Pro tip: hold the protector still with the peel on over the screen and use the little dust sticker to remove the dust. Then peel the protective film off while holding the glass very close over the lcd and slide the film over the lcd.
The electro static of the plastic picks up any dust that might still be there and holding the glass this close to the screen prevents new dust from landing on it.
It might take some practice but it’s pretty easy to master.
I’ve done hundreds of screen protector over the years and pretty much never get any dust under them.

I’ve used them in the past, but was told by a pro a couple of years ago that they’re unnecessary so I stopped using them, but I always saw these as preventatives from scratches on the screen

You don't appreciate them until you in the market to sell your current gear to upgrade or you shoot alot in sunlight and actually use the LCD. It helps in my experience. I was naked on my 5D series camera and I owned all of them. With the flip screen of the modern mirrorless, if you think about it, we are using, touching all the time.

Good advice! At first I thought you would be talking about knives!

I've always used a box cutter for my unboxing and now I have a REAL knife, I had to put it to use. 😂. Thanks!

Screen protectors are the first thing that goes on my camera body. Before I even attach a lens.

Let's just make the manufacturers include one :). But than, they'll end up remove the battery charger. Good way to do it.

“Dammit, got one little speck of dust in there” Spoke for everyone that has ever put a screen protector on.

A painful end result. At least give me a few spots and it’ll make the redo process a bit more approachable. 😂
