Glad to hear that. I actually have a couple Super Duty blasters BUT today being Black Friday, I'm about to order the 14.5 URGI from Geisselle. I really wish it were like the original ones with the DD barrels but only hearing good things about their current setup. Thanks for the input
I have the super duty and love it… I actually bought the lower receiver, slowly bought the parts on sale, and saved myself a bunch of money. I build it as how Geissele has it besides the Magpul furniture.
I picked up the 14.5 Colt clone URG-I when they were shipping from Brownells a few years back. Came with the DD barrel, Colt upper receiver/BCG, MK12 gas block. Been wanting to pickup up one of the newer ones, and still might soon'ish.

I scored my 11.5 and 14.5 Geissele Super Duty complete uppers FOR ONLY $840 each lol was the deal of the century. And that's why I bought both uppers. And In my opinion the Super Duty are the superior uppers vs the URGI due to the Nanoweapon coating, which is insanely nice. I also use the Super 42/H2 buffer and spring. Nicest uppers I've ever owned. Smooth, reliable, relatively light weight, and MOA capable. They truly are Go-to-war rifles. DUTY rifles in every sense of the word. My Brother has 2 BCMs and a DDM4v7, and I have a 16" Colt 6920(my first ever M4 and it's awesome) and I can tell you straight up the Geissele Super Duty uppers are superior in EVERY SINGLE WAY POSSIBLE OVER BCM,DD and Colt which I consider to be Gold Standard frankly. I would happily take ANY of them to war right now..... But the Geissele are just simply better in every way. And for me were CHEAPER. LOL Turned my old 16in Colt 6920 into an SPR type build with a 2-10, offset 509T and Modlite OKW 11.5 Super Duty with EOTech/magnifier, offset 509T and Cloud Defensive Rein 3.0 14.5 Super Duty is my "Do-it-all" with a 1-6 PST GenII LPVO, offset 509T and Rein 3.0. D WILSON makes surefire adapters. You can get a surefire warden or trainer and have him fabricate it into an adapter. So you can take your other cans and make them surefire compatible. It’s not cheap but the option is there.
I love mine. The balance and feel is awesome. My only complaint is that while shooting with a can it blows gas out from around my gas block. My support hand is covered in carbon after a few rounds.
Great review. You’re the first person I have heard rave about the gassing though. Every other review I have watched talks about how over-gassed it feels.
@@johnkleinfelter8346 I know I’ve seen a handful of people say it. But that might be the case for the only one I can place. Pretty sure one of them was Navy Man
It's meant to be ran with a Super 42/H2 buffer and spring. And it's frankly combat gassed which ain't really a bad thing. And you'll be happy it is when SHTF lol. It's not a competition gun. It's a dedicated combat rifle.
I picked up a gently used URGI 14.5 on GB for $750. For that price, worth it. I will say that my BCM 14.5 groups better, but the URGI is the better overall shooter.
There's a company that will turn a surefire warden into a adapter for any suppressor that you can unscrew the rear cap on. You just send them the thread specs and the warden.
The barrel on the gen 2 is a geissele barrel vs the Gen 1 that is a Daniel defense barrel the gas block and tube are different aswell. The Gen 1 bcg says rebcg on it and is nicer in my opinion other Than that the Gen 2 bolt carrier only says geissele, both are very very good but in my opinion, just my opinion I like and I’m More Accurate with the Gen 2 , with the geissele barrel, the one on this video.
Not the same as super duty. The receiver and hand guard are keyed to one another on the pic rail, smaller gas port on super duty barrel, Huxwrx muzzle device. Only thing that’s the same really is the erbcg, charging handle even though the uppers look almost the same
Why do you flip your rifle to the left to try to let the empty magazine fly off when you reload? Why not just let the empty mag drop free naturally by gravity when you push thecmag release? Its an extra additional step when you flip your rifle to reload
If you were smart you would a grabbed a Super Duty, which are the superior uppers frankly and I got my 11.5 and 14.5 complete uppers for only $840/ea last black Friday
@@mrdark9916 no doubt but already have a few of them. Just wanted the URGI but fighting with "mamma" about it HEHEHEHE. Those SD rifles really are fine shooters Brother. They're definitely my go-to blasters.
Yo man love the channel, keep it up…I love this upper and hope mine turns out as good as yours. Have you had any issues with barrel rust or accuracy? I was reading through Reddit forums and in 2022 people are bashing the G barrels and showing pics of surface rust
Mabey if they do no maintenance whatsoever lol. I agree a different coating woulda been nice but I live in North Idaho and I take my Super duties out in snow. Rain, Sleet ECT and have no problems. I just take the rail off on occasion and clean/give it a thin layer of oil for protection , and it's fine.
Cosmetically, the URGI doesn't have any branding or markings on the rail or charging handle. Only subdued NSN numbers. Functionally, the URGI has a different profile barrel and the gas port is slightly larger than the SD. Reason for this is to allow for more gas and energy to run thru the action. It adds a touch of additional felt recoil but makes the rifle more reliable in adverse conditions. Sand/dust/dirt/carbon is less likely to cause a malfunction due to the increase in gas pressure.
Heats up a little faster, cools off way faster. The RIS II took a few more min of abuse before becoming uncomfortable to hold but it stayed hot much longer than the MK16 rail.
The mil is getting kits with a barrel mk12 gas DD chfcl (honestly a Noveske or centurion would been better in materials I know but they probably have a Contract with Daniel Dad they’re using whatever for however many years it may be their barrels might become the colt m4/16 standard instead The military is keeping even they’re fucked up chipped painted in taupe partially because the military is cheap too if they have a good to go matched set that is a tight fit And everything lined up properly no gap they’re gonna go with that the armors are told by whoever in their chain of command what to do and I’m sure they have a new uppers is say there’s like severe damage from a double triple feeds with M855A1 For example they might as well about upper but it’s not fully built from them the military on Mars do everything selves and the barrel is dimple because they normally do not pin the gas blocks like an FSP though many companies are doing that now as a failsafe against loose setscrews which is one of the biggest issues people have I do think the rails design could’ve been in hand still little bit and add the block sections I don’t wanna say like farther away from each other but the inside there’s not much space do you have to be careful mounting whether it be a light anything MLOK sample I put a dual fuel certified on and was not able to mount it where I wanted because your midline gas log at that 2nd to 3rd location In Mlok slots it was making contact with the gas block which seriously degrade your accuracy How is put together properly fairy tight you can basically deadbolt the set screws it into the upper receiver if you take your rail on an awful lot them naturally do that but the lock up is so tight it Hass to be even with it has to capture bolts walking the rail and a dog bone not on the other side and then externally you have your traditional anti-rotation terms of sad and the left and right and then with the set screws just don’t over tighten Angie make sure you use something like it could be a simple as that unity mount or something to bridge the gap to keep the rail straight when installing and as long as you use a little bit of Loctite you don’t need to seriously tighten your set screws as many feel safe side say a lot of billet rifles you don’t see the antirotation system because there is a rod that is drilled above Gasport in the upper in the rail and slips in like radian and Noveske but then again they have that on their gym one with uppers but we didn’t does the exact same thing but this rail system is in very very snow I did and OD of the barrel night in the rail is like .000 one it’s very snug fit for a reason… you really don’t see many being trained with you know I live next-door to a future general and this guy who is a colonel right now says he’s issued still the standard FSP M4 like infantry still mk18 m4 ris 2 and yeah geissele has a contract but he would take him off of a time to do every military armory war even if it’s a no I think it’s meant for like tier 2 type personnel honestly but you guys still running attend to me even though people argue about ballistics and then there’s the Dam Neck DEVGRU 10.5 Noveske gen 3 billet upper forged lower in a very nice gold color and they were running them with 416 or stainless barrels which I have one and they’re running them in 300 blackout which I have in my radian and they’re also running 556 in 10.5 most likely they’re issued to uppers and a lower and they’re running Sandman S so honestly right now the military is being very modular and what they’re using their using all sorts of shit a lot of HK and regular USMC units there’s a new HK DMR not the IAR not the 417 but a doc setup from hk and for accuracy so i’m not sure the barrel but I know it’s got to be a match barrel for sure as it’s in designated marksman and short barrel it’s a 16.3 in 762 A5 style set ambi using bunch of Highland like Schmidt and bender Night force Sig Others and I’d go top mount Red dot and offset irons and it is using a geissele rail there’s a large variety of different firearms that are popping up every day that had fucking an ass and numbers and shit like that and P/N that may have been contracted if they about the military they can or government in general they can say fuck that contract the wipe their ass with even though you may have said all right we’re going to supply 100,000 new setups and ur at 30 thousand so you never now going back to having way too many different calibers 556 300 blackout the new round we got 6.8 we got 338 normal 338 Lappula 50 BMG have 4.6 x 30 we have 5.7 FM they have all sorts of shit 308 new high pressure 6.5 x 51 or whatever the fuck it is from dif it’s a lot of logistics and just ammo and a lot of new ammo specialized in different types of the same ammo and yeah just think about all the calibers then you have small arms there’s guys carry 45 cal 9mm i’m thinking of SideArm I was honestly like the 5.7 with an extended magazine has it 20 rounds of rifle speed rounds But light 9 mm and 45 can do that word things like liberty or Underwood Lehigh ect but I’d wanna carry a staccato 9mm and an FN can actually hit out to 150 200 it’s a fast mover I digress my god
