My favourite thing about this skin is how it turns her communication through vague magic into telepathic mind invasion. Her going from "oh, can hear me? nice" to " you WILL listen to me" is just great.
I agree, besides it's the only skin that she can actually laugh (the other skins just play a little nice song)
I see her keeping the tech around as a way of mocking those that tried to contain her. A sorta “Yeah I broke out, and now I’m gonna beat you up with your own stuff!” Just my own opinion on it though

This skin really gives me Elfen lied vibes specially with her having a bound and unbound form so it remains uncontested as the best Sona skin for me

Funny; I just commented that this Sona skin reminded me of SIlas...similar backstories, and all.

Maybe Muse, for being just so uninteresting, or Sweetheart for being Sona, but with hearts motif...? None of her skins look terrible to me in concept, maybe only bland and/or not original
Wow, I never knew how cool this skin actually is (granted, I don't play a lot of Sona) and she totally just keeps the containment unit with her as something she has appropriated.

I do not know if it is underrated skin or not but for me it is such a good skin the first time I saw this skin I literally said to myself I should buy this skin.
I have this skin and I can say I feel like a badass every time I use it, my favorite too by far

It's a cool and good skin but those elements do admittedly drag it down a little
The machinery around her is called the Geist Unit and I believe she's directly linked to it. When she places wards, she states that she's creating a link between the Geist Unit and the ward. I think it's also how she communicates with people telepathically? I believe it acts as a focus for that immense power of hers.

I think the use of containment unit is to provide the same message as Sylas petricite cuffs. By giving the whole idea that their literal chains are now the weapons of revolution
hope star guardian rell comes out before you get to her, it would kinda suck to only have one skin to "compear"
I count 18 champions between Sona and Rell; two videos per champion plus Sona's worst skin is 37 days. According to the first thing I found on Google, the new Star Guardian skins are probably hitting in either 21 or 41 days, and I imagine Riot will release promo material for the skinline much more than four days ahead of hitting metaphorical stores.

DJ Sona will always be my favorite Sona skin, the DJ Sona concert was my first League skinline cinematic and it’s pretty great.

I have many of her skins and this is the only skin that does it for me, I wear the green chroma and this absolutely crushes the idea of an evolving skin, she captures what it's like to play kayle when you evolve at 6, really makes it feel like you power up and can go blind ward that bush and int without fear
Omg ILY so much, i thought exactly the same. And I'm pretty sad cause i saw a lot of mains and people complaining just wanting a "Star Guardian Sona" when this skin is just one of the best Skins ever.
Can we see more game of Sona+Sera? The aesthetic of their combined abilities is satisfying.
I think sona keeping her restrainment shell after breaking it around her would also serve as her not being aware of her actual strength suggesting she knows vaguely how strong she is and keeps the shell as a way to monitor her power spikes and energy readings or whatchamacallit.
I feel like the containment thing is kept as a way to show that she's now the one in command of it

I feel like keeping the containment unit around is thematically interesting in the sense that she's turning that which was used to suppress her into tools of her own. She has floating chunks of metal to shiels herself, bash enemies with, etc, and she might be so powerful and cunning she turned what was used to contain her into something that even amplifies her power. That's my take!
I love this skin in Theory. It looks great, sounds great and everything. But her gameplay is so unbefitting the Theme. Sona is all about doing little things a LOT, but PsyOps Sona feels awkward with that Gameplay. Shouldve been Syndras Skin
You do have a point. She would be a much better diclonius than her! Hopefully Riot brings the skinline back with her on the front!
Problem is is that sona’s harp… thing is the perfect thing to turn into her restraints in the psyops skin. For syndra, they would have to make a bunch of new restraints which would screw up her silhouette
@@nickmcnally7808 Well, they can still shape her spheres in some way to make it work and swap when she maxes her spells instead of ult since that's how her passive works. So that's not much of a problem in the end. Like her "crown" could be some kind of mask or something related to the 3 balls orbititing around her and get broken when she maxes her q,w,e, revealing her face without ornement or something...
Another fun thing about Psy Ops Sona is that her base skin’s hair is based on the digital singing program Vocaloid’s mascot, Hatsune Miku. She has the long, flowing pigtails that are set far apart, and though they are blue instead of green, I do remember reading that they were inspiration behind her design.
Psy Ops Sona has her hair down, and unleashed I think she bears a STRIKING resemblance to Vocaloid mascot Megurine Luka. Not sure if that’s intentional or not, but I never saw it with the splash art - only now, seeing the in-game model!
Everytime I see this skin it reminds of Kayle, I really like her skins concept where the character stand high and looks down to the us(camera).
I bought this skin because before hitting level 6, Sona looks like Lucy from Elfen Lied when she was in the Research Center
To add why I like this skin a lot, is because I saw in a test video that PsyOps Sona has the most accurate R out of all the skins (the others' animation were a bit higher up or lower than the actual hitbox).
It's so disturbing like the way she gets shocked and forced to dance and stuff.
She keeps the containment unit and monitors around her as a visual reminder thats she’s telekinetic; its gives the feel as though everything around her is floating.

I still have a soft spot for Odyssey Sona but PsyOps is really good
the bottom shape of Odyssey's dress is the only thing that weakens the skin for me. Its still the second best sona skin for me.
I'd assert the containment rig would work as both a inhibitor and a focus for power (and like you said model consistency) so I think it tracks that she would keep it around. Granted that's all speculation.

THIS SKIN TELLS A STORY WHICH I TRULY AM INLOVED, at first when i saw this skin, it didnt actually striked as appealing to me since i thought she is armless and i just hate the colors and stuff...but when i saw her true form I AM CHARMED
PsyOps Sona is so frigging good and if it was just design it would be my favorite Sona skin but the songs for DJ Sona are what give that skin the edge for me although to be fair I love all the skins which have an in-game theme/ music

My thought was after breaking out of containment, she uses her former prison to amplify her powers, sort of like how Sylas uses her chains.

PsyOps Sona works because it actually places emphasis on the Psychic aspect of the skin like, rather than the Spec ops

Fun fact: I used to be a Sona main when I first played League (I think roughly a year after release?) And then I took a long break... After returning (around the time when they had introduced the whole lootbox system) I went into the game, played a few matches and got what I needed to unlock a few boxes.
I am NOT sure if the game reads my mind... or if it set to do this.
But it INSTANTLY gave me two skins for my main Sona (one of them being PsyOps)

Totally forgot this skin, since I don't play Sona at all, I don't memorize her skins, nor does anyone elese ever play her. It's a tragic thing, since this does look cool. But, why I like DJ Sona is not because of the skin itself, but the mechanic of how it affects anyone else around her. I adore listening to her music by tabbing to putting it on whilst playing in the game. It doesn't just feel exclusive to her, but to us as teammates, as well.

Psyops sona, they took her voice.
The only thing i'm kinda disappointed about on this skin are the visual effects - especially the auras around her on her spells. I love taking skins moslty because of how they change not only the model but specifically how their tech and magic look like, but psyops sona isn't much interesting on this side of things, i prefer DJ or Pentakill here.

I'd assume she keeps the containment unit as a sort of shield for herself, which makes sense imo, plus yeah this skin is honestly awesome for Sona. Oddly enough, you could just remove the "etwahl" and it'd look more like syndra to me especially with that long hair
It’d I remember correctly the PsyOps skin line, especially Sona, is based off of the futuristic world of Elfen Lied. Sona being the main character.

I'm 99% sure the PsyOps line was created purely for this amazing skin & it shows.
I love this skin for much of the same "Redefine the character" line. I LOVE the concept of Sona (who is usually presented as a beautiful & peaceful musician) being this all powerful psychic with Elfen Lied vibes, breaking her chains & going loose. Really wish there was some narrative content with this Sona rather than just being a fancy new toy to play with.

I can say why the whole "containment" is kept after she breaks free. It is only about the silhouette. In game champions need to have recognizable silhouette to allow players to distinguish them easily even if they have a skin. That's why Senna will always have her big gun, Viego big sword and Sona her "instrument"
I think of her keeping the machine around her after breaking free as a way of saying fuck you to VIktor.
FINALLY I adore this skin but I think it’s severyly underrated
It's a really neat concept.
The bound Sona form is unsettling and, put correctly in the video, oppressive....it sort of reminds me of Sylas in a way. A shame that "this" version of Sona does not exist in the regular League of Legends universe; it'd make a sweet parallel for those two characters.
Anyway, when you shift to unbound Sona, THEN things get spectacular...the dazzling colors really serve to emphasize that bit of lore that, yes, Sona is almost a demi-goddess of psychic power...and the screwball scientists thought it would be a good idea to imprison her!

would've been really cool if the final form damaged the equipment in some way. have the consoles bent and shorcircuiting, crack the screens, have loose chords and wires trailing behind her, overflowing with her power. That might've been a bit too much though, even for a legendary.
Honestly I love the tech-wank stuff even though its dumb, but specifically in the way psy-ops does it with the visual effect style
