@@knighteffsix6351 Hi Knight, Great question. The 6 months to a year is a general rule of thumb for those just getting into their wine collection and/or at an intermediate level. It's something that "won't break the bank" and give a good balance. It represents between 10 and 20 cases that you're consuming and replenishing as time goes by, usually within a year. MOST reds that you buy in the typical grocery or big box store are produced to be consumed in, with Reds, 5 to 6 years, and whites, 3 to 5 years. For some people there could be a case or two that could lay down for five to 20 years but then you're talking about going to the next level. Also, keep in mind, the number of cases you keep on hand is predicated by the space you have. To get more specific, I'd need to understand what my client is attempting to accomplish, how much they consume, what KIND of space they have and how much they want to spend. I hopes this helps. Thanks again for the great question. Cheers!!! Pierre
I wonder if that 5 bottles per week are shared with friends. Otherwise, if 5 bottles is for 1 person only, that’s bordering alcoholism (poor liver). I limit myself to 1 bottle per week and then there are times where I go for weeks without drinking any wine/alcohol.
Which approach do you plan to use?
The balanced approach. Why did you choose 6months to a year though?
