SURPRISE HOME MAKEOVER for my in-laws Ep 4 "Things are starting to go in place!"

- This week we are tackling a huge project to surprise home makeover for my in-laws while they are on vacation! Today we made big changes to their plywood walls & trim! The demo is almost done and we are starting to get things into place!
This is definitely a labor of love. The boys were a big help in this video, so great to see them pitching in.
girl you need a bigger roller! Love the little wooden man watching over everything.
That small roller is insane get a 12 or 18 inch.....good grief!!!
She has said in numerous of her videos that she prefers a smaller roller.
I also only use a smaller roller no matter the size of the project. It is just a better fit for me personally.
I do understand, I am a bit of a sloppy painter, doing what works best for her gets it done for sure.....

If it were my kitchen I would take that one random wall cabinet down and put a full pantry there. She doesn’t have many cabinets and you guys can build beautiful cabinets, I’ve seen them! What a beautiful gift for mom and dad!❤
You guys are crazy using that teeny roller all of the time! You need to get yourself a big kid roller, English fam!!! 😂
It kills me everytime they pull out the small roller.
It's a personal preference.
i appreciate this series for many reasons, one of which is the strong family values you all have. Secondy, I appreciate this series will finish in a week and not drag on endlessly. Keep up the good work! xx
if the time crunch is impossible, buy a couple days by booking a gorgeous hotel in the city in which the tour ends and let them think that’s the surprise.
That is ACTUALLY a really cool idea if they can swing the expense and need an extra day & evening before going to pick up Mom and Dad on the the following day!!!

The transformation is beginning to reveal itself!!! You guys have been getting so much done in breakneck time! And it is lovely already!! I had a very long day of hard work and driving for over two hours today too. I came home exhausted and hurting but did I go rest? No!! I had to stay up and watch your video!! Having gone through an almost full home reno mysekf, I feel myself reliving all the painstaking work and fatigue along with you. Tonight was no different except it is doubled! I feel mine and yours!! But it’s all so worth it. There is joy in accomplishment and I’m feeling that along with you as well. I want it to be tomorrow already so I can do this all again with you and see more of this project! I’m addicted!!!! ❤❤❤❤

How can anyone not love watching you two and the boys. I started watching you in 2019 (is that right?) when you bought the mini mobile home, totally gutting it and restoring it to serve your family csmping trips. Then you remodeled the front porch, them the inside of the house. Then one day, out of the blue someone came knocking on your door, offering you a price to buy your home, that you couldnt say no to, (who has that happen?) That opened the door fir you to move to where you are now. That became a reality for you long before you ever thought it would happen. I remember when you reached your first 1K subscribers. So much different. So bright and homey! Hope you're doing a flat ceiling paint. Flat finish will hide the little chips and dings because it won't reflect light and shadow.
I'm just anxious as all get out to see the end result. Mom and Dad are just going to flip!!!

Wish I could be there helping . I love doing what you are doing. Just some suggestions, primer can be your friend. Get a bigger roller. It will go faster.

The paint alone makes a HUGE difference. You all will deserve a holiday after this!
I think you might paint the upper kitchen cupboards mustard yellow and the lower ones reddish brown to match the splashback tiles. Those outside sheds would be pretty painted like beach huts.
I think you should put strips of wood where the cracks are in the side walls.

Looking good! Also I know it’s not your style haha but priming helps a ton so you use less paint. Primer fills in all the pores so the paint isn’t getting sucked in too. And more even coverage and finish. Ive experimented with and without primer, and it always looks and lasts better painted primer first. I usually use Kilz

❤ you are all amazing to do this for your momb and dad!!!I have learned alot from just watching I used to work on our house a Sears house from 1908 or earlier but then I went through a brain tumour surgery in 2010 it's not cancerous but not always curable it grew and I had a couple of seizures so in 2013 I had another surgery and medication to not get them then after a while we tried a new kind of chemotherapy with a pill then radiation,for 30 days every morning it was exhausting but then I went into remission and I have an MRI every 6 months all was going well then I started having falls and they didn't know why then my husband of 23 years left me now my ,22 year old son lives with me,my 25 year old daughter lives in Toronto but my son has been mean to me lately and I am in the hospital again because I fractured my right ankle really bad had surgery on it and had a plaster cast then a fibreglass cast which was so colourful now I have an air cast and I'm working with physiotherapy to walk again but I can't do alot anymore like painting and decorating I live in a Four Plex apartment I can't even get outside due to stairs so I am on the list for an apartment with more things suited for me now anyway I am hoping to meet a man who is handy,my ex is a church pastor his carpentry skills were worse then mine😂 I hope all goes well! I am amazed at all you have accomplished thus far and how much you still have to complete. Knowing your visions, whatever you do, it will be stunning. I have slowly been working on updating my home with new paint. Eventually there will be a major kitchen renovation but I can’t do it myself anymore. I just hate what’s here from when I moved in 3 years ago. It will get done, just at a much slower pace and as my budget allows. Good work guys.

You are doing such a great job. I know youve got a time frame however did you know about cable or electrical covers, for the wires exposed on the walls. It will just look neater. Im from Australia and I know of these ....D-Line 30 x 15mm 2m White Adhesive Cable Management Cover. Im sure if you googled them you would find something similar in Canada.
I think you’re painting the kitchen cabinets with lowers in darker gray and uppers lighter gray with stainless hardware.

I’m thinking you are going to,paint the cabinets two different colors, a light on the top cabinets and a darker color on the bottom using two colors from the backsplash you are making. And you are going to change the knobs. 😊
