My mom set out a table and a donate box out by the road for some of the extra veggies. We had several families near us that could use the extra food and many people will not say they need help. Any donations she received she would use for the next years garden.
Again you constantly amaze me with everything you do. You all are the most positive people with everything. Thanks for always being an inspiration for all of us. Love the English family.
⭐🌟⭐BE CAREFUL with tropical plants. Many, such as Monstera, are TOXIC to pets. While dogs usually leave plants alone, your cats will see them as a toy. Please keep your beautiful Bengals far away from your Monstera. Your garden plants are looking amazing! It's awesome you can harvest moss from your own property. Such an incredibly gorgeous homestead. XOXO 🤟❤
Wow! I never knew that the ‘Pathos Vine’ would use a moss pole! I have about 10 Pathos vines, thanks for the info on how to make the moss poles! ❤ Many types of houseplants need to become ‘root bound’ in order to produce healthy (above ground) growth. It’s always best to start planting in smaller pots, then, up pot the plant as it matures, to a larger pot. Wish that when I was much younger, I’d gone into the Horticulture field at college. 😂 The gift of knowledge about plants is inherited for me…my mom and dad were both naturals at it. ❤️🥰
Wonderful plant tutorial! Tfs. I'm keeping this episode to watch again & again! I have bought a lot of the poles from Amazon for my dghtr(300+house plants), wish we had access to forage moss, you are blessed. BTW - what can't you do? Lol. Elysia you are AMAZING! Hugs from Chris in Ohio🙏💙
Everytime we visited my grandparents, my grandma had something canned to give each family member. She always saved a pack of country ham to cook for my dad, canned peaches for my mom, she always baked me funny looking sweet potatoes, and my brother homemade applesauce. It us something I will never forget.
I learned the same thing with my monstera plants about the soil to use too … I need to do moss poles to with mine . I tried 1 times with DIY pole and broke a big part but I was able to propagate it so plus side I have 2 monstera plants now , I also had to putt grow lights because my home really has no natural light and I feel I need to paint my wall a light color (maybe that silly thinking light might bounce off I don’t know ) lol … you do have beautiful plants … thank you posting how you did your moss poles ….
You two are living the good life. You take such care to make sure all your animals and plants thrive!! The melons would love living by the beach, especially if the soil is sandy. Are you going to save some of your cute white scalloped squashes /pumpkins for fall decor? Thank you for the orchid bark mulch tip and your gardening tutorial in general. I’ve learned so much and so many different things from you guys over the years!! 🤟🤟❤
So happy for you guys with your gardenS gardening in Tx is so tricky to figure out! It gets so Hot so Fast!! We moved here from Utah which was much more predictable for gardening. I have a monstera plant in Austin, Tx area. I guess our humidity here makes a big difference because I have done nothing with it other than water once a week, and it has grown 6 leaves in less than a year.
Those are pretty cool, a good idea. I'm so jealous of your woods, with all the moss and ferns. I'm in Florida, gulf coast inland and of course we have to buy moss and fern. It's pretty hot in our climate for it to grow like it does in your area. Good idea!
My mother-inlaw called the white squash pittypan. She wouuld peal and chunk them and stir fry them with onion. Sometimes she did a medley with yellow and zucchini.
I was just coming on here to say that. I have had to be really careful about which houseplants I grow because one of my cats loves to chew on them. Many are toxic to cats😥
CAN YOU GET BOGENVILLA IN NS??? It’s a beautiful plant with long vines and FUSCIA colored leaves. It would also need a Moss pole. Great idea for plants. 😊🤟🏼💕🙏🏼
Have you considered using Miracle-Gro to feed your plants during the growing season? I use it in my garden & when I water my house plants. They're crazy with blooms & big leaves. Just mix in water & "grow"! ❤
The plant looks great. I don’t have a green thumb at all so I enjoy seeing other people’s plants. Was wondering how the kittens are doing with the plants. Any time I tried to have plants or cut flowers my cats would chew on them. After some research I found many plants and flowers are highly toxic to cats. This caused me to have to hide the cut flowers whenever i left the house. The artificial flowers would disappear one at a time from arrangements. The cats loved playing with them.
Alesha I can't get to your page without going to someone else's comment I'm not sure why . I just wanted to congratulate you on all your plants in your greenhouse. I need to build some raised beds so I can work in the beds . Prayers and Love ❤️ From Oklahoma
Careful with the Miracle Grow soil on indoor plants! I've seen horror stories from people who have gotten different pests from their soil, especially fungus gnats!!
Elisha, I know you have overcome family problems or are dealing . I'm asking for p4ayers from you because I'm sure you understand. Thank you to all that try to help me.😊
You probably already know, quite a lot of tropicals are poisonous to cats. The kittens may not care, as some cats leave them alone, but thought I'd mention it. Poinsettia at Christmas are poisonous too.
Ok / I had to pause your video to make this comment : I see another revenue stream for you in all that moss !!! Pick it, dry it , package it and sell it for a bit less than the stores … you’ll make a killing ??!!! ❤
Lovely, you need to very careful with potting mix. It can give you legionaries disease if it gets into your lungs. I loath masks, but it’s a good idea to wear one when potting plants
Elysia..youve got to watch this English guy talking about plants like yours and the towers you made.. he's a hoot..very strange but funny... it's called "I stopped killing Philodendron once i learned this". By Sheffield made plants.. he's a hoot.
Maybe don’t put all your eggs in one basket - or plants in one raised bed I suppose. The wind and salt air off the Atlantic will be hard on young plants if not sheltered regardless if they get heat.
You should build a fence around your garden. Or you're going to be feeding the wild life there. Not a good idea to invite wild life.bad things can happen to your animals. Stay safe out there and hugs and love to you and your family 🌻🌻🌻
Did anyone else see a bunny rabbitt hop by when Elysia was putting moss in her moss pole?
🐇at 18:23 all the way back & middle, hopping out of tall grass from left to right
Awwww. I missed it!
Y’all I don’t see the bunny. What corner is he in?
@@carolecook1116thank you!!! I found him. So cute.
Yes, I saw the 🐇!

So thoughtful of her.❤
So kind and so genius!

We fed our chickens old melons and cucumbers. Double yolks every time after they had them.
This is really cool and good to know! Thank you.

When you do make your garden plot at your house, I need to see some DIY scarecrows! What a fun family project that would be!
I didn’t notice a drainage hole in your pot…that can cause root rot and kill your beautiful plant. Great job on the moss pole!
It's a good thing you have all of that moss just feet away!

Your little Spanish moss farm is beautiful. I would be out there every day just listening to the water.
You are extra sweet to have re-homed your plants from the last home 🪴🌺🪴
🇨🇦our dog and cats get pumpkin (cooked!!!) EVERY day!!! Gut health and more!❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
Our critters get pumpkin too but raw, and previously frozen, home grown.
You absolutely amaze me at what you and Phillip can do. I want to live by you guys. 😊
Me too!
16 minutes in and I'm looking at hardware cloth still hearing "moss bowl" and now I'm laughing at myself as it clicks that you're making moss POLES
Who knew, and I just love that you collected the moss from your own property. So cool!
Don't forget to harden your plants off for about a week before you plant them. I've had tomatoes die because I didn't harden them off properly.
Your moss pole looks great!!!
I get so happy when your notifications pop up!😊
So do I!
Me too!!!😀

Your moss pole is so cool. I’ve never seen one before.
Both bengals ❤❤❤❤❤ so cute

I have a plant like that I call it a cheese plant. Thanks Elysia for all the tips I to have plenty moss growing so I must make a Moss pole.

Might this be a good business for the boys? Harvest, process, dry, package to sell at the Christmas craft show?
How interesting. You always keep me entertained. Lol 🤟

that’s a lot of veggies to plant, your gonna be busy. Good luck!
What a great tip you've given us!!❤
Whatever plants you add indoors check that they’re not toxic to cats.
Beautiful!!! Great Job! I’ve started watching other videos but yours are the best. I’ve seen so far. ❤
Wow, thank you!
Your family will probably live forever with your wonderful connection to nature. You are such an inspiration. 😊
You need to make a little gnome village there!!
All your plants are looking good!💯

oh my hahaha
😊👋👍
Seems like those starters are way late to be planted?
not where we live :) Many people are just starting to get things in the ground this week :)
I'm trying to remember an old proverb about sea salt levels at the coast that damage seedlings?

Our winter starts closer to January :) We will be starting soon
What do you use for fertilizer on your plants!
I will double check the name for you but its a tropical plant fertilizerlizer :)
You said the leaves face front so how do they attach to the pole?
Did you get your mom and dads kitchen done
Does your pot need any drainage holes?
yes

Now that you have the cats you may want to try and keep them away from your monstara-they are harmful to cats if they eat them.
I can just see your plant getting sunburned
right up until you made a pole, I thought you were saying moss bowl 🤦♀
