This is the way to do it. There's so many guys out there who think you can just take a stock b20 block, strap a VTEC head on it, rev it to 8200+ rpm and be done with it. Good way to stretch a rod bolt at the very least. If you're gonna do B20 VTEC, do it right and save yourself the headache later.
What’s the reasoning behind not using a reground crank? I used to grind cranks myself and we always had a set spec to grind to if needed. 90% Honda cranks we got only needed a micro polish. Only rod journals I had to grind was K series cranks.
Those engines and the whole assembly is not designed to rev pass 7,2k rpm. So you need to balance to rev a lot more safely. I’m my case 10k rpm all day every day.
Very inspiring, I've never done an engine build before, so the plastic you placed between the "main caps" (i think its called that) and the crank, is it only the space from the top or measure bottom space also? or does it even matter as long as you measure between crankshaft and caps? thank you for such helpful knowledge.
Team Ghast Doesn’t matter as long as they all in line. Not like one on top and one on the bottom. Place them all on top or bottom. Using cap are is easier to see and measure.

awesome build. Doing a 12.5:1 na build on a 6g72 myself. Pretty sure 1 has never been done before.
Awesome video!
Awesome built. 🥰🤩🥰
What crank pulley was used?
B20
What wheel setup u running

Hi can you list the setup, cams used?, what springs and retainers?
Watch part 3 engine assembly. It’s all listed. Even price.

jcrabs93 regrinds wont hold up at high rpm. Will do ok with stock engines.
UNIQUE Motorsports ahh I see, good to know
Where do you get forged rods and pistons for only 500?
eBay
@@UNIQUEGrills nice
I’m not much of a car guy but does this work with a B20B?
B20b is the bast for B20 vtec
what octane are you using
92 pump gas
what head gasket and where to buy? doing my first build ever. b20V
I have used Zerg High Compression head B20v 84mm gasket. It’s only two layers instead of standard 3 layers. They are on eBay for only $54 shipped.
I have a question brother . I’ve never built an engine so I’m curious .
Why send the block to balance rotating assembly?

Where did you buy the pistons and rods need them for my b20v lmk bro
Kevin Ash eBay
Did you machine balanced the crankshaft?
Machine shop did. Yes

Hey man. Watched all the videos! What's the fuel you're running this on and whats the final compression figures?
Just 92 pump gas. Compression should be around 12.5:1
👍👍
building my first b20v is there a email i can contact u at? need more info with my build
i grabbed the same pistions but .5 over and some brian crower light weight h beams for 540 watching this video makes me think i scored lol
using ross 12.5:1(@92mm bore or.040 over) pistons and those BC625 lightweight rods as well. But in a 6g72 3.0l v6.
70 hp no more LOL
