It can be other way around! If the mic works for the phone, but not for the camera, you would need vice versa convert 4 pin TRRS (3 rings/lines) to TRS 3 pin (2 rings/lines).

Great video, but I did a quick test on my two microphones that have two lines on them, and they worked. I have an Android and used OpenCamera app to record videos. 1. without external mic: sound was awful 2. With shure sm58 mic and setting on external microphone on the app, I saw a massive difference. 3. With a random trust pc microphone connected to my phone with Opencamera app, the sound was a bit better than my phones.

Very nice video and perfectly explained. However, I want to connect a Blue Yeti, which has a usb c output port to a Samsung Note 10, that doesn't have a 3.5 input jack. So do I go directly with a small end to small end usb c connector from the phone's usb data/charger port to the mic? or do I need another adapter?

Hey kionz i need some help here😊 i would be very much greatful with ur assistance, im a Dj and normally i do live streaming on FB or any other social network, i have an iphone 8 plus,i bought the lightning to 3.5mm adapter but somehow on the adapter the only way for it to be recognise on my iphone that a lightning adapter is connected is when i turn on bluetooth Note The adapter have the bluetooth sign on it so unless i turn on bluetooth on my phone then it shows lightning adapter but yet still when i record video its audio is very nasty sounding also im picking up background noise any sound that the environment have….

My issue is monitoring my voice while recording with android.
I thought I could do that , but the output is muted when I'm
in record mode. This is something that most of us actually need,
otherwise we feel like we're yelling or talking louder, this is
why you see radio people wearing headphones during broadcast,

I don’t think you need a headphones for this purposes. The main intention of this process is to use a good quality mic. Which many cable that comes with those mic aren’t compatible with the smart phones. So this video suggests a solution.
