Shot mine (11.5) out to 500yd with red dot and it’s really impressive… 200/300 is boringly easy. Great accuracy from such a short barrel… also zero malfunctions. Good stuff, review is right on

No… turn the dot low on MRO , sitting position… 8-9/10 @ 500, set dot on top of head and hit middle to low center mass…200/300 is just dead on…I also have the open tine war comp but putting the rc2 in future… 55gr 556 btw
I bought a Spear LT pistol in 7.62x39 and form 1'd it because I wanted a short barreled rifle with ballistics that didn't suck. It also needed to be able to run a suppressor without any tuning to the gun itself. I used to be primarily an AK shooter, but I'm not going back.
My Spear LT is my favorite rifle I own, and I think it'll be a long time before something else comes around that is that good, for me at least.. At some point I may consider a .300 blackout upper.

Yup. I got the same thing from the ATF. My form 4 was submitted back in June and excepted in July. Called back in early Feb. Was told it was delayed via NICS. Emailed multiple people at the ATF, sent multiple emails to the NICS Liaison. My can was approved two days ago. It was 262 days from the time it was placed in process. One of my best friends... 14 days for approval.
Love the honest review. Not easy to over talk a new fun gidgit.

This really is the sexiest gun out there. I already know this gun won’t give me what I’m personally looking for right now, but I keep coming back to it and trying to talk myself into buying it, which is almost entirely because of how it looks lol.

I really don't see why this is $2800 when it does everything an ar-15 does with less reliability than a SCAR. Just buy a decent AR. If it's DI throw a superlative arms bleed-off gas block and it'll run cleaner and smoother than a piston gun.
My fiancé bought an LT .300 blk Spear from the gunshop I work at. When I reached out to Sig about the taper adapter, the guy pretty curtly told me I had to buy one from their site. I guess it depends on the particular day...
Would love to do a custom 300 blk barrel in this. 11.5” would be a great general purpose rifle.

i love mine, similar setup except with the SIG can. a bit front heavy for a 11.5, but shoot super smooth suppressed, easy follow up shots, almost like a cheat code. but at the end of the day, u start to feel the unbalance weight distribution

I still think the HK is cool but now with the intention of chopping it down to 11.5 so for the money the spear is better IMO...
All AR-15 charging handles feel like the Spears pretty much.. i changed mine out for a Radian Raptor charging handle on my Spear.

According to “Tim” at Sig Sauer CS, I was “incorrect” about being able to request a taper adapter. He was more than happy to let me know I could purchase one off the website. CS sure ain’t what it used to be.

Bought my LT in a 16” and loving it.
I’m one of those weird guys though that buys piston for its reliability, not accuracy.
Not sure what you mean by previous parts aren’t compatible, but the piston system is virtually the same. Anyone can drop a virtus barrel and bcg in their spear lt and vice versa. The barrel profile is just different on the spear lt.
You can drop a virtue upper on a spear lt lower, or “put your virus on ozempie bois” and drop a spear lt upper on a virtus lower.
Sorry for not being more clear, for full disclosure I do not own an old Virtus but for guys wanting to convert their Virtus to the Spear LT the handguards are not interchangeable. The handguard being the biggest and most desired change for most previous gen one and two owners from what I’ve heard and read.

Man awesome video. I've been tinkering with my 11.5 Spear LT in 5.56 for a few weeks now. Any quick, at home tips for the sliding brace? I see a few aftermarket options, but would prefer something simple and do-able from home. That weird rotating brace is my only real complaint on this gun, so far.
I run mine with a rein 3.0 light, griffin hrt556 and the eotech with g45 magnifier on unity mounts. Loving it so far, but about to build an LMT rifle to compare it to soon.

First video and impressed, subscribed with in 5 min. Curious what you think. For the price point, would you go with a 16inch LWRC ICA5, geissele super duty, or 16inch spear ? All around the same ish price point, sorta torn. Looking for some 2nd opinions
I'd get the Geissele 14.5 urgi near clone with the pinned Surefire 4P. I have the Spear LT (will be selling eventually), had a MR556, had a LWRC a long time ago. The URGI is so much lighter that I can carry it around longer and load it up with more gear. The Spear also seems harsher in recoil and is way 'gassier' when running with a silencer

Unity mount is excellent. What are your thoughts on the Unity proprietary 4x magnifier, which will be released in the next few months? It should be more compact and lighter and could also be more affordable.

sky high sights in combination with a cheek riser.
I bought a cmmg dissent instead, doesn’t feel chinchy when charging it.
I will stick with my KAC 11.5, BGDefense Type A 11.5 Contractor piston; ADM mod 2 CORE 11.5. Sig is not my cup of tea overall as I prefer other manufacturers. The Sig Soear is overpriced compared to other manufacturers offerings. Besides there has been too many problems with the Sig Spear including barrel shift and magazine over insertion issues. The only Sigs I own is my Legion P226 SAO, P320 Spectre Comp BO, P210 Target, and MPX. The only Sig I have bought in the last year was the Spectre. I likely will buy many guns over the next year…none of which will be Sigs.

do u think performance would suffer a lot going with the RC2 Mini instead of the full size RC2?
Just to be clear, performance of the suppressor (sound and flash) or performance of the rifle?
SureFire recommends the Mini 2 on barrel lengths of 14.5" and up. However, I've run mine on as small as a 10.3" barrel and it's been very good to me. On 11.5"-12." It will be even better. So for the Speat LT in 11.5", if I had one, I'd run it. You'll lose a little bit of sound suppression and maybe get a little bit more flash but you'll experience less back pressure compared to the RC2.

Why is the Magnifyer moved in different positions throughout the entro?
During the review, I was still messing with its position to see where I like it for the eye relief also if it’s too far back the charging handle is slightly obstructed.. I was still experimenting although I found the sweet spot by the end of the review.

Adds 1.93 riser, then adds a cheek piece so you can get a proper cheek weld. Why not simply not use the riser so that a normal height stock can be used?
Passive aiming with NV is the main reason but also far more comfortable to shoot with a riser when wearing kit or slick honestly IMO...
@@RangeDayBro JMHO, You're talking less than 1/2 inch. Raise the gun to your face. The only difference is where the buttstock hits your shoulder. Use standard height sights and raise the gun 1/2" in your shoulder pocket and get a good cheek weld.
Now, with NV, helmets, big earpro, etc, I can see the need for more clearance between your face and the stock and your gun so in that case maybe higher sights might be justified. But in that case, putting a higher cheek piece on the stock defeats the purpose.

Nope, I didn't touch the gas block during the review. It stayed on the (-) setting the whole review both unsuppressed and suppressed.
How different is the pitch and tone on this platform suppressed vs say the mk18?
I have the 11.5 spear LT, 10.3 Mk18, and an 11.5 Urgi. They sound the same to me with the RC2, but the spear LT shoots more gas in my face (lefty), and I can tune the buffer on the AR15 lowers to have less recoil
now form 4s taking hours lol
