I cannot believe how fortunate you were to find all those quilts. Super blessed! They are incredible. I hope someone buys these who can finish them to perfection!
Those quilts brought tears to my eyes! My mama made handmade quilts as I was growing up! Each one of us & my grandparents rec’d them as gifts. All HAND stitched & made with so much love❤
I’m a quilter and I am so amazed at the box of quilt tops you got for $10!!! Double wedding ring, two of them! Grandmothers flower garden!!! Trip around the world. So amazing.
If you want to keep one there are people who will quilt it for you. My grandmother made each of her 5 grandchildren a quilt for our wedding presents. My sister and I wanted cross stitch so she got the pink colors and I got the blues! The 3 brothers got appliqués. I used to use mine as a bedspread but now just a throw. Precious memories seeing her quilt. The cross stitch ones took a really long time. A true act of love. She's in heaven now😊😇 My personal experience includes going to a church in Switzerland. It was the English church and I was in my twenties with a toddler. All the English speakers got together from various countries ( all married to Swiss men😅) the older ladies had to keep reminding us to quilt because we just kept talking 😅. The children were in the same room with a lady watching them and we were served tea and biscuits or crumpets etc. It was a great memory as well.😊
That is a Wedding Ring quilt! Also, when you find fabric stripes all bundled up like that, they are either already cut for a quilt or they are called "Fat Quarters". Quilters love them!
You do not want to hear all my wonderful stories about my Mom,s Quilting days... Oh she hand sewed all of them and were so beautiful.... A tear runs down my cheek... I do miss her dearly.... Though I am blessed with so many great memories ....
Matt it was wonderful seeing you show your knowledge of quilts having grown up with your Momma being a quilter/sewer 😊. I remember in one of your old videos in Cali when you found a brand new sewing machine still in the box & never used 🙃 You knew exactly what you had found but were going to run it past her after you purchased 😉 You were so excited & so were we! 🤘I loved ALL the quilts ❤ They were AMAZING FINDS for such a great price 👏 Good looking out Kayla 😍 You always notice some of the best stuff while digging. Ya'll have a blessed day 🙏 😇💙🙌
❤❤❤❤❤ Wow those quilts!!!! My mom aunt and both Gmas use to quilt..all of them have passed away so many memories seeing those!!! LOTS of HOURS in those quilt tops and probably memories as well…. Brought back so many memories 😢❤
Those quilts remind me of the ones my grandma would make for all the kids in the family! She would use some of our baby clothes, baby blankets, and materials that had our favorite animals, colors or prints on it! 🥰🥰🥰
Well this says alot about how much I love your channel... I'm a minimalist, hate shopping but I can't stop watching you two! Lolololololo. Sending love to you both from Massachusetts!!! 🥰❤️😆
Had to stop the video to go buy the critter carnival. I just can’t imagine living another week without that critter carnival ha ha my grandkids are homeschooled and will really appreciate this.
Those quilt tops were the deal of the year! You hit the jackpot. When looking at fabric, as long as there's 1/4 - 1/2 yard get it, theme it, bundle it. We quilters love that. Good quality is important. You'll be able to tell Kayla! It's called a scrappy quilt when you use all different fabrics. The wedding ring quilt Kayla liked and the one Matt liked being called Grandmother’s Garden. Both are a bit difficult patterns.
The quilts are beautiful. They are older well loved patterns. I would love to bid on the wedding ring quilts. I’m so glad you shared them with us. They made me happy and brought back memories. Thank you😊
You’re so sweet Kayla I love to hear when you interact with your followers most people turn the camera off when they need their followers. But I like to hear when people say hey!
Hi Kayla and Matt I have a question for you? What is your EBAY ADDRESS 🤔 NAME? I have wanted to buy one of your purses but I don't know the store name 😕. Could you leave your name in a comment for me? Thank you so much love your videos!! Keep them coming. Blessings your friend Joyce from California HUGS ❤️
Those quilt tops are SO AMAZING!! That’s an awful lot of hard work! And the family just discarded them for $10.00. 🤷♀️ If my Grandma or Mother made those I would TREASURE them.
I feel so sad that those quilts were so under valued by those women. I’m a quilter and it breaks my heart. Find a quilt shop and ask them for someone who does longarm quilting. Have them quilt these up for yourselves!!
Fantastic advice! Soooo many people bought high priced pups during Covid and once the pups grew up and weren't so cute, they got dumped! Check online for the various Rescue agencies and find yours! :)
No. Don't be fooled by these shelters that won't put down aggressive dogs, then hide their bite and aggression history, and foist off a pit mix to the unsuspecting. Buy from a licensed seller, so you know what you're getting. How can you possibly find the time it takes to cater to a dog? Your home will no longer be sanitary . I personally don't buy from anyone who isn't a petfree household.
I have a quilt that was started by my great great grandmother, the top was finished by my great grandmother and finally completed and given to me by my grandmother when I turned 30. I was the last grandchild in the family to get one. Some of the fabric is from the early 1900s. I love the ones you found are done by HAND, not machine stitched. So much love in those quilts.
I have one double wedding ring quilt that my great great grandmother made and another that my mother made. Love them so much! I’d love to buy those quilt tops and pay someone to quilt them for me.
Those quilts are a Fantastic buy!!!!! I have 9 that my Great Grandmother made! She made it out of flour bags and scraps from dresses and other clothes she made for her family. She could make a dress just by looking at a person. I love watching your garage selling videos.
I quilt and to me piecing is the easy part. Putting the backing on, quilting it and binding it is harder. It’s also very expensive to buy the supplies for quilting the quilt. It is also very expensive to have it quilted. Very few people can actually quilt.
It used to be called “Dry Humor”. Love it and both of them‼️ I also love Kayla’s skirts with the different colors! With her size, they just look absolutely great‼️
I have to say that you are the cutest couple ever! I always thought you got along so well and should be together. Makes me smile all the time! Thank you both for sharing your shopping and selling experiences. SMH how I’m so addicted to your show. Now I watch everyone. Keep smiling brightly now. God abundant blessings, favor, prosperity and peace.
Always love your videos. Also love seeing what’s going out and how much you got for them. It’s impossible to shop like you guys here in the uk but I love seeing you do it! Glad to see you getting more organised in the new house too I don’t know how you do it!!
Kayla! You should have kept that green onyx bracelet (43:31) it matched your green nail polish youve been wearing! Would have looked gorgeous together! But out the door it went! lol
Vintage towel sets with fringe edges from the 70s-80s are hot sellers right now. I bought 3 sets at an estate sale, and listed them. I sold them quickly.
The quilt tops... My grandmother and aunt were always working on one. At first, it was their own clothing they were re-purposing. As they got older, squares were pre-cut and purchased, they would use those. I remember always seeing a quilt stretched out as they hand stitched the pieces. I have mine from when I turned 16 years old (late 1970s) and then at our wedding we received another (1987) but at that time it wasn't their clothing but the pre-cut pieces. While both are cherished - the one from THEIR clothing holds its special place in my heart, as I am with them each time I see the quilt. Both are now in storage while we are in between houses - but they'll both be coming out when we are settled.
I had a honeycomb quilt that my aunt made me when I got married. she made each of her nieces and nephews quilts when they got married, and there were 9 of us. I was so sad when my quilt got damaged in a flood. I had it dry cleaned but it was never the same. Those are rare because nobody quilts much anymore
My mom was a quilter. She made hundreds of them. Some of them were color coordinated and some of them were not. It’s a matter of just getting rid of what you have using what you have. That’s pretty much probably where they started from was using old stuff that they had laying around. And yes, doing all of that piecing together is time consuming and then sewing them together but then you have to put in the fill and have a back piece put on. It’s a lot of work all together.
Yes to auctioning the quilts! You'll get more. I'm a quilter. I appreciate that you appreciate the work involved in making them!! Am impressed with Matt's quilt knowledge. My mom wore Nina Ricci's L'air du Temps. She had the double flacon bottle made by Lalique.
Crafters, even paper crafters would love the fabric pieces. I'm 80 and never quilted, much to my sorrow now, but I loved to sew. I don't sew now, but I do enjoy paper crafting. 🥰🥰🥰
I live in MA. It’s strange I never see yard sales in the summer. Not even a lot in the spring. Fall is all about the yard sales though. I wonder why? It seems like the heat is similar. 🤷♀️

All I can say is y’all are crushing finding all the goods! The quilt toppers are amazing. Several years ago I had my husbands grandmother s quilt top professional quilted and it was very pricey but so worth it to have a quilt of her handy work. I looked today and did not see them in your eBay auctions. Hope to see them soon! I know it kind of early but so anxious for a house tour after y’all settle in. Want to see all of your fantastic collections.😀👍🏻❤️🐝
My daughter quilts they are beautiful we have a quilting store here in our town where you can buy fabrics but the best part is you can take your tops in and pick out your bottoms and they have a large machine that sew (quilts) them together. That’s the final step and that makes them beautiful.
You guys! Those quilt tops! That's such tidy work, so fresh with the colors, and unused! All they need are the batting in the middle and the backing then the quilting and binding. There will be so many quilters out there who'll want to snap those up! Excellent score!
I’m here in Redding, CT. Hot, sticky and muggy on July 11th. Just heading outdoors to feed and care for my farm animals. I’ve been doing just before sun up and sun down.
Ok, I have to weigh in on the quilts. That $10 cost for ALL OF THEM!!!!! just hurt my soul for the makers of them!!!! Those are just precious memories of the skills of some dear ladies (and I say ladies because for the most part men only became a part of the quilting community more recently) and they are so worth more than the $2 or less for each quilt top that they charged you!!! Yes, they still need to be quilted, but oh my, the beauty of the tops….especially those Wedding Ring tops and the Grandmother’s Flower Garden. I am so very envious of you for having them now. ❤

You are killing me! I quilt and those quilts are so beautiful. They all look like my grandmother’s, she made them the way they were meant to be made with scraps of fabric. I’m the new way and buy my fabric all coordinated! I hope those quilts are finished properly!
Love watching your channel. I had to laugh at the "Hobo" bag. The forerunner of that purse came out in the let 50's and was called a bucket purse. I did lots of cleaning in order to get one. It was 1958 and I was in the 6th grade. They were very popular.
Some of the fabrics on those quilts could be material called Aunt Gracie. I quilt and would die to have found those, antique quilt tops are very pricey. Nice find
