I will admit watching them go through each item tells me that they aren't prepared for a buyer like you. They are used to the person that buys no more than a handful of items. Glad to see you keep your cool during all that. Stay safe.

I’m with ya on the uncomfortable feeling when they go through each item. Especially if there’s people in line behind ya. Seems every item has to have a comment with it too, like attachment issues and how that’s an expensive brand. Feels like a show for passerby’s in a way and you just waiting for the “this is a lot of clothes?” comment. “You must have a big family?”

I don't go to a lot of garage sales so I source a lot of thrift stores including Goodwill. I was checking out at the goodwill last week and the guy ringing up my stuff was about to scan this ll bean wool vest and he makes a comment, "Oh! I was going to get this. you got this over there?" yeah i did... and he says again, "yeah I was gonna get this." lol I'm just like ?? it was super awkward, but he rang it up for me lol. I just didnt even know what to say.. I'm sorry?? its mine now?? lol

$198 for that amount is a great deal. I don't blame them for going through everything. Yes, they can price however they want because it’s their sale, BUT Ashley can feel however she want about it and say so because it’s her video! Not sure why some are upset about her speaking her mind. A church yard sale shouldn’t have so much feeling or attachment for each single item. That’s not typical pricing method at those types of sales. It’s usually like “ALL CLOTHING $1” or whatever. But they can run their sale their way and Ashley can run her videos her way.

Their process was ridiculous! Shoppers spend time picking out items and THEN the prices are set by committee at checkout? Such poor planning! All that stuff was donated & the amount of time they wasted checking just one person out was just nuts. Those sales are always priced by category (jeans X$, etc) & some items with individual prices like a nwt coat or non-clothing item. If that sale had been really busy, the checkout line would have been a mile long simply because of their process.

I just found a pair of Nike Retro 1s at my local goodwill, did some research and looked at lots of pics to make sure they were real. I paid $25 for them, sold them for $98 and they didn’t pass eBay’s authentication process. I was shocked. It was a learning experience. Oh man, that was painful watching them pull each thing out and ask you about prices lol. I was really hoping they'd just pull stuff out to get an overall item count and go from there but no. cringey! But you did well not to be sassy with them haha.

Of course they did not want to do a bulk deal without knowing what you had. Also, they have probably never done a bulk deal. They are not professional sellers. What would you have offered in a bulk deal? BTW, you are beautiful.

You have to think some people are dishonest and would possibly put very expensive items in the bottom and fill the top with kids clothes or whatever

Really the issue with the taking it out and everything I'm sure they do that with everyone. And you know you're going to make bookoo money so just let it go and talk about it anymore. That makes a sound as you talk more and more about it doesn't sound good. I love watchi you.

Seems to be more and more like that now a days. Sellers are savvy to the buy and resell market more and more and they want more for things because of it. Kind of ruins it for the rest of us regular folks.

Wow.....I was so surprised to see you brought up the fact that they went individually, as opposed to a bulk deal 3 times. This is their sale/fundraiser and can handle it the way they please. If you have a sale/fundraiser you can handle yours the way you please. I don't think it took forever for them to do item by item.....you felt it did, because you were miffed that it wasn't a bulk deal. You got alot of great deals that will yield you a large amount of income. Be thankful!

I guess when you e already spent many hours there going through everything the last thing you want to do is stand around while they go through it too. It wasn’t about here getting a better deal she said name your price it was a time thing and I don’t blame her one bit.

When you realize your comment basically boils down to “Don’t have a negative opinion of the way other people do things” but YOU have a negative opinion of how HaHM commented on the way they do things. Edited to add: That Be Thankful really rubbed me the wrong way. I have never once seen a HaHM video where she doesn’t mention her gratitude for the things she finds, her sales, her ability to make a living and be with her family, her husband and her kiddos. She exudes gratitude with everything she says and does.

Why is a church selling donated items when people need things? The church was built on the foundation of helping the people. You donate to give to those who need clothing or other things.
