Installing a Skirted Toilet | Master Bath Remodel (Part 7)

- In this video, I show how I installed a one-piece skirted toilet while dealing with a high toilet flange and uneven floors.
Over the Winter of 2018, I gutted my tiny master bathroom, moved a wall to double the useable space, and completely rebuilt it from the ground up with high-end finishes like Carrara marble and a smart shower.

Man, would I like to park my can on that! It's a beauty. That floor matches the toilet very well. 👍
Sorry for the comment but you earned it : You killed me with the “that’s what’s she said”
My hose was too short 🤷🏻♂️
Awesome video work my man!
Appreciate it!
Very helpful video, thank you very much!
My pleasure
Thank you exactly what I was looking for!!!
It’s a pain but you only have to do it once
On the water supply line home depot sells a chrome pex cover that is easily cut to fit and more professionally finishes the connection to the valve.
Thanks
Never seen a wax less gasket before. What is the lifetime of one of those before they dry rot? Seems like a really ingenious product.
Good question; I’m not exactly sure but it has a 10-year warranty.
They are trash . I’m a service plumber and in my experience I’m always coming in behind guys like him to replace it with a wax lol .
This was so helpful. Your videos are great!!
Thanks so much 😊
how on earth did you see how to align the bolts?
Needle-nose ViseGrips.
Good video - Do you know how to remove the toilet seat on the toilet you installed? I need to change it as it broke, but can't seem to unhinge it - thanks!
Sorry. I moved and don’t remember exactly but I know it comes off for easy cleaning.
is it feasible to install if supply line is from the floor, about 5 inches from wall?
You’ll need to measure the footprint of the new toilet to be sure. It’s not just about distance from the wall; it’s also distance from the center line of the toilet.
@@handydadtv Thank you for the reply. I forgot to mention, we are doing full reno including flooring (removing tiles and installing the new ones). I hope plumber should be able to take care of it then?
If you’re hiring a plumber, he should be able to tell you.
is that a swiss madison toilet?
No. There’s a link in the video description.
@@handydadtv The toilet link is broken. What model toilet was that?
Sorry about that. www.dxv.com/en/product/wyatt-one-piece-elongated-toilet-by-dxv
At 4:05 you are using the wrong tool for the job. U would need a ratching wrench with movable head.
I use what I have.
"That's what she said".... LMAO! In all seriousness, excellent video. I like the skirted toilet - it hides the through bolts and makes cleaning easier. The bathroom is looking AMAZING. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Thanks! I don’t want to spoil the ending for you, but I started the series with a before/after reveal before I started editing the how-to videos. You can check it out here... ruclips.net/video/a20VECjqfFQ/видео.html
Nothing like a little potty humor...bu dum pish
That’s what you get for using a handyman valve
Very informative video except using "Shark Bite" connectors. I've been told by several licensed plumber to NEVER use "Shark Bite" connectors because they aren't reliable and can leak or can come off completely in time.
I get all kinds of feedback and old school plumbers only believe in copper. Not even Pex. So yeah, SharkBite fittings are way too progressive for them.
And yet, I live in a newly constructed house that is 100% Pex with push-on shutoffs (generic SharkBite fittings) under every sink!
What is the brand and model? How is it holding up? Any flush issues?
I see the link is broken. It’s a DXV Wyatt.
I watched about twenty videos before attempting to install a toilet for the first time after watching your video you were the only one that told me what those little plastic washers were for so after watching your video I finely attempted it and it all went good so thank you !
Glad it was helpful 👍🏻
These are the first toilets I’ve put in leave it to me to put in the smooth sided ones to be the first ones there a little harder to put in . LoL !
@paulmarion7578 Now you’ve done the hardest, a normal toilet would be easy!
Where did you get the shims from?
Home Depot
