Looks great, though, I would of liked to see how it looks in the inside.

I am so impressed by the result! Stunning job! Thank you so much for uploading. May I ask you how much this total project cost you? I am in the process of buying a house that has a few very large but ugly cupboards with sliding doors right in the middle of the living-room. I am torn between keeping them because you can always use the storage capacity, and getting rid of them because they are so hideous. Your video hints at a middle ground: replacing them by customized, fitted Pax cupboards :)
It was around £1100 all in. The drawers increased the price. With just tails it would be cheaper.

Can I ask why do you leave a gap between the wardrobes and then fill it with wood, is it due to the doors?
No, it’s so it looks fitted. If I just put the pax right up against each other it would just look like a standard pax wardobe.

It was about £300 on top of the cost of the IKEA bits. That’s MDF, trim & handles. I have a full inside video on my channel.

Wonderful work! I have one question: Why did you choose the doors in oak? They are also available in white and this would be more forgiving, if the paint is not "overcorrect". Thank you for showing every step!
So the inside was fully oak. It would look odd with white internal doors and the oak internal frame. The inside looks so much better than mine ( see my other videos)

Yes I do. I feel without it does not look like a bespoke wardrobe.

Do you screw your base frames into the skirting board on the wall? I know you said you wanted to keep the skirting incase the wardrobe is moved in the future - I am in the same situation and didn’t want to damage my skirting by screwing into it but want to make sure the base is secure
I screwed the base into the skirting. If you make holes in the skirting from screws you can just fill if you need to.
how much space is there between the hinge side of the doors and the filler panel?
Hairline gap. The door opens in then out. You don’t need to leave a big gap.
Hi.. do you need to leave a perimeter gap around where the doors will sit against the framing? A lot of chafing on my last attempt so just thinking eg a 5mm gap would be useful but maybe unsightly. I’ve ended up planing the doors a bit..
I line up the frame I add with the edge of the ikea pax frame. No extra gap needed. The door hinges pull the doors inwards, they don’t hit the frame.
