La douceur - die Weichheit und Präzision mit der der Maestro dirigiert berührt tief in der Seele - thank you so much for sharing this wonderfull performance of Dvorák's symphonie
What was so wonderful when Jansons conducted was his expressions and expectations with every note. He was intense, emotional, sensitive and appreciative; he lived and died the music. Beautiful to see and hear.
Just Wonderful, the best ever, the haunting melodic structures within the rousing excitement and yes romantic moments are truly everything fluidly intertwined in this Fabulous sympany. A true legendary performance of sheer quality and talent. Aprivelege to hear. Michael Jay.
we miss you Jansons...
I miss too, Ich auch.
Lovely rendition!!! I love Mariss, this was recorded months before he passed away, so sad, such a loss for humanity
From my perspective, This is the best performance of the Dvorak 9th symphony. R.I.P Great Maestro!
There are not enough words in any language to explain how beautiful this music is. Dvorak was one of a kind. it's a story, an adventure, an ode to human creative abilities. AMAZING
thats right, this work an the 9. from Beethoven are bouth the beste for me I ever heard
Written in a time of sailing ships, horse and buggy, candle lit homes…. Yet it feels as new and fresh as the best Steven Spielberg movie yet to be released, maybe next year. Drenched with romanticism, it is the musical score to a grand movie that can never be made because our imagination is much wider than anything that can be captured on film. It represents the best of our natures.
42.26 to 42.49 is what it is all about

Old directors dont need large body movements, they conduct with simple and essential signals...GREAT!
What a stunning performance! This wonderful music stirs in me the greatest feelings of warmth, love and the most cherished memories. Thank you Dvorak for creating this masterpiece for everyone, for all time.
Every great musical institution in the planet is experiencing the greatest challenge of the time! Listening to this amazing performance you have to think how fortunate we were one year ago and nobody appreciated it. RIP maestro Jansons!!
0:33 I. Adagio - Allegro molto
10:42 II. Largo
23:53 III. Scherzo, molto vivace
32:27 IV. Allegro con fuoco
thank you, so thoughtful of you ❤️
Most useful comment in an symphony youtube !!!
Those moment when the 2nd flute played her solo with all her passion and love and it looks much more captivating then the 1st flute played after her, and she just know it:) One of the best versions of this masterpiece conducted by great maestro!
Every time I listen to this version, I experience the same sense of freshness and longing for one's own country ... and for Maestro Jansons! His rendition alongside the BRSO is so intense, ''con fuoco'' indeed (and not only in the last Movement). No wonder the standing ovations at the end... Thank you, Maestro! You were - and will forever be - my favourite conductor. A big THANK YOU to Het Concertgebouw too, for sharing this special moment with us, in these difficult times.
He was, and still is, THE MAESTRO par excellence
@@RhapsodyOfJoy I couldn't agree more... Actually, when I refer to him, I only use THE MAESTRO.
To be fair, although the standing ovation is more than justified, Dutch audiences tend to give standing ovations by default if a performance is any good, sadly.
Big thanks for sharing this brilliant performance by a great conductor and one of the best orchestras around now. RIP, Maestro Jansons.
This music is nothing but utterly beautiful. Even managed to bring a tear to my eye by just how beautiful this is.
AMAZING. no words to describe this music.. Miss you maestro.
Exceleent conductor and orchestra. Dvorak is one of my favourite composers as well s Beethoven, Schubert, Vivaldi, Rossini, Rimski-Korsakov, Haendel, and othkers.
9th Symphony is one of the greatest symphony.
Every conductor is unique how each one conducts . Mariss Jansons is great.
This version of 'From The New World' is so meticulously been brought to life. Beautiful, somewhat second to Celibidache's storytelling (slow flow rendering but the complexity in terms of throughput is so beautifully told from inspiration) in my opinion.
Gracias por tanto Maestro Jansons.
What an exciting experience to listen this great symphony, extremely sensible conducted
by this great old man and played by this fantastic Orchestra!
Congratulations from Germany to our friends in the Netherlands!
A splendid interpretation and performance of the Dvořák masterwork. I miss Jansons. He was a wonderful conductor. And it's always a pleasure to enjoy the great Raymond Curfs, one of the best ever on the timpani.
Holly God! This presentation gives us the strength we need now! The orchestration , percussion, strings , woods and metals at their highest levels. ..Wonderfull!
Such a compelling performance of a spectacular work. Thank you so much for making this publicly available.
Mariss Jansons D.E.P.
Great conductor, one of the best....greetings from İstanbul

My mother had a recording of the 9th which I first heard when I was about 12 years old, playing the vinyl record on my own. Can still remember the experience, 60 years later.
Wonderful symphony! I hear a little of ‘The Shire’ in the Largo, and other tunes that inspired LOTR soundtrack. Maestro Jansons seemed just as engaged as he was earlier in his career with BBC Symphony of Wales ...it shows he loved what he did, and that love of the music goes a long way to creating a great conductor. Which he surely was. RIP Maestro.
SUBLIME, Exquisita dirección Amado Profesor. Siempre en nuestro recuerdo
The beauty of the performance is beyond any words.
I hope you all take care of yourselves in these tough times. Its beautiful how music can help us so much right now ❤️
No9 is the crystallization of the musical aesthetics of Dvorak, and off the charts
astonishing performance.
Its one of the Best symphonies of Dvorak i've heard and also in the list of symphonies from other composers with excellent orchestration .
WOW!!! Words fail me...... such emotion and sheer joy! Thank you :)
A Timeless masterpiece thank you
Astonishing performance!!! ❤️🙏
Yet it completely brings the theme to resolution. An almost perfect composition
The descending notes after the main theme in the first movement are perhaps the most beautiful thing I have ever heard
Did you mean 1:10?
Everything in Dvorak is an order of magnitude more awesome
Seems to be wandering in the old USA that shows infinite expanse
there will be a better new world after covid-19
I hope so
4 movements = 4 years
Bellísima conducción! Gracias por compartirla!
Very well played - thank you!
Wonderful ❤
Bravo!!!

42.30. Otherworldly
41.39 on is epic. I wouldn’t have thought someone 2 centuries ago would climb that amazing surreal scale.
Then again the whole Scherzo is surreal too.

9:01 "Alles klinkt mooier in het concertgebouw"
Can't help but notice the music stand with a piece from Sant- Sanes on it.
Hi from Groningen
Hi))
I saw score of Saint Saens in this video, someone must have been mistaking that, that night's performance is Saint Saens' Symphony No.3 Organ lol
Why is there sheet music from Saint-Saens on the music stand in the very beginning of the clip? 😂😂
#twosetviolin
I wonder when this concert was, it surely couldn't be on Mar 24, 2020, I suppose, as the conductor passed way in December 2019?
"Tonight we kick off with the last concert Mariss Jansons conducted in The Concertgebouw. Dvořák's beloved 9th Symphony 'From the new world' by Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, recorded one year ago on 22 March 2019." It's in the video description.

0:40 timpani playing from saint saens sheet?
Because he plays the Saint-Saëns 3rd Symphony in that Concerto
all ships, prepare for total battle. but you may never understand why.
I think there is a mistake in 6:04?
or maybe i could be wrong i am not familiar with this piece
No, It's not a mistake. What sounds to your ears like a glitch is in fact a trumpet playing a rapid rising figure of three notes, outlining an F major triad, called a triplet. You hear the same melodic phrase a few seconds later at 6.13 in the horns, but the triplet now outlines a rising F sharp minor chord- as the tension mounts...

I never thought I'd say this, but this is TOO romantic an interpretation for Dvorak's music. It may work with the Russian School or some symphonic works by Brahms or Mahler, but so much grinding the bow into the strings just doesn't sound good in Dvorak. It becomes tough and ponderous instead of having a measure of Czecho-Moravian elegance.
I hear what you mean.
I agree. No life in this recording.
Building a murderer.
endless clapping of hands is really annoying.
What a shallow, horrible symphony.
Absolute Kacke, bin weg
