I bought new trucks getting back in the game 11 years later this video still seems legit. I was more Redbull though although drinking Rockstar more often now.
Just a head up....Lee Martin doesn't sell those anymore. Ordered one a little over a week ago because he still had a page for them up, never heard anything so I sent him a message on Facebook. He responded saying he doesn't sell them anymore.
For the plastic sheet, you can buy acrylic or polycarbonate (Lexan). Polycarb is way more durable, acrylic is brittle by nature. Polycarbonate is more expensive of course. As for glass, be sure to use tempered glass. It will shatter into small pieces rather than sharp shards from annealed glass. Its more of a mess to clean up if it breaks, but its safer. There will be a small sand blasted logo on tempered glass, so you can tell for sure. Also, if the edges are rounded / polished, you know its tempered. Tempered glass is 4X the strength of annealed glass of the same thickness, so a piece of 1/4 " thick temp glass is as strong as a 1" thick piece of annealed glass.
I run the LMR board and it's awesome. Mine gets well used and travels, its super durable and works really well. I used to use a glass kitchen chopping boards previously, and the LMR board is so mych better by comparison.

For the budget conscious, why not mention MDF board? Perfectly flat, very stiff, no problem messing it up and super cheap. Can get your local DIY to cut them up to the size you want. Just not very pretty.

great video, we use a hard plastic that doesn't concave
I use clear acrylic and it works fine and barely flexes, it cost me $5 and has lasted for 5 years so far
Does the writing on the board itself hinder any light coming thru? Or was that one more or less a promo design?
No not at all
ShortCourseWorld awesome. I'm digging this actually..might have try one out ;)
