This is Part 5 of my video debunking a video from a comedian claiming he Defeated every Argument Against Gun Control. Here is my response to his arguments:
21- Steve argues an armed society is NOT a polite society
22 - Steve argues stopping a bad guy with a gun by having a good guy with a gun is a myth. Victims who were in possession of a gun during a crime were shot at four times the rate as people who were unarmed.
23 - Steve argues the first amendment isn't absolute and the second shouldn't be either.

Japan has a terrible reputation in almost the entire rest of Asia for it's people being extremely unpolite and uncivil. They spent centuries treating literally EVERYONE not Japanese as lesser people.
Also, Japan has historically had nearly double the suicide rate of the US despite their incredibly draconian gun restrictions. Which is a good demonstration that gun ownership doesn't encourage suicide. That thought process always goes the opposite direction for almost ANY decision. 99% of people set their "goal" first, and THEN pick a plan, or course of action, that's most likely to achieve the desired outcome.

The backhanded insult to Heinlein was a tooth-grinder as well. I'm sure Steve believes the propaganda that Heinlein was a fascist.
Unfortunately for him, the fascist wasn't so much Heinlein as Paul Verhoeven, the clown who butchered the story of "Starship Troopers" so badly, the Heinlein Trust no longer permits films of his work. Verhoeven didn't even read the whole book. He admitted he only read the first three chapters, and didn't understand them. He wanted to do a particular kind of pandering movie, though, poking the conservative and libertarian branches of American politics with a stick and calling us all Nazis.
Just to be clear, Heinlein was not a fascist. In fact he was working with ONI during WWII. You know, one of the good guys. He was as far from a fascist as one can get and still have a political thought. Some of his thoughts, like the idea of self reliance and the ownership of firearms, bothered many people who wanted to "cancel" him, though the term hadn't been used in that meaning yet

That's a common logical fallacy (cherry picking &/or hasty generalization), of which he uses MANY. Logical fallacies are usually indicative of two potential problems. First, they're often evidence that the user doesn't know how to properly research/debate. Second, they may indicate the user knows they're arguing from a losing position (or is, at least, not confident about the actual merits of their argument). These aren't mutually exclusive either. A resident explained to me that alot of people in the area are packing. And alot of folks raised in Oakland have seen people the know get blown away over something stupid. I can't stand when comedians or actors get involved in gun politics. Its fine to have an opinion but why should a comedian's point be more important then the average man or woman that you meet on the street? How are they more qualified? The unfortunate thing is that people are willing to listen to celebrities like the comedian and think that because they are famous they must also be right on issues.

According to her while I was inside someone was checking out my car being shady. She then pulled my gun from the glove box, set it on the dash showing we were armed, then the guy quickly walked away. And your main goal in the military is to support, and defend, the Constitution of the United States.
This also holds true for EVERY American citizen.
As an American, your first job is to protect the very document that affords you the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Without that document, you are a statistic.
Without that document, you have no rights.
Without that document, you have no platform to stand on to shout your wokeness out to the world for very long before you will be dealt with.

One of my favorite gun statistics arguments. NY has ALWAYS had a much higher violent crime rate than London. Even in the early-mid 1900s, while NY had more strict gun restrictions than London. More importantly specific types of crime are heavy related to gun restrictions. In England the rate of burglaries has increased a good bit since they practically banned guns. However, before their current gun restrictions only about 15% of burglaries happened while the residents were home and that quickly changed to being slightly over 40% now. Compared to the US where home invasions account for less than 10% of burglaries in areas with fewer arms restrictions.

Upon leaving the hospital she hired an attorney who filed the civil suit against the police department. At that point he stopped coming at me, paced back and forth for about 30 seconds while checking himself and yelling threats that all started with "I swear if you shot me I'll...". I fired one more purposeful miss and he ran off. Then I called the cops and spent 7 hours being questioned. My attacker sought medical attention and thankfully survived. DA said it was justified and I never even went to court.
What I learned was that getting shot isn't always immediately painful and some people may not even notice/feel it for a few minutes. So as someone who is living in Africa. I'd like to bring in an argument. Before i start, I'd like to mention i own guns. Both for self preservation, and hunting/ fun etc. Last year there were 7 armed robberies in my neighborhood. All of which, ak-47's were used against the victims. 3 of those robberies were stopped due to the victims using their guns to defend their house. On 2 occasions the victims owned guns, but they had children at the house, and guns weren't used because of a number of other factors. They were robbed... the other 2 robberies, the victims were badly beaten, and both of which the victims were elderly. Neither of these victims own guns. To top this off, the robbers were TRAINED by the police, the guns that were given to them were in-fact police issued weapons. The story of their capture was all over the newspapers. End of last year, A few of the same robbers were shot dead by members of the police, and the rest were detained and arrested. Every victim involved were completely fine.
So - my point being i 100% back the idea that an individual should utilize guns as a tool for defense. And this specific story i mentioned is an extreme case where im from.
However, i do feel that in America there is a lack of discipline when it comes to the use of guns. Or a lack of discipline in general. What i don't understand, is that you have people carrying the AR platform, and running around the streets, malls, and schools with the intent to kill. These aren't people with the intent to rob, or for some other personal gain, other than to physically harm people. It's a case of mental illness you just don't see in other parts of the world. You might see it here and there in other parts of the world, but not at the level that America presents. So to kind of add on to the comedians point that americans are inpolite, i think its more of the fact that some of you guys are just down right crazy.
I don't think heavy restrictions on gun laws makes any sense, because, well 'MERICA'. But tackling your mental health should be at the top of your list. I mean - why not get a mental health background check or atleast offer references from teachers etc. To prove that you're fit to own a weapon ?
After all- everyone has the right to own a car, but not everyone can drive unless they've been both screened and tested. Would we be having the same debate if the second ammendment was about owning a car, rather than owning a gun ? Just a thought to throw out there.
