The way Bob Moog pronounced his name was like "rogue." There was a Moog Rogue synth and it would have been silly if they had not rhymed. But, Moog product names did get silly later on. Starting with the Moogerfoogers.
the irony here, I don't believe it is actually even a Moog synthesizer (I've owned, own, played many models over the years) end cheeks almost look micromoog/multimoog like stylistically and on grainy video from a far but, once one gets a better look it reminds me of an old 70s Roland (the end cheeks look very similar to s roland system 102 expander *but, it is not* from the system 100 system, not to be confused with the system 100m modular, there are SH series around this time that share design/build similarities. also the rear panel looks similar to Crumar's layouts, I don't know of any crumar thqt small/withbthat style of end checks though) and Again I do not think it is a moog at all Moog's that small would be mg1, rogue, prodigy, micromoog, which is isn't. I know really doesn't matter too much as it was a gimmick and he never played the gimmick instrument's and likely said "moog" because it was synonymous with "synthesizer" do to Walter/Wendy Carlos's use of the large format modular as well as the common "Moog" album's that were so popular in the late 60s and thru-out the 70s.
kingofallwhites He never got around to playing any of his instruments! (At least not that I ever saw.) :-) I remember him doing clarinet one show, and xylophone another, and all he ever did was sing about how he was going to play them :-) Hilarious.
kingofallwhites I remember one time he came out to play kettle drums. But instead of having a skin across the top, they were filled with milk. Larry started to play them and the milk splashed everywhere!
I am disappointed that I never got to hear him play his Moog think-o-mizer.
My favorite game show ever.
Absolutely
Aww Larry! ... I have it on good authority that he's still trying to play that Moog Synthesizer! ... and xylophone, clarinet, and drums, and...
With the trombone, the slider came apart from the rest of it. With the French horn, he got his hand stuck in it.
"I'm gonna play my size-mooz-a-finker now!" "You can't even say it. How ya gonna play it?" rofl!! I'd forgotten about that one. :)
Larry was one of the most accomplished musicians of our time. BAR NONE !!!!!!
This is chris elliot before there was chris elliot
From 1977.
Man I loved The Gong Show!
I swear, I watched the show, but at times it was so damn corny, You could not help but to laugh!!! LOL LOL LOL
I kept expecting him to grab a pair of sticks and "play" that thing like a drum.
I've seen other clips where he tried to play his trombone and French horn.
Oh so THAT'S what Marc Doty was doing in the 70s...
Damn, The Gong Show was the tits!
At times it literally was...
not even Gary Numan or Kraftwerk would've been able to play that Moog Synthesizer, since it wasn't even plugged in!
Larry Fast the early years.

I get the Moog rhimes with Vogue, but in the spirit of the Moogerfooger, it would be silly to say it as Mogue-er-voguers
Yes, but everybody pronounces it Moooooog.
@@johnny.storm-wolf considering the word the name is a parody of, "moo-foo" makes little sense. "Mo-fo" does.
@@AnthonyMonaghan not "everyone" does.
@@prokesuk That’s right. Absolutely _no one_ who was/is into synthesizers pronounces it that way, lol.
Barris has to be Scott Schwartz dad.
anyone have a clip of larry spencer going to play his snake flute? whatcha gonna do...?!
that is my favorite. I think his laundry was in the basket.
He looks like Stephen Bishop.
Its not plugged in

Wow!! You know your stuff. Thank you.
@null Wrong on both counts. Back to school with you, Clyde.
And it's not plugged in.
Who's the blonde and the guy in the cowboy hat at :41?
That's Chuck Woolery
So did he play it after the break?

This guy was the one thing I hated about this show.
He practiced the comedy rule “repetition is funny.” Eventually, people loved it.

What's to hate? 'Cuz he can play a soog moothathizer and you can't?
Larry was the reason why the show was cancelled
What?
what a disappointment! Here's something to take the sting away: ruclips.net/video/rrlqQ1_vZVE/видео.html
Far too small
