Just last night I was watching your reaction to another Cult song and was lamenting how few Cult reactions there are, only to wake up to this! Excellent! The Cult one of my faves- saw live in 1990, and I have met Ian Astbury and had long hair for 10 years after being inspired and influenced by him. "Spirit Walker" is an amazing song from their first album that even many fans have never listened to- highly recommend, along with every song from "Electric"- esp "King Contrary Man"
Thank you, @jas137. What was the other Cult song you were watching Harri react to? Prior to selecting Love Removal Machine, I selected Fire Woman and She Sells Sanctuary. Harri has reacted to both of those. "Rain" is one of my September selections.
@@pncombies Well, now that you mention it, I already watched both of those Harri reactions! I love all of "Love", but "Revolution" is the second most impactful song to me from the album, and I can see Harri really loving every song from Electric, but another impactful song (for me) is "Ciao baby" from Sonic Temple. However, as I mentioned, for me, "King Contrary Man" is above them all, despite the brilliance of "Wildflower" and "Peace Dog", and, as I mentioned, "Spiritwalker" is a true hidden gem! By the way, another favorite band of mine that often flies under the radar: Psychedelic Furs.
I absolutely love this band. This track sounds like AC/DC because Rick Rubin produced it and he was deliberately aiming for that type of sound. A stripped down, straight rock approach which was really different from the earlier Cult recordings. It alienated many early fans but I think it kicks a**!🖖🏼
This was back when tower records was still around. I went in the day that this album was released and the guy at the store told me yeah this is Rick Rubin's latest project. He was just getting started and had made a name for himself with the Beastie boys so I went ahead and bought into it. That's the decision I ever made on a CD! Peace!
Yes, the earlier versions of the songs had some of the NewWave vibes in them but with Rick they became raw power. I like those versions too but Electric was a great album. I love all of The Cult's styles. The testosterone in some of the songs is off the charts like in this one.
From the 1987 album, "Electric", this was first recorded in a radio session, then again with a different arrangement for their 3rd album, "Peace". This song's main riff has been compared to " Start Me Up" by The Stones. Ian Astbury said AC/DC's, " Back in Black", had a heavy influence on this song. Many of The Cult's hits were based on 3 chords D,C,G, including She's Sells Sanctuary, Rain, and this hit. AC/DC and Metallica used this in their songs also. Great lyrics, vocals and instrumentation make this so great. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Neal. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
See them live on the sonic temple tour. Most surprising and fantastic show I have ever seen. Only band that had the same energy and feel was U2 during the War and Unforgettable Fire tours. The Cult am all time incredible live performance band. Ian is an incredible front man and his energy plays to the crowd magically.
This was the third Cult song from my triple-shot. "Fire Woman" and "She Sells Sanctuary" preceded "Love Removal Machine". I chose this as one of my August selections. "Peace Dog? If I was a betting man I'd put my money on "Rain"!
Ian Astbury's voice sounds a lot like Jim Morrison's. Another singer that gives off Jim Morrison vibes is Glenn Danzig. You can tell they meant to capitalize on this because the design of one of the early Danzig albums is much like the design of the first Doors album!!
It's just fire, in the 80s there was a lot of such music, glamorous hard rock, great, I recommend Harri for the reaction "Lita Ford - Larger Than Life" ruclips.net/video/lMnse76H840/видео.html
What I love about The Cult is that everything is different. I loved the Southern Death Cult, loved Dreamtime and most of all I loved Love. Then Electric came along, what a fucking rocking album. I suppose though, even as an old goth, my favourite album by them is Sonic Temple, this rivals ANY rock album from that era , it's a classic. What a band.
He's got a great voice, HUGE "PRESENCE", undeniable Charisma
Excellent reaction!!! This song just slaps!!! Incredible.
Another fantastic English frontman with enormous stage presence.
I got to see The Cult open for Metallica in 1988 in Vermont. What a show.
Ian Astbury is the greatest singer in rock ! Thank you Harri you killed this reaction again sir - l love your reactions!

I love the Cult so much! Have seen them live twice in the early 90s, they were so good. They still tour!
“Edie (Ciao Baby)” is another great Cult song if you haven’t already heard it.
Ian belting baby, baby, baby, baby ❤❤❤❤
This is a great song, cant believe it goes back to the 80's, good times, i hope you saw the video.
First seen the Cult live in Edinburgh 1987 on that tour, totally amazing Band.
Ian Astbury is a GREAT FRONT MAN
fantástico !!!
Love the ~ AWESOME SOLO ~ comment on the lyrics video 🙂 That is all , carry on . 🙂

Absolutely Amazing Band. Glad enjoy them as much as I do. Criminally Underrated Hard Riff Rock Band with Great Vocals Guitars Drums & Bass
Great reaction & great song 🎸🔥❤️
There's a story that I heard that they were recording this album in the sane building/ studio that AC/ DC were recording at the same time

Thanks as always, Mary!
It’s actually about Ian’s motorcycle and his addicted he got to riding it.
This whole album is 🔥
SNOW! Snow removal Machine!

Another great song by The Cult is "Wild Hearted Son". Ian's voice just soars
Cult is CULT❤❤❤❤❤❤
This whole album is great, and the LOVE album before this one, i can listen to their albums from beginning to the End
Another great selection Neal! I really enjoyed this one. Thanks Neal and Harri 🌺✌️
Insanely great!!
He sounds like freddie mercury! Saw them in 87, best gig i ever seen....
Ive heard the original name of the band was SOUTHERN DEATH CULT, i saw this tour in 10th grade, and GNR opened for them
Moya is a song by SDC
@westtxmutt loved them since I was a teenager in the 80's, but honestly never heard anything by SDC
I requested this one MANY times! Glad you finally got to it 👍. Next up from the Cult should be Peace Dog from the same album.
This was the third Cult song from my triple-shot. "Fire Woman" and "She Sells Sanctuary" preceded "Love Removal Machine". I chose this as one of my August selections. "Peace Dog? If I was a betting man I'd put my money on "Rain"!
Great song, I used to jam it on Guitar Hero 😂🤘🏻
No one has done a reaction to Bowie's Tin Machine - Heaven's in here yet. You would love it.
The whole album ELECTRIC went full AC/DC!!

For a few years, circa 2001, Ian WAS front man of the 21st Century Doors, and toured with them
You should hear Chester Bennington do this with camp Freddy
