Roberta Flack's smash hit single "First Time I Ever Saw Your Face" was featured in actor/director Clint Eastwood's blockbuster psychological /horror/thriller movie "Play Misty for Me" released back in 1971. At any rate, Roberta's voice is beautifully smooth. 💋👠🎭🎤🎵🎶🔈💎🎧

I was 12 when this song was released. There are slightly different arrangements, but all of them are stunning and unique. Yes, her "phrasing" of the lines makes it twice as powerful as anyone else's rendition.

Gordon Lightfoot does a great cover of this at a completely different tempo, but still captures the feeling and the soul.

Most reactiions I've seen are to this live versiion which no doubt is great. But the original recording is among the most moving love songs in the history of popular music. I think the original recording is superior to this version.

You might want to do a crazy popular song I guess, Hi Ren by Ren. Incredible talent, but… crazy, never seen anything like it! You have a very charismatic personality for the stage!

@@terri2494......she didn't even get my honorable mention list consisting of Chaka Kahn, Patty Labelle, Ann Wilson, and Minnie Ripperton.

@@terri2494 Barbra is on another level having been a one-of-a-kind voice, actor, director and controlled her own destiny and keeping it with songs in at least 5 decades of hits and winning more awards than any other most females ever in the entertainment business. Diva, Icon and not merely a great voice with a couple hits... not to slight Reberta in any way.... this song is forever hers and she will be remembered. Just again there is a level few reach that Barbra did in here life.... nothing political even can remove that. So she would be in a most elite class where all prejudices need not apply.
She is one of 17 people to have received an Emmy, an Oscar, a Tony and a Grammy and she also has did get a EGOT besides. Her first hit song - People in 64 made it into the Library of Congress for National saving also.
Many great female singers that deserve recognition. Few are as ICONS of so many genres of entertainment and contributions they made to even more than their voice talent that is also in a elite class. She sadly retains strict copyrights and a very few movie snippets or awards appearances can be reacted to. Add here earlier movies including comedies ... with Disney are un-reactable basically.
