Ha ha thanks old buddy! Another RUclipsr asked me recently if I had gotten all my mates together to record that little jingle - I said no but thought of all the stuff we used to record together 8^)
Glad you thought so Esther! The hardest part was researching it all and making sure I didn’t say the wrong thing (probably did though knowing me!) Thanks for your support once again! 8^)
@@RobbieCumming You sometimes do "Partridge" better than even Partridge lol. If you ever make it back to land Robbie, I bet North Norfolk Digital has a time slot waiting for you!
Tattershall Castle uuuuuu ahhhh ghosts in the mist ,, That house is haunted ,need open kitchen fire place to get warm and keep the ghosts away , freeze frame goes to screen saver list ,, thanks robbie
If you want quite then this is the time to do it. But @ are lake we have boats running from one end to the other for bass tournaments. I think of all that gas they just blew through... lol... I like to cruise with the wind blowing through my hair, what I have left after getting it cut. Thanks for the ride. See ya next video. Keep on CRANKING it, Chris
Hi Robbie,,I,m sorry to have missed you,I live in Woodhall Spa,,glad you liked the Kinema..Hornchurch, there,s no such place in Lincolnshire,,,but there is a Horncastle!!! I really enjoy your vids ,keep on cranking !!!! OH yeah ,,your pub of the week should have been the Ebrington Arms,, Kirkby on Bain,, its a great pub,,, lovely food.. and its actually on the old Horncastle canal.. believe me you missed a quality alehouse...regards ( your such a wuss not going though the wash)
Oh crap, Horncastle yes of course. Crap I wish you could add annotations. Oh well I never claim to be perfect!! Ebrington arms, sounds great oh well)! Yeah I’m a wuss that doesn’t want to spend £230 and 10 hours crossing the sea at 4mph fair enough really
ANOTHER fun episode, Robbielad! You know, I think it would be great fun to explore with you in person (especially looking for the "Pub of the Week"!) - but your vids are surely the next best thing! Keep on crankin'! J.
My sister lived at chapel hill in a coverted methodist chapel lots of history and old channels to villages like billinghay. Sis now live up in the hills of crete...near Neapoli must seem like living on everest after lincolnshire..
Hi Robbie another lovely video to add to the collection. Is there any chance of you going to visit the Lancaster canal as part of the BBC Narrowboat Diaries series as I would have thought that this would have been ideal for single handed operations and would also incorporate a tidal river transit. You do realise that you are an excellent advocate for our canal system and I cannot see your videos being used as the basis for a canal catalogue
My neck of the woods. Boated around here for 10 years. I've got some great videos especially the Boston Drains and the Sleaford Canal. Still boating, on my mates boat. You passed it at Chapel Hill. Last video was a trip to Boston last year on his 'ship'.
Hi Malc! Ah thanks I’m chuffed you watched this as I actually watched a few of your videos for research!! Especially the one about the Kyme Eau where you mention the small window of opportunity for boaters! I will make another video soon to complete the journey from Kirkstead bridge to Lincoln so will be watching your videos again!
Thanks Robbie, pleased I found you. As to the Fosse Dyke, well we'll never know for sure, but the problem is it was most likely a dyke that was dug out. Also it seems fairly sure it didn't enter the Trent at Torksey, but a bit further downstream. However a man made waterway is a canal. Even the canal makers much later chose the easiest route, and some of that would have been a small stream. Thing is you'll never please a purist. A bit like some classic car people, who argue it's not original because the wheel nuts are wrong lol.
Hi Robbie WOW langrick bridge I used to sneak down there if you can sneak in a 44 tonner to get to wrangle bank so I missed boston. Yep a full load of fruit and veg flatpack cardboard boxes to the packing plant at wrangle bank then usually off to louth or Immingham for paper rolls only seven rolls (about 2 1/2 tonnes each) and finish the day at ellsmere port) happy days.
Ah cheers, glad you liked it - sorry I couldn’t cover more of the fishing side of things - been a while since I’ve picked up a rod although as you can see not much swimming about at the mo 8^(
He he well last time I went fishing was 18 years ago, I caught a small blue cod, had to get out the priest as I thought hook was swallowed and then realised I needn’t of as the bait was just plugged in its throat when I yanked on it. Aaaand I’ve not fished since!
That's odd I've not had any notifications of any new stuff lately... I'll go prod it with a virtual stick. Ill borrow the one from my wife's aaaaarrrgggghhhhhh!!
I’m really enjoying this section of your journey because it’s a route I probably wouldn’t consider. The expeditions into Tattershall and Woodham Spa were excellent and I loved the little cinema. I would have watched the film regardless of what was on just to experience it. Is it original? I didn’t catch that! Thank you for sharing your journey. I might be a bit slow to catch on here but do you play your own music? I didn’t consider that until the video with Jasmine then today you mentioned your music and a playlist which I’ll checkout. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Hi Sylvia, thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the little excursions, yes the cinema is a bit of a one off and all the music you hear is mine, with some exceptions in earlier vlogs I used my brother’s music. I just don’t like the copyright free music that’s available and it’s my passion so why not combine with the videos I thought! Playlist referred to videos but if you would like to listen to or download any of my songs you can do so here for free: www.soundcloud.com/cobedy
That's amazing. I've had a quick listen and it's brought back lots of your previous journeys. I wish I'd cottoned on sooner as I'm sure I would have enjoyed your channel even more. Maybe I'll just have to watch them all again! Thanks.
I like your music Robbie. Reminds me a lot of a friends music, Matt Stevens. He does a lot of guitar looping. Also has a punky instrumental rock band The Fierce And The Dead. I am becoming more and more caught up in the idea of moving onto a narrowboat, its just how to afford it and how on earth do you balance work / boating / etc without being tied to an expensive mooring option. Some serious thiinking and fact finding this summer me thinks.
Hi Kev, cheers. He must have garageband too 8;^) Yep it’s not easy, and certainly not a great way to save money due to unforseen costs that occur even when you’re being really careful. But you can do anything with a bit of a compromise. Never let anything get in the way of a good story! 8^)
Nope, I can't work out what's going on at 4:18 despite a few watches. I have driven by the Castle many times on the way to race at Cadwell Park but never stopped. Great video Robbie and agree with David's comments today on Twitter about your vlog editing.
Thank you John. Well the sign says “Mooring fee £15 a night” little bit extortionate I thought - but had not the patience to add in an extra comment about it. So being a millenial I of course chucked in some subtle 💷 emojis to highlight this but iMovie on phone wouldn’t let me enlarge them. Also got Horncastle canal wrong and mispelt Tattershall but seemed to have gotten away with it. Nevermind can’t be perfect - will leave that to CtC and JwJ!
Just looked at in full screen on my PC and went through frame by frame - two bundles of money. Now it makes sense. I can't imagine doing a video edit on my phone!
At 12:45 there is Kinema in the Woods. Kinema is Greek for motion, ie motion pictures. In America movie halls are cinemas"sin-ah-mahs" , derived from French, derived from Greek. Are Cinemas called Kinemas in the UK?

I used to live and go to school in Tattershall, a long time ago. Also watched many a film at the Kinema in the Woods, cool to see it again.
Super video. Journeying through the seemingly featureless landscape of eastern England, yet full of interest.
And that's the reason you can't empty your toilet in the canal. Top video mate keep up the good work!
Kinema in the Woods! Tattersall Castle! You’re taking me back into my past🥹
Lovely stuff, it's the little touches, like the quick 'not pub of the week' song that make me smile.

🤯😂
I'd love to join Robbie for a pint in any kind of pub (ideally, the pub of the week ;) )
great vlog is it me or is your engine quieter ?? and love your sense of humour keep on cranking it buddy see you soon on the cut
Ha ha well I have covered it up a little but also made extra effort to turn down the sound as well. Seance of humour - there’s a joke there! Cheers Guy 8^)
ahahaha bloody predictive tex
😂
One thing I've not seen in your videos is how frequently you have to refuel doing all these miles? Have you ever run out of fuel?
V infrequently always keep it topped up usually spend less than £300 on diesel each year
It's so peaceful there
It is. Definitely one of the quietest parts of the system, and the wildlife is really diverse (when we’re not polluting it🙄)
I'm from the UK but currently live in New Zealand. Maximum water nitrate levels in the UK from farming cant surpass 2.5 parts per million. Awesome, I would have liked to have seen that as the locals were proud to tell me simialr stories. Aviation runs in my family although not too keen myself. Almost joined RAF when I was a teenager to get me through university though. They would’nt have let me be a pilot anyway!!!
Are you going to crank it up the tidal Trent and onto the ouse?
No - I will be getting back on the Tidal trent just not going that far (bit out of the Naughty Lass’ capabilities I think.)
Im not sure if holiday home of the week will catch on Robbie.
Ha ha yes John I don’t know what they were thinking there. I mean they didn’t even have a jingle. Unbelievable.
Quality 👍
Awesome rabbit I'll let you in on a secret I was in the Royal Marines back in the days before the internet and all the rest of it that goes on today I finished my basic training and they threw me out after 3 weeks because I had family members that I was unaware of that were in the Russian army priceless
Ouch. You must have been gutted. Where you at these days? Lou’s boat going on the Trent from Shardlow this weekend and I though if we passed by I could say a quick hello.

high ammonia levels are really bad to fish. must have been a serious amount if it killed a lot. loving the dutch look. although i prefer the uk look.
