That's a great idea to use tote bags to put gifts in!! Wow you found a lot of great stuff!!! That's another good idea is to do your Christmas shopping at the thrift store. I brought a Colombia coat for $12 at Goodwill. I looked online, Colombia coats cost between $100 to $200. It's sustainable to shop at thrift stores too!

I found a new with tags pair of Tommy John pjs that went to my mom ($6) and a never opened Beatles puzzle ($3) and new with tags Atlanta Braves polo ($12) for my dad! I also thrift Christmas puzzles throughout the year to turn into advent calendars for my friends and family! I love treasure hunting for gifts at the thrift and when you find brand new items who knows the difference??

Your gifts look new. Our Goodwill store has more used and old looking stuff. The handbags are very old looking and their prices are very high. For a few dollars more you can buy brand new here in my state. But you do get some rare finds. I go anywhere it is fun to look.

Unfortunately Goodwill treats their employees horribly unless they are high up corporate employees. The warehouse workers are overworked and they are so underpaid. I worked for them. I try to avoid them as much as possible.
I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with Good Will where you live. The employees at the Good Will I shop at are wonderful to each other and to their customers. I live in Columbia, MO..
Goodwill’s are too expensive you can even find blouses at Wallmark on clearance cheaper than you can the ones at the Goodwill and they are given to them seniors can’t even afford them seniors don’t even get a discount anymore at the Goodwill’s
I don’t entirely disagree but I can guarantee anything I bought here I would have had to pay a lot more for a comparable item new. Walmart has very cheap clothes but they are also poorly made in fast fashion sweatshops. Goodwill Houston has affordable clothes / items secondhand. When I shop there I am shopping more sustainably and supporting their mission. If shopping as cheap as possible is the goal Goodwill may not be ideal. However you can get a lot for your money and support a great mission.
How could it be staged? I’m so confused by this I went to three different Goodwill Locations and spent time looking to find the items I found. I also brought y’all along for the ride. The only exact item was a cashmere sweater. Everything else was style bundles where I went with what I found that fit my thrift list agenda.
Thrifting for people who really needed it used to be such a great thing and then all of a sudden resellers came along and those who truly didn’t need to shop there ruined it for everyone else.
I don't shop at thrift stores often but bring a trash bag and put what you buy in those and then go to a laundry mat and wash anything before bringing home.
