  • American Couple Reacts/Makes: Germany Inspired Spaghetti Eis! Spaghetti Ice Cream-FIRST TIME EVER! This may be the coolest thing ever! Ice Cream that looks EXACTLY like REAL Spaghetti noodles, Pasta Sauce, Parmesan Cheese & Meatballs! But it's all an illusion! This is Food Art! We saw this in a recent episode of a Germany Reaction video. Debbie being the Queen of Ice Cream, had to make it! So, we attempt this for the first time! How did we do? How does it taste? Germany & Italy for the Win on this one! Of course in Germany you would say, Spaghetti Eis. This was a lot of fun to make. We made mistakes and we had some impatient moments that also ended up very funny. We think you will enjoy this and if you've never made or tasted this Spaghetti Eis, you will want to make it! @@TheNatashaDebbieShow Well done, that exactly looks like in an Italian Ice Cafe (I never made Spaghetti Eis at home, I should try it, too!). The next project-challenge for you from Germany: Pizza-Icecream! You can make the "dough" of vanila-ice, the sauce of strawberries, for the topping you can use fruits (Strawberries, Kiwis, Bananas, seedless Grapes) and grated white chocolate.

Great job, ladies! What might help with the fast melting: Put the cream "base" in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes before putting the "Spaghettis" on. This way the ice cream will be cooled a little from underneath and won't melt as fast. That's how the Gelato places do it over here. 😉

The meatball idea is so fun! Love it!
The original German version doesn't feature them because Spaghetti with Meatballs (as you know them) are a primarily Italian American dish, whereas the German version is more inspired by Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti with tomato sauce and minced meat, which is the preferred Spaghetti dish in Germany.
Edit: Apparently, it's supposed to be Spaghetti Napoli, not Bolognese, my bad

If you want to make this more often, you could cook up a lot of strawberry sauce (like jam) and keep it in sterilized portion-sized jars the fridge, so you don't have to wait as long the next time, and it is chilled. Then, you could throw some together in a few minutes, put it back into the freezer for five mins, and enjoy it ice cold as a quick treat.

Looks brilliant for a homemade Spaghetti Eis. I once saw that Spaghetti with a white sauce (egg liqueur) and hazelnut bits, that was a Spaghetti Carbonara. Obviously if Natasha wants to try it, there are substitutes for the sauce. Maybe even looks as good with a white chocolate sauce? You can customize it any way you want. That is the fun of it.

Wunderbar! That looked amazing, and the "meatballs" are a fantastic idea. So nice that you both enjoyed it so much! :)
I don't live far from the birth place of Spaghetti Eis, and when we sometimes bought some in this or another ice cream parlour, I always wondered why it hardly melted in the hot car on the way home. There was always whipped cream on the bottom, which was partly frozen, and I assumed that this was due to the ice-cream above. But now I think that they froze the whipped cream before and this cooled the ice-cream. One of the mysteries of my childhood is now solved! :)

Hi ladies, lovely video and awesome for making that sauce yourself. That's waaaay higher quality than what we get even here in Germany.
I couldn't tell exactly if all parts of the potato ricer was metal or not. The more mass it has, especially metal, and the longer it was in the deep freezer (the colder the better) may help in preventing the ice cream from melting.
For the whipped cream, yepp, heavy whipping cream is the way to go. Also as cold as it can be without freezing. If it barely 'glooops' out of the container it's probably just cold enough.
It has to be whipped into a consistency of stiff peaks... Nooo, not 'those stiff peaks', get your minds out of the gutter...😂😂
In Germany there's even a stiffening agent called "Sahnesteif" / "cream stiffener" that gives a, well, a... stiffer... peak... ummm, that escalated fast...😂😂
But the sauce consistency, the grated white chocolate, and the Rocher meat balls... All of those were absolutely perfect.
    Loved it.
Oh, and I would definitely have not complained if I got served this at a professional ice cream parlor. 🤤❤️😉
Which is among the highest compliments from a German: "Kann man nicht meckern." / "Can't complain about it" with raised eyebrows, opened eyes, and a smiling face is pretty much the top notch compliment. 😊

😍 I love your american take on it with the "meatballs" ... and your sauce looks better than the one in our german ice cream parlours - seriously ^^ enjoy and i hope to see a video once where you prank some unaware american friends with that...should be fun 🤭 Love from Germany

You did GREAT! It looked amazing!
I made something similar a few years back for April Fools Day. It was cupcakes with frosting noodles, raspberry jam sauce, Ferraro Rocher meatballs and shaved white chocolate Parmesan 🍝 .
We need to have spaghetti eis when we're in Germany in September!!

    Great job ladies!
Also you effectively made a US version with the "meatballs" that is not truly present in the German version or irl in Italian Bolognese spagetti... so it's a US adaption and it looks stunningly well done and tasty!^^
    Best regards

My (german) grandmom always made strawberry-sauce and strawberry-marmelade. It's the same product, marmelade just with 'gelatine' on top. In twist-off-glases you can use it for more than one year. So every time we wanted 'spaghetti-ice' it took just a few seconds to make it. There was always vanilla-ice-cream in the fridge. But we didn't use white chocolate, we used coconut-flakes as 'Parmesan'.

    This looks amazing!
Oddly enough, I've nevertried to do this myself, although you can get the sauce ready-made at the groceries in Germany.
It's probably, because you can get it at almost any gelateria, but also frozen and prefabricated in smaller cups at all supermarkets.

I have to say, for a first attempt, you did a phenomenal job! 👍
In Germany, spaghetti ice cream is served in small bowls. Maybe that will help for the next attempt.
I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! 🤗
