To add to my other comment, your attention to detail is VERY appreciated. I helps immensely to have someone who speaks to details articulately. Most GunTubers do not go into much detail, and tend to not focus on the small things, which makes a difference! Thank you.

I really appreciate the feedback, I don’t know if you’re aware of the channels Brass Facts or Hop, but their channels really inspire me.
I would like this channel to be a place that people can trust for real world down earth “I’m not an operator” opinions. Which I believe going into detail is what separates some channels from others.

@osprey-agency Did you mess with the sound of the suppressor shots in post production? It sounds like the sounds have been drawn out a bit in the clips. Leaving the footage raw would be ideal if you did mess with the sound in post for this video. Just a suggestion, still a great video, man. 👍

I've built a Spear LT out one almost identical, minus a few small differences. My current build is the Multicam Custom Works version of the Sig Sauer MCX Spear LT 11.5" 5.56mm, with the skeletonized Sig "Kate Moss" folding stock, SC Irregulars Special K pistol grip, Aimpoint CompM5 on a Reptilia 1.93" mount, a Eotech G43 magnifier/Unity Fast mount, SC Irregulars MRC Modular Rail Covers both thin and standard/3.1" & 2.5", SC Irregulars MHS Modular Hand Stop & MBS Modular Barricade Stop, Modlite PLHv2 with a SC Irregulars MPSC Modular Pressure Switch Cover, NGAL, Surefire SOCOM SB2 556 suppressor in FDE. This build immediately followed by Staccato P X-Series, Surefire XVL2 IRC, Aimpoint ACRO P-2 pistol build so the month of April done blew a hole in my wallet. Actually though, my Spear build after the cost of the initial rifle, was almost entirely comprised of orphaned parts that I had going unused at the time. Not having to buy the optics/magnifier or their mounts, all the SC Irregulars parts and accessories that I've been collecting waiting for the perfect 10.5"-11.5" rifle to build out a Spear version of the Noveski/SC Irregulars Chainsaw 10.5" "Slade AR", and the Surefire suppressor which I'd recently certified my eForm 4 along with one for a Surefire Ryder 9 Ti that I'd just purchased in late March for my SP-5, and the NGAL that I transferred from my Sig Sauer MCX Virtus. I'm a 5.56 guy, so when I saw the Spear LT multicam version, I knew that was going to be the rifle to host my SC Irregulars accessories. It's turned better than expected.

Im guessing your an IT professional or upper/middle management. I commend you on ability to deliver excellent info in a tight precise way. No fluff and love the sideways shoutout to Mike Garand Thumb with the "Tip to butt". Excellent weapon system. I have the MCX upper in 300blk and am waiting for my tax stamp for sbr and cans. While waiting I got a CMMG Dissent pistol in 5.7 and love it. I too want to have an armory but no funds and no place to shoot long rifles locally. Im looking into my own land but jobs hard to find right now.

      @osprey-agency  7 месяцев назад +2

Wow do I feel seen! Lol how you were able to discern that from my video is impressive! You are correct my background is in IT and I am upper management 😁.
CMMG makes some solid stuff! I’ve never shot anything in 5.7 so I imagine that’s a lot of fun to shoot.
The MCX is a great platform for multiple caliber uppers, I recently cut a 300blk barrel from my previous Virtus to work with the Spear LT so it’s a great combo I plan to do a video at some point!
As far as a job keep at it man it’s bad all over - but the thing I tell myself when I’m looking for new opportunities is it only takes one person to say yes. just keep going until you get that yes.

Great video man! I own a spear lt in the 16 inch variation. I really want to get a .300 blackout upper for it and run my suppressor with it. I do have a radian model one and chambered in .300 blackout, so I’m not sure if dropping the money would be worth it to just have on the MCX platform.

Thank you for the feedback and appreciate the view and comment!
So really what I’ve come to learn generally speaking is the mission should drive the build. I unfortunately learned that a little late lol. Short story long I bought the Virtus a year or so ago in 556 and then bought a 16inch 300BLK barrel for it, I recently bought the LT Spear and found out the virtus barrels are backwards compatible- so I got the 300BLK barrel cut for the spear that’s already an SBR and kept the 16 inch 556 for the Virtus. If I had it to do all over again I would’ve just had 1 upper with a 556 16 inch barrel and a 10.5 inch 300BLK barrel.
      Just my cheap 2 cents!

  • @vmpgsc

Nice vid. Yeah, the transition from building cool rifles to actually having to use them on the clock is eye-opening. "Nice to have" capabilities get sidelined and you quickly focus down on what you really need for 99% of your shooting. And weight - weight gets a much bigger vote after wobble-zoning your way through a half hour of offhand shooting. :)

With that being said the CTR usually goes on the traditional buffer tube and not the skinner more square attachment for the MCX adjustment stocks. Is there a piece of info that I'm missing that allows you to use regular stocks on the platform while still using the MCX stock rod, or am I mistaken and you have always been able to put regular stocks on that rod, or is it a special adaptation or specific CTR model of stock I need to buy.

Why would you want a suppressor that sparks as much as that? Much better options out there than that can. Loud AF also. My Sandman K with the 556 endcap has much better flash mitigation and is quieter than that can.

Lots of suppressors have lots of different use cases, low back pressure is a high priority for me as I use it on multiple hosts and it mitigates gas well.
Sparking isn’t an issue as it doesn’t do that long term and has no impact for me. I have multiple cans that are good for various hosts this is just one.
I’m glad yours works for your particular setup though, just keep in mind it’s like saying “why not buy a truck, my Ford Raptor is awesome for me.” I’m sure it is- but my needs are specific to a sports car application needs.

@@osprey-agency There is no use for a suppressor that sparks like that, and it won't go away with time. I have 5 suppressors including low back pressure ones that don't spark like that, or else I wouldn't buy them.

Well according to people who actually own and use these in a regular basis they have had a different experience, but you clearly have a wealth of knowledge and are an expert beyond my capabilities, Thanks for sharing!

    There’s no Ventum 5.56, only a 7.62/30 caliber. You’re just shooting it on a 5.56, with a 5.56 end cap perhaps?
