This song makes me feel melancholic because of its lyrics. I was homeless in NYC for about a year. Living on the streets, panhandling and waiting (hoping?) to die soon. Luckily I got a helping hand and got my life back. It was an experience which I don't wish upon anyone.
How has someone provided help to you, Nicholas? Sometimes it feels a little threatening, because the person may be under drug effect or maybe in an extreme inward-looking introspective mood. I wonder how one could approach and offer effective help to people in homeless situation. How did it happen to you? I may be a random stranger, but your comment made me feel so very glad for you, mate. Peace.
I met someone from the same country as me while on the street and he felt compelled to help out. Took me to his place to shower and shave, introduced me to others who are also from the same country as us. Some of them also wanted to help and they chipped in to get me a room. Then they made a few calls to see anyone was looking for staff. Someone needed a cook. It was quite quick to be honest :) thank you for asking.

The new Heaven and the new earth will be full of indescribable blessings, glory and beauty. Streets of gold, etc. According to the bible, God does not forgive sin unless there is a payment for the sin and the payment is death. For the bible said, the soul that sins shall die. And all the good deeds of a person cannot cover up his one single bad deed. The person will end up in hell fire after death. It is only through Jesus that sins are forgiven because he is the only son of God who came to the earth in human form to pay for our sins his own life, by suffering, being whipped, bled, was nailed to the cross and died on the cross for our sins and was buried. But on the third day after His death, God his father raised him up from the dead and he ascended back go heaven and sat at the right hand side of God his father. So that was how Jesus paid for our sins with his own life because of his love and mercy for mankind and also the love and mercy of his father for mankind. Please don’t mix all these everlasting blessings that God has prepared for the holy christians. Please repent of sinning and come to Jesus now for after death it is too late

Until she prayed and said, no i want to see you physically and few other prayer words she spoke, then in that glorious beautiful bright light, she saw JESUS and many more wonders and miracles to the end of the video.
She is THE fucking QUEEN! I am a white Russian boy, who was born in 1995 - it's 62 years after she was. We couldn't be more different. But still, for me, she is THE QUEEN.
I want people to understand that this song is not about her or merely about being happy. This was written by Nina specifically and metaphorically a song for black people, she began by describing the status of black people in society especially in those times of the 60s and 70 who were fighting and facing harsh realities of stereotypes, abuse and racism. Blacks were viewed as and treated as the people who 'ain't got no [insert numerous stereotypes word]' which she mentioned in the beginning of the song and then she responds with the virtues of what (we the blacks do have) and still have even after all was taken, restricted, raped and denied of us. She highlights that we the black people. We have our freedom! You are no longer slaves, we are free. We have soul, health, joy, stamina and eternal virtues no one can ever take from us (despite the fact they tried to take it all from us, 'we still have') despite the labels placed on us, despite the discrimination, racism and the things we have endured and have had taken from us and deprived of us we indeed and infact actually still have all the things that truely matter. The things which cannot be taken; Our power, our dignity, our joy, our rhythm, our soul, our life (spiritually and physical)...etc
@@billybones2521 You're incorrect. This song was written and composed by Nina Simone and was only officially recorded in 1968 by RCA Records. In those times it was very common for people to sing one another's others songs what we call 'cover' today. However the author of this particular song is infact Nina Simone.
This is a really great song for someone with depression. It doesn't try to gloss over it or paint over it. It takes you all the way down before it tries to light you up. That's the only way you can even hope to pull someone out of that darkness...you gotta meet them there first.

According Zen philosophy and some studies about how the brain works a healthy person must be "centered" in emotions. As empathic persons is normal if we share fillings, but be affected in that way can't be healthy because you won't have the capacity to use the right emotion at the right moment. A healthy person isn't always sad neither happy, a healthy person is just in a normal mood the most of the time.
...So a "healthy person" can't appreciate strong emotions, can't react to art? I don't give a shit about Zen philosophy. In Africa we show emotion: we cry when we are sad, we dance when we are happy, sometimes both at the same time, because emotions are not clear cut.

+Juliet Waleya From what I understand, that was he intention behind the song. Society's taken away most of the things she and her race had but she wanted to remember that they still had themselves. They had a voice, they had their life. But that message is easily applied and interpreted by people of other races and cultures in much the same way. And that's great, it means her art was transformative, it has a staying power beyond its historical significance.

Simone was denied from the music school she trained her whole life for (she was a classically trained pianist) because it was a whites only school. But she conquered it to become someone known as the ‘Goddess of Soul’, what a legend, pioneer, genius.✊🏾✊🏿✊🏽 her bio pic on Netflix is inspirational✨
Yes .. she made it after all because a huge part of her country was not racist. It comes down to a minority in the USA and the power they gathered through politics. I am talking about the Democrat Party.
To say that the majority of America was not racist at this time is pretty problematic. There were the KKK, Jim Crow Laws that were close to the South African Apartheid, and media that still perpetuated attitudes of ethnocentrism, the idea that one's culture is better than others. Not to say that every American citizen at this time was racist; but forgetting all these factors is essentially erasing the hard work that artists like Simone had to do to overcome these barriers.
Saw this artist in the Stadium South Circular Road Dublin on two appearances and she had the greatness to inspire and uplift the human soul. What it is to be alive to experience such a wonder. A real fighter for justice for her people and the rest of us. Deep respect

To see who will keep them all his life. Those who passed through believing in Jesus as their lord and savior, will be forgiven and saved and will then be given everlasting life in the kingdom of heaven. While those who failed will be thrown into the lake of fire on judgment day with satan and all his demons. To be destroyed forever in outer darkness. Jesus is the only way to escape. Because he died for our sins and rose again from death on the third day after his death and ascended back to heaven where he came from. Therefore whoever repents of his sins and believe in Jesus, will be saved from hell fire and the lake of fire. In the Bible, in romans 10:9-10 it said: if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. End quote. Ain’t Got No, I Got Life” by Nina Simone: A Soul-Stirring Anthem of Resilience 🎵 ♪ Ain’t got no home, ain’t got no shoes Ain’t got no money, ain’t got no class Ain’t got no skirts, ain’t got no sweater Ain’t got no perfume, ain’t got no bed Ain’t got no mind ♪ 🎵 Introduction: Nina Simone’s rendition of “Ain’t Got No, I Got Life” is a raw and powerful expression of the human experience. Born out of the tumultuous 1960s, this medley of two songs from the musical Hair transcends mere entertainment-it becomes a soulful anthem that resonates with anyone who has faced adversity, discrimination, or the weight of societal expectations. Lyric Analysis: The lyrics are a poignant inventory of life’s perceived lacks-no home, no shoes, no money, no class. Yet, in the same breath, Simone defiantly declares, “I got life!” The juxtaposition of deprivation and resilience is striking. It’s as if she’s saying, “Despite it all, I am alive, and that is enough.” Emotional Impact: Listening to Nina Simone’s voice, weathered by experience, we feel the rawness of her emotions. Her vocal range stretches from vulnerability to defiance, from despair to triumph. The piano accompaniment underscores the emotional rollercoaster, rising and falling with each verse. It’s impossible not to be moved. Historical Context: In the late 1960s, civil rights movements were in full swing. Simone, a fierce advocate for equality, channeled her passion into her music. “Ain’t Got No, I Got Life” became a rallying cry for marginalized communities. It was a declaration of existence, a refusal to be defined solely by what society denied her. Live Performance: The live version recorded in London in 1968 captures the essence of Simone’s artistry. Her voice crackles with intensity, and the audience responds with fervor. As she belts out the chorus, “I got my hair, I got my head, I got my brains, I got my ears,” it’s as if she’s reclaiming her humanity, reclaiming her identity. Legacy: This song endures because it speaks to the universal struggle-the battle against adversity, the fight for self-worth. It reminds us that even when we feel stripped of everything, we still possess life-a precious gift. Simone’s legacy lives on, inspiring generations to find strength in their own “got life.” Conclusion: “Ain’t Got No, I Got Life” isn’t just a song; it’s a lifeline. It reminds us that resilience isn’t about what we lack; it’s about what we hold onto-the fire within, the indomitable spirit. So, play it loud, let Nina Simone’s voice wash over you, and remember: You’ve got life, my friend. And that’s everything. 🎵 ♪ I got my hair, I got my head I got my brains, I got my ears I got my eyes, I got my nose I got my mouth, I got my smile I got my tongue, I got my chin I got my neck, I got my boobs I got my heart, I got my soul I got my back, I got my sex I got my arms, I got my hands I got my fingers, got my legs I got my feet, I got my toes I got my liver, got my blood I got life, I got my freedom I got life, I got life

I dunno man she had some serious problems I feel like her death was almost a kindness to her.
Dear Cara I did not mean literally. It was an end of a creative soul and what it was able to produce for today is what is missed. Do you get me?
1968 I was 4 years of age and I'm still loving this song, PURE CLASS, it will never get old. Nina Simone, Legend.

Getloud now Search for (The Wicked Music Industry (Full Documentary) on youtube or click the link to the video here m.ruclips.net/video/HarwRm29UkQ/видео.html and see a 58 minutes video about the truth behind music industry and see how the celebrities themselves are confessing that satan is the one who owns the music industry and many more demonic rituals and human sacrifices that are going on in secret in the music industry and How each celebrity must take part in it and continue to make music that promotes sin in order for satan to continue to give them temporary riches and fame. Which it against the bible.
Please warn everyone against this and share the videos to others to warn them to stay away from these celebrities and all their songs and to repent of all their other sins which includes sexual immorality, drugs, drinking, partying, smoking, tattoos, cursing, pride, violence, gossip, slander, greed, covetousness, lie, stealing, robbery, fornication, adultery, must not commit incest; which is, unlawful and forbidden sexual relations between siblings, or other close relatives. prejudice, injustice, cheating people, fraud, disobedience to parents, must not disrespect, curse, nor insult one’s parents, nor one’s elders. worldliness, magic, witchcraft, necromancy, idolatry, vanity, not helping others, not giving to the needy, murder which includes abortion and birth control. and believe in Jesus and beg him in prayer to be their lord and savior and forgive their sins, so that they would not enter hell fire after death and be thrown into the lake of fire together with satan and demons to be destroyed and separated from God forever.
And then as written in the bible, they will then be given everlasting life in heaven and the new indescribable, beautiful, Heavenly earth after all sinners had been wiped out of the earth, and the earth had been destroyed with fire by God to purge out all the evils and abominations that had been committed on it, then God will transform the earth into paradise where all holy people of God and Jesus will live forever in happiness. The bible went on and said, there shall be no more sorrow, pain, hunger, thirst, sickness, crying, suffering and death only everlasting happiness With God and Jesus for the bible said that God himself will come down to that new earth and fix his thrown on that Heavenly earth to live with all holy people who believed in Jesus forever.

TunisianPartisan secular music is demonic. Because it does not glorify God. God created us to be worshipping him with music and song that glorify him. The first songs ever sung was in heaven. And it was spiritual songs that glorify God.
The first humans Adam and Eve worshipped God with songs that glorified God.
@@YAHUSHUAISLORD468 Yes you right, but God also gave us the right to have fun, do other things and more. ❤ I agree
Having nothing is terrible but it's also a very reconforting feeling of meaningless and freedom
I was depressing at the beginning. but she acknowledged that she has Life. and that's the best blessing from God.
Nina Simone is keeping people alive beyond the grave. I needed to hear this. When I have nothing, I still have me.
KimiDesu why do people chose to believe that satan does not exist? The bible made it clear that satan and demons are fighting to make people not to believe the bible so that when they die, they would end up in hell.
Many muslims said that they saw JESUS physically but that they could not see his face and became christians. If they are lying, why would they lie and put themselves in danger of being killed for leaving islam. Because muhammed the founder of Islam commanded muslims to kill other muslims who leave their religion.
many people including muslims became christians after JESUS appeared to them, search for (zaheed former muslim priest dramatic conversion to CHRIST) on youtube or click the link to the youtube video here m.ruclips.net/video/EhJGUHkFKuU/видео.html and see a 7 minutes video of a muslim who said that JESUS appeared to him in his room.
after that search for ( JESUS save dini an indonesian muslim part4) on youtube or click the link to the youtube video m.ruclips.net/video/fGO9KmwQ6WU/видео.html while you are watching it skip to the 3:20 minutes of the video and see a muslim woman who said that JESUS appeared to her in her room physically and told her to follow him which means to become a christian.
After that, Search for (Former Muslim Fatimah Saw Jesus Eye-to-Eye & Heard His Final Gospel!) on youtube or click the link to the youtube video here m.ruclips.net/video/rBctdMqClYI/видео.html and hear the testimony of a woman who said that JESUS healed her of 3 different incurable diseases and also healed her mother and after that, from the 23:50 minutes in the video, she said that he appeared to her in her kitchen in the form of a bright light and that the background of her kitchen changed to a glorious place as if she was in heaven, after she had prayed to him to show himself to her the way he appeared and showed himself to apostle Paul from the bible. and that she heard a voice from the bright light read to her john1:1 from the bible. Even that was not enough to convince her that JESUS is GOD.

And you have taste!!!

For french white boy too! We are the world bro.
I'm a black cameroonian who lives in paris and was born in 2002 so it's 69 years after she was no doubt 'bout that she is THE QUEEN
I LOVE what you wrote!!! I am a white woman, but I am very interested in the subject. Please get in touch with me.
Your post is relevant...but Nina Simone didn't write the song, it's taken from the musical 'Hair'. Her rendition is supreme nonetheless.
@@billybones2521 You're incorrect. This song was written and composed by Nina Simone and was only officially recorded in 1968 by RCA Records. In those times it was very common for people to sing one another's others songs what we call 'cover' today. However the author of this particular song is infact Nina Simone.
Not according to Wikipedia.

This is a really great song for someone with depression. It doesn't try to gloss over it or paint over it. It takes you all the way down before it tries to light you up. That's the only way you can even hope to pull someone out of that darkness...you gotta meet them there first.

They weren't depressed. They were suffering under the rapid racism and bigotry of the US at the time.

+thelouisfanclub same to me, great song

The meaning of Nina is: "Darling, dear, little girl, lovely eyed, bejeweled, and slender, little one. The precious talent from the most high God." Thank you, Nina! 🙏💖🏺🌊✨️
She is ever so elegant and the message behind her song is mind blowing. We often forget to worship the most important thing we have, our life, our bodies, ourselves.

+Hermetic Kitten Hey ! J'ai été surpris de te voir ici ! A quand ta prochaine vidéo ASMR en français ? =)
+Juliet Waleya Hardly... You must not comprehend english very well, or you are incompetent, or just another shit stirring racist.
Hermetic Kitten hit the nail on the head.
You need some help.
+Juliet Waleya From what I understand, that was he intention behind the song. Society's taken away most of the things she and her race had but she wanted to remember that they still had themselves. They had a voice, they had their life. But that message is easily applied and interpreted by people of other races and cultures in much the same way. And that's great, it means her art was transformative, it has a staying power beyond its historical significance.
this is why I've been listening to this song over and over everyday i feel like the world is set up to help us forget the most valuable things and I thank God nina can remind me in such a musically inclined way..
This has got to be one of the best arranged, profound, and uplifting songs.
Her arrangements were otherworldly.

Best song for a depressed person to hear. When it's all bleak, you still have power and hope.
O yes you do and Nina knew it
Agreed
This is nonsense you say here. You mean when you are down. When you are suffering depression, this song is like any other, just a song. and you don't get any energy out of it. Many times people do not use the word depression right, when they actually mean down.

Isn't that "The High Priestess of Soul"? 9/2018
alicd100 davis ended up at julliard right?
Yes .. she made it after all because a huge part of her country was not racist. It comes down to a minority in the USA and the power they gathered through politics. I am talking about the Democrat Party.
yea!

NINA SIMONE ISN'T/WASN'T UNDERRATED. SHE'S A LEGEND.
gary corr you people don’t know that God did not bring us to this world to be enjoying life. He brought us here to to this cursed planet and cursed world be tested with his laws and commandments.
End quote.
In the bible, in romans 6:23, it said: the wages(payment) for sin is death. But the gift of God is everlasting life in Jesus Christ our lord. End quote.
Love how unique her voice is and how her music just sticks with you forever one you hear it for the first time. I even did a research paper on her and that made me love her more! Nina is so inspirational and down to earth. She might be in heaven now but her music will always remain in my heart.
why not forget ?
I find Nina Simone seen in a 14 year old video to be a strong, charismatic, and a powerful Queen. When she performs I can’t take my eyes off of her!

Many feel guilty because when Nina sang this song, they were alive. They possessed a certain unjust mentality. The only importance is the ability to change. The past doesn't even matter.
First time I hear this.
And She just sang about my entire life
I cant stop crying

I just discovered this. The saddest and sweetest song ever! My eyes well up every time I hear this. Imagine the depths of existential loneliness one would have to experience to even write such words. Then to hit it out of the ballpark with saying yes to life.

Introduction: Nina Simone’s rendition of “Ain’t Got No, I Got Life” is a raw and powerful expression of the human experience.
It’s as if she’s saying, “Despite it all, I am alive, and that is enough.”
Emotional Impact: Listening to Nina Simone’s voice, weathered by experience, we feel the rawness of her emotions.
Simone’s legacy lives on, inspiring generations to find strength in their own “got life.”
Conclusion: “Ain’t Got No, I Got Life” isn’t just a song; it’s a lifeline. It reminds us that resilience isn’t about what we lack; it’s about what we hold onto-the fire within, the indomitable spirit. So, play it loud, let Nina Simone’s voice wash over you, and remember: You’ve got life, my friend. And that’s everything.

@@mayaescott6250 everyone has passion, with some people it just gets so muted that they forget it exists. i dont know you, but im certain of 1 thing - life is worth living, no matter how pointless it might seem (which it kind of is, unless ure curing cancer or fighting femine). god or no god, paradise or hell, we're here right now, trying to cope with all the bullshit thrown our way, and thats what life is. giving up is a decision (i aint dumb though, i realise some people have it way harder than others). but does any of that matter if all of us have ourselves? its just sad (depressing mainly) how disconnected the society is. and i dont mean in some random ass country, i mean us as humanity. differences matter more than similarities, unfortunately, but it is still out choice what matters and what doesnt.
