- A lore guide to Morathi, the First of the Hag Queens - playable character in the Total War: Warhammer series. Morathi is more known as Malekith's overly kinky mother than her own character - so lets solve that by revealing her mommy magic as the sorceress supreme!
I feel like this isn’t overdue but def necessary as her campaign has always been difficult but with the recent shadows of change dlc they made her campaign 10x harder with ostankya watching at all times
Despite Morathi being the Queen of red flags, we all know that if given the chance, she can 100% get it.

Morathi really dominatrixed her way to the top and as a Slaanesh follower I respect that. She gets even more powerful in AoS now that she's become the new god of murder.

We all like to meme but genuinely one of the most interesting characters in either setting. I will never get over how she tried to Bone Nagash, that shit is amazing.
Morathi for all the cringe memes people bring up with her early lore, is one of the better written villains in fantasy and it translated well into AoS. Her flaws being her own love and pride, but also her love and pride that drove her so far forward. She fell for Aenarion because he saw past what so many couldn’t, and trusted her. She slipped back into her darker habits because he chose to save the world at the cost of his life, ignoring her visions like so many before him did. Had she gone with him, it may have been different. In AoS, when she was finalizing her ritual to finally become the god she felt she deserved to be, she was absorbing countless souls that were once consumed by Slaanesh. Ancient souls. One though, she couldn’t absorb. Couldn’t destroy. Aenarions. Her love for him lasted through eons, and it was her undoing to be what she is now - a god yes, but one with two split personalities, and one of them she is losing control of.

Gotta say while Morathi wins the prize for most impractical outfit, it's nice that they got her a realistically sized medieval style poleaxe. It's a cool historical weapon, and those need more love in Warhammer in general. Every cool magic weapon doesn't need to be a sword.
Morathi is what you get when you fuse Palpatine with Morgan Le Fay.
Morathi is directly responsible for the end of the world.
Frankly it’s a miracle Malekith turned out as well as he did. She is even worse person in AoS.

Kind of disappointed that James Workshop has been steadily marginalizing her to someone who is mostly known for being the mom of someone famous instead of being the main reason the elven empire fell apart and Chaos has such a foothold in the old world.
