Such an underrated band!!! The Cult were amazing and had so many great songs. I really appreciate you India for reacting to their songs lately. I would definitely recommend you watch 'Sweet Soul Sister' and 'Edie (Ciao baby) next. Wonderful reaction. Love your channel India!! 😊❤
Jemma James No doubt. I was referring to this song and the album “Electric”. I love “Love” and prefer it over Electric but that is not what my statement was about.
It's my favorite cult track as well, and it never got the air play like fire woman, and love removal. Maybe that's why it's my favorite I didn't hear it as many times growing up.
I can remember dancing to this at the all ages alternative club. I was 16. My friends father used to sing Snow Removal Machine to irritate us. I’m Canadian. Actually this got me up dancing. I tried my goth moves. Thanks for helping during isolation.
LoL. Yeah, I know what you mean, I have been trying to get ANY reactor to do something from Rob Zombie for like three months now... NOTHING, NOTTA, nope... Ha. Well hell, whatever then... Still, the Cult is a damn good consolation prize I think... LoL.
When I seen what song you were doing, I just had to watch! I do love this song, and the " Cult" in general, thanks for the great video. I do hope to watch many more.
Always when I hear "The Cult" that catapults me back in the late 80ties and to their songs like "Nirvana" and "Rain" and this one "Love removal machine" then comes also Glenn "Danzig"´s second solo Album "Lucifuge" in my mind as well with songs like "Mother" and "Devil´s plaything" and also "Sisters of Mercy"´s album "Floodland" with songs like "This Corrosion" and "Dominion"...all those songs are all connected in my memories of those particular days of middle to late 80ties back then....
michael grabner Those are some seriously badass tracks right there. I hope she reacts to them. Don't forget More by Sisters of Mercy, one of my favorites.
@@danielcoronado5995 Yeah..good song .but is not in the same timeline .."More" appeared a bit later ... I tried to say in my comment that when I hear one of those mentioned songs I automatically think of one of those other mentioned songs By hearing "More" I´ve got other songs that comes in my mind like from The Cult "Fire Woman" or "Sweet Soul Sister" or from "Faith no more" the songs "From out of nowhere" or "Epic" or from "Bad Religion" the song "Sanity" or "No controll" or "Automatic man"....What should I say that´s how my brains respectively my personal memories work by being a time witness.
I was in my tractor this morning scooping up cow shit with the Sisters blasting on the stereo. Danzig sistinas live is a good hymn too. Have you heard a band called Thatcher On Acid, they have a song called Revolution of One, its pretty good.
@@chinesesloppyplop Yeah I know them and the song...But in order to know them therefore a particular knowledge of Punk music is needed..while all my mentioned bands were in the late 80ties/early 90ties almost mainstream able to see on Music TV shows/channels as well.
Most underrated rock solo ever. Hell, Billy Duffy is *probably* the most underrated rock guitarist to boot, because so few of The Cult’s songs afforded him opportunities to show his aptitude for the blues scale, like in this track.
I've been listening to this song since the mid 80s. Not sure what its about but it sounds great and it's a cool name for a song. Also, Billy Duffy is one of the most underrated guitarist in rock.
Now that's an interesting comment. The Cult gets lots of airplay on two Sirius XM channels, Hair Nation and First Wave so they were definitely a tough band to pigeon hole into a genre.
OK finally you have found my favorite band and my favorite song! I like their style, too! SUBSCRIBED! I absolutely love watching all these young people discovering my generations music. I think you're awesome, India. Keep rockin'!
Back in the '80's, the Cult were the one band that headbangers in leather and goths in trench coats could both get behind. It's kind of surprising that they weren't a lot bigger than they were
These guys were all over my jams when I was young. Loved seeing you jam to them. They did also have some tight ass britches. Yeah I was never sure what the song meant but I sort of thought she removed it haha loved the reaction. Wildflower is a good one too along with all the others you mentioned. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. 💗✌
The first time I heard this song, back when it was brand new, it changed my conception of The Cult from being a sort of harder edged goth group to a straight up hard rock head banger type of group along the lines of AC/DC.
I always thought of this song like this person does sooo much to his soul and emotions in many different ways...that to ever get over all that he'd need a LOVE REMOVAL MACHINE cause he would need ssomething strong and powerful to get the person out of his soul and system...they would need to event something strong like that, cause he's sooo deep into this person. 😏... I mean, come on, this person is described as a "SOUL SHAKER!"...Guuurl!
Welcome to The Cult. There is no other. They were so much more than other 80's bands. Imagine this song in your headphones, loud, as you ski at night. Full blast.
Watching India react to a good song is like icing on the cake. This has a lot of elements of what makes a good rock song. So glad you found a band you appear to like so much.
The first time I ever heard them I thought the same thing. What Led Zeppelin would sound like if Jim Morrison had got the lead singing gig instead of Robert Plant.
Lead singer Ian Astbury did sing for the Doors during their live shows in 2002. They had to change the name to "The Doors of the 21st Century" for legal reasons.
YES YES YES! I'm so glad your digging The Cult - your AWESOME- please do Lil Devil and Wildflower and Rain - I'm so excited seeing this bless your heart
I’ve seen The Cult in concert a number of times over the years. Every time I’ve seen them, they’ve always closed their shows with this song. They’re shows are always so fun and energetic!
India, thanks for this. Went to the Baltimore civic center in 1987 for the electric tour when this released. The intensity of that show left me exhausted and so pumped up when the show was done it was an experience like few other concerts I have experienced. Your reaction is a sample of a few hours of just good old ass kicking Rick and roll that's intense and fun...... cheers!
"love removal machine", ... like Ian said, meant like, he has all this love inside, we all do......but it pours out only at certain times........ ,like the feeling riding his motorcycle, it was like a machine that let his love pour out.....a lover, a hot rod, a surfboard,,,whatever it is, is a "machine" or a "thing" to pull that Love out of us.....and on that night, he met a true "love removal machine"'........thats my opinion
I think you’d like their song She Sells Sanctuary. That was the song that introduced me to this band. Big dance hit back in the day. Love your reactions! Keep it up! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I saw them on the electric tour back in 87, was awesome! They really are one of my faves and always will be, you should definitely do a reaction to rise by the cult!!;
Greatest song ever PERIOD. My 19 year old daughter knows every word to this song so I know I'm parenting correctly. Thanks for giving one of the most underrated bands a listen!
In an interview with Ian “back in the day” he said the he had no idea what a “love removal machine “ was. He admitted to writing most of the lyrics while drunk...
So Many good songs!! when The Doors Got back together for a show in I think 2003 Ian was picked to sing for Jim. They couldn’t have picked a better substitute!! Yes “Edie Caio Baby” is one of my favorites.
I've been in love with Ian Astbury for years! This band is a feast for the eyes and ears! Please do "Edie " next, a song written about Andy Warhols beautiful muse who died tragically young
Oh man! So when you read that he thinks of his motorcycle as a LOVE REMOVAL MACHINE...That's deep! Feels like IAN is saying that when that person he is way into really starts hitting all his feels, he jets on his. Love Removal Machine and rides the F away from his feels...So, that machine he needs to remove her from his soul is just getting on his bike and leaving all those feels behind...On to the next destination...Kinda like the life of a Rockstar...You are always on the go and when deep feels hit you, you can't stay long. 😪🥺
Great revew of a great song from a great album by a great band at the top of their game. The meaning of most of the lyrics of the songs on Electric are veiled but great. The Cult - Sweet Soul Sister
Great song. American horse and Soul Asylum are good too.
“Wild Flower” is a pretty kick a$$ song as well.... like many people have already said this whole album “Electric” rocks.
