Part Three of my video debunking the video, "Defeating every argument against gun control"
In that video, comedian Steve Hofstetter made a video where he claimed he defeated every argument against gun control with a total of 23 points.
Here is Part 1 if you missed it • Comedian Claims He Def...
Here is Part 2 if you missed it • Part 2 - Comedian Clai...
I decided to make my video to retort all 23 of those points.
Because the gun debate is far more intricate than a 15-minute video, and there's so much to unpack, I decided to break my video into five parts.
So, this is part THREE addressing arguments Eleven through Fifteen.
Argument 11 - The government is bound to mess up gun control, unless you're advocating abolishing all laws, you can't make that argument.
Argument 12 - Gun ownership is a right and not a privilege people don't understand any of our other rights.
Argument 13 - It's not a god-given right because God didn't write it, James Madison did. Only 3 countries have gun ownership in their constitution so unless you think the entire world is a bunch of godless heathens then just keep this argument to civics.
Argument 14 - Gun control has worked over 100 times in other countries. It doesn't have to work, it just has to work better. Look at Mothers Against Drunk Drivers in the 1980's.
Argument 15 - 95% of the gun crimes in Chicago comes from guns purchased outside of Chicago.
Steve Hofstetter & others who are pro gun control are entitled to their views on gun control issues. Please always be respectful to others including Steve Hofstetter and their views whether you agree with them or not.

Good try carrot top.
Has this guy seen any of these videos yet? I really want to see him try to defend his original video haha
Brother Colion, I love your advocacy and your exposure of false equivalence covered in statistics absent of context. You made/make it clear that it isn't just in Chicago but in many cities where poverty can no longer be treated as coextant with violence but must be recognized as producing the conditions in which for those to thrive who prey upon the unarmed and facilitate their wallowing in the false belief that they are incapable of changing things in their communities for the better, so 'here's some cheap drugs to numb the pain of your seemingly inescapable existence.' Sadly if someone were to pass a law (or set a Supreme Court precedent, wink wink) which outlawed any infringement of the 2nd Amendment and gun retailers took the opportunity to sell (technically) guns to the would be victims of criminals in large cities for pennies on the dollar (because LIVE customers come back to buy more guns than dead ones do) the gun grabbers would claim that said retailers are acting against the public goods and are as such a public nuisance worthy of being eradicated.
Dude we got so lucky with colion. A young dedicated well above average intelligence lawyer, deciding to advocate for the 2nd. He’s better at this than we could’ve asked for imo.

I was amused at the citation of a history degree from Columbia as somehow validating his positions. He might as well have said, "my family has more money than yours therefore my opinions carry more weight."
That sums up the modern generation quite well. 90% of these useless wastes of oxygen went to university for a degree they'll never pay off, and end up with jobs they didn't go to school for, yet all they (might as well) screech is "I went to school and you didnt"
Might as well wear that debt as a badge of honor since they're stuck with it, I guess
Clearly that was where he learned to be a piece of trash.
I have a history degree, I even studied the Constitution..... that dosen't make me an expert on the Constitution!
I don’t think he learned history correctly. If he did, he would know that disarming citizens, aka gun control, is pretty damn totalitarian. (Germany, Russia, Cuba, etc.) That “comedian” is a walking joke.

@@_notbrandon They anti-gun debunked don't usually go on the invited debate. They usually just get angry if you don't 100 percent concede like their audience is built to.
Some do.
But the adamant ones usually make excuses on why, even when the others in the past offer money. Many times they bail out and claim that the one inviting them was scared. It hypes their audience that buys it and will only listen to them. They know it and it's their source of money.
I find a lot of then to be dishonest grifters. Sometimes flawed logic...not always.
There are videos of the debate, but really it's not usually a debate. The same side will throw insults or blame the other for violence. When not pointing to specifics or one or 2 the other will state numerous and statistics and the other goes mad.
Many of the times their debunking vids use a graph or so that have conflicting statistics. They will have vague sources the other debunk debunked will have to search hard for the actual statistic.
Usually they post it hoping nobody will do so themselves.
It's been law for nearly 245 years. For some unknown reason, I don't think "I am educated" will fly too far in a court of law. Consider the source and time. A.O.C. is supposedly top of her class! She would have to cheat to break 100 on an IQ test! Oil, A gas. I'm so confused!
Mr. Noir needs to state that he is a lawyer, and he would put his BAR exam up against hoffsteter’s “history degree,” any day of the week.

@@96stealth The problem with defensive gun use statistics is the fact they're based on surveys.
I highly doubt there are over 2 million defensive uses of firearms in a year. At least not against credible human threats.
That's not to say that there are none... but the range on the estimate provided by the CDC is absolutely massive. Anywhere from 300k to 2.5m is a hell of a statistical margin.
However, even if we go by the lowest provided number of 300k... that's still TEN TIMES more defensive uses of firearms per year than annual gun-related deaths... and that's including the 66% of gun deaths that are suicides.
@@kevinwalter2674 Well, I know another study was just done by a college with the biggest survey by far and a range wasn’t given. They came up with 1.8m I believe. I heard about it on a podcast, but haven’t looked up the study.

Holy shit lmfao you are completely right. Suicide is a huge part of that number, like i’m quite sure over ~40% of gun deaths are due to suicide
@@trippie_fabio3181 John Lott has been researching this statistic for the past 30+ years and he's the leading expert in the field. I think Colion interviewed John a few months back, and it was every bit as epic as one would expect.
Right? I just did a quick search and found about 179 total gun deaths in Alaska during the year 2019. Thats total, for a state with so lacks gun laws, that doesn't sound horrible. Now also, that includes 65% of them being suicide (roughly the numbers we're familiar with given suicide and firearms). Which means around 117 were suicide related deaths. It said in the same year, 28% were from homicide, so about 50. Because homicide is the main issue, because suicide is a completely different one, 1 death every week isn't something I want. But it's far less tragic than they like to claim.
And that's not to mention that more guns means more likely hood of gun deaths is a "well duhh" statement. A country that has more cars is more likely to have more car related deaths. Places with high drug use (legal or otherwise) is more likely to have more drug related deaths. A place where fast food is more widely available, you guessed it. Will lead to causes that bring about more deaths.
@@slydoorkeeper4783 that’s exactly the argument the libs love to combat “BUT MUH GUN VIOLENCE BUT MUH MALL SHOOTING EVERYWHERE IN THE STATES” a decent number of americans never even seen guns up close and personal. @@trippie_fabio3181 yep, you hear a school shooting for the next 3 months on the media but never the self defense cases that are statistically 50 times more likely according to the CDC compared to homicides. Stop. You're adding logic into something illogical. Unlike this "comedian" you live in reality where you're responsible for your own safety while he gets to have armed security with him 24/7.
It's the same people that think criminals have a greater right to life while trying to kill you than you do. Especially as you lived since that means they didn't actually kill you. You're worth more to them dead so they can use you as a statistic than you are alive.
Everyone knows that their right to due process includes killing you, so that we can sort it out later in the judicial system that he pointed out can't give you a timely trial. Apparently real life is a turn based game to this "comedian".

3:16 Okay, Much respect to Colion Noir for his calling out using a degree to justify pseudo- intellectual arguments. I am going to brag for him in this comment as Colion is a lawyer. His law degree trumps the comedian's history degree. I appreciate Colion's stance as having a degree does not infringe on someone else's right to question you. As a matter of fact a degree is supposed to be respected because people who have them are supposed to be knowledgeable enough to answer questions regarding the subject of their degree. It isn't worth anything if someone can't do that. If any one needs a lawyer find one who isn't going to stand on the whole my degree makes me right crud.
Colion's law degree doesn't trump the comedians history degree. That's just fan boy thinking. His arguments and logic should be all that is necessary to trump the comedians arguments. Being a lawyer doesn't seem to play much if any role in the counter arguments Colion is making. Unfortunately unless there are some details not being mentioned in the video both Colion and the comedian are making some strawman arguments. Having said that I did learn something new about the 2nd Amendment from Colion in the first video of the series. Also Colion does make some very sound and logical points imo.
@@tumadre50 er.. Colion made strawman arguments?
He didn't exaggerate or distort Steve's arguments, he literally explained what the intent of Steve's subject is, his defense of Gun Control is not being "distorted" by Colion, Steve is distorting it himself, delusionally and naively stating in cherrypicked statistics that are not even shared face value, leaving a big chunk of the picture.
Colion didn't make a strawman argument, he removed the masks of naivety, and virtue signalling that is present in this dictatoring laws of guns that only affect THE LEGAL GUN OWNERS.
@@WhiteWolf0212 be a fanboy if you like. Yes they both made some strawman arguments. Generally I agree with Colion but if youre being objective his overall point was not a strawman but a few of his comments were. I am not saying Colion is wrong just not a fan of strawman arguments from anyone.
@@tumadre50 But you said “comment”…
And I’m curious, what did he say that was exagerrated and in that he distorts said sentences’ subject?
@@tumadre50 I think you miss the point of the comment really. It wasn't to claim that Colion's degree actually gives him more authority on the matter, just that if we're having a degree measuring contest, Colion's is longer.
Fun, but frustrating, to watch a coward undermine his own argument over and over.
Colion I admire your logic, eloquence and patience.
When pushing a narrative, damn the logic. They just want an unarmed populous.

When buying a gun in Indiana and you’re an illinois resident they ask to see your FOID card. If you don’t have a foid card you can’t buy a gun. The guns used for violence in Chicago are not bought from stores.
I used to watch hofstetter. Then on one of his Q&As after his routine somebody made a factual statements about Jews and he got enraged. That was when I said to myself "well, if the truth makes this guy mad. I no longer wish to support him in any way, shape, or form."
I used to watch Hostetter, too. Mostly his heckler take downs. Then I saw him bring up something incredibly ignorant about guns, gun control, et. al. in one of his shows and I was like - I'm out. He shoulda stuck to comedy.

Were these "factual statements about Jews" actually anti-Semitic? Because it does actually matter. lol
@@SeraphsWitness No. Hofstetter asked a question about what jews do better than other groups and a guy in the audience said "make movies" and He got all mad and started saying that was anti-semetic. I loved it!! Makes sense to me.. I should have commented on the first video and thumbs up. Keep delivering the message.Great Job!
I'm Canadian, I am sickened beyond what I can express with how we treat not only firearm laws, but self defense in general. It's a nightmare.
It's funny though. He has a degree in history but fails to point out, or just purposely omits, what happens to citizens historically and presently in countries that have banned guns.
Hope we can see the other parts to this
Keep educating brotha
When you think about it this Steve guy is a great comedian, because everything he says, in favor of more gun control, is hilarious
I almost wonder if he actually believes that crap or if he's just trying to pander to the demographic he perceives to be his fans.
Either way, his comedy quality's kinda gone down a bit over the years. I think he's lost his edge because spent too much time going after soft targets and low-hanging fruit.
You’re right!!! I laugh every time he talks😂
Most of this guys arguments are false equivalencies and strawmen. Being a Columbia grad just means he makes his bad takes sound smarter.
@@susanwojcickisnicetwin Anyone with enough funding and time can get a degree.
For most subjects, unless you go masters or doctorate, you've only barely dug into the subject.
Those 2 combined make the average person trying to leverage their degree to show how superior they are just come off like that guy who gets torn a new one during that bar scene in Good Will Hunting.

The death penalty was never considered "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" by the founders. Perhaps the way the death penalty is carried out.
Electric chair with a sponge, lethal injection, and hanging are all relatively fast executions and would be far from cruel and unusual. Burning to death, stabbing, shooting, beating, stoning, etc would be more cruel and unusual
@@TheJackmilla Even with a sponge, electrocution is still a nasty way to go. A firing squad is definitely more humane… But then I’m all for bringing back firing squads.

"Cruel and unusual punishment" was prohibited by a crowd that exercised the death penalty.
"A life for a life" Is a morally founded legal practice that has been around for thousands of years. Losing your life is the natural result of taking a life, nothing "unusual" about it.

First off wtf is Steven doing he’s defended by a doorman with a gun at every public event he goes to

Looking forward to if you revisit and continue this series, listening to you debunk this sleaze is an absolute delight 👍👍👍👍
Finally!! Honestly I kind of want more of these videos. I'm sure there are enough of gun control videos to do a series.
1) Anyone attacking a person has forfeited their “due process” rights and for that matter their right to live. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
2) How can a history major ignore the fact that disarmed populations (Germany, Russia, China and yes even America) have routinely been persecuted if not outright subjected to genocide? If you want more recent examples look at Venezuela and Afghanistan.
Due process comes after a self defense shooting. The cops still have to investigate even if it's an open and shut case of self defense. Even then, the state might still try to prosecute.

This guy is SO soft, and SO blinded by emotion and ideology, that he can't fathom the concept of defending one's self from an imminent threat. I don't know much about the background of this "comedian", but I'd venture to guess that he comes from money and has never known any sort of ACTUAL hardship or struggle and has never had to do without. Gun control worked here in Australia; not in the way it was meant too, but in the way it was always going too: It ensured that ordinary firearm owning citizens are legally prohibited from using their firearms as a means of defense; this includes using them against armed intruders. All firearms are registered so the government knows who owns what and how many firearms; which is the exact issue: The government, if it went rogue knows exactly who owns guns and who exactly to strip firearms from, which it did in 1997 with the Buy Back. The government paraded the Buy Back as a matter of "national security" but my nation saw it as theft and the removal of our means of self defense, which is exactly what it is.
Un-fun fact: It is a federal crime to use a firearm as a means of protection, even against armed intruders, which means if someone with a gun breaks in and shoots your children and your wife and you return fire, you're going to prison for unlawful discharging of a fire arm, and murder if the intruder dies of a bullet wound.
Here in Australia, you CANNOT LEGALLY use a gun to protect yourself, which means gun control controls the guns of legal ownership and does not a motherf*cking thing to curb, prevent or stop gun crime.
Criminal gun owners FLOURISH where there is gun control. Steve Hoffstetter is a fycking idiot.
This is f*cking insane.. I knew overall crime, violence, murder, home invasions & rape all went up after the confiscation.. But I had no idea it's illegal to defend your life. But honestly, thanks to Biden & the Democrats in the US, its starting to be the same way (especially in Dem towns/cities). Over & over again, good, law-abiding (white) Americans are being prosecuted very harshly for clear self defense.. And the attackers dont get charged (if they survive, and if they're black) and then the attackers can sue you for millions (even if they broke into your home & tried to kill you). Theyre letting these repeat-violent-offenders walk free with no-cash-bail, because holding someone on bail is "racist".. (as long as theyre african american)🤦♂️ They want chaos & violence to justify more gun control. And they create racist laws, install radical, racist DA's & prosecutors to make racial tension worse than it really is.. Cuz if we're all distracted, we wont notice them destroying our country, taking our rights, creating communism, or notice their corruption & treason

That’s not easy nowadays. You are the type of liberal the world needs more of. You and I may be polar political opposites but I appreciate you and welcome you openly. We gain nothing by shunning each other but gain so much by putting our beliefs and ideologies aside to find common ground.

@@latetotheparty7551 Tesla FSD no need for the law.
@@latetotheparty7551 and you know, its funny how people point to the whole driver's license and say thats what we need with guns. When exactly what you said happens. Despite government approval, some dickheads don't pay attention or are completely negligent and cause harm to others. But the ones where they have it more ingrained in their culture have more of a respect for it. I've seen so many people who it isn't part of their culture be so disrespectful of firearms but those that grew up with them treat them with the responsibility it deserves. And that's what we need. Not a permission slip, but for them to be understood. Also to actually tackle the issues in the poor areas that the actual crime is happening. I understand poverty can create crime, but people also forget crime definitely creates poverty.
@@slydoorkeeper4783 I actually think even driver's licenses are stupid. Why force someone to get a license, rather than just punishing them for bad driving? It's the same exact argument against prohibition, gun control laws...
Anything that proactively controls a law-abiding citizen, I'm generally against. Punish people when they break the law, don't make them jump through hoops just to participate in society.
