Once upon a time, Ritchie Blackmore was the greatest guitar player on earth. None reached his heels at the time of Scandinavian Nights and Made in Japan. What he did, he did his way and everybody stared at him in admiration. What happened next? As with Page, Box, Eddie, Angus and the whole pack of heroes, he also got older - the sparkling of Blackmore faded. He was still good. He still had the "backmorish" thing going on - the feeling no other could copy. I still love that. Still a king.
Master of the masters !
Richie's style is unmistakable. I could recognize him among millions.
the greatest guitarist, musician who i have ever listened to.....
I see some people dislike Richie. That do'nt matter to me .This is,nt probably the best of his but I've listened to him for a long time and he excites me as a player more than any other
oh my god,,, even my tears is crying!!! this is freekkin awesome!!!!!!
I feel exactly the same about Blackmore! His "Pictures of Home" solo brings tears to my eyes and Machine Head is the reason I picked up the guitar when I was 11yo. Malmsteen is the perfect successor for Ritchie, every note he picks he's paying homage to the Master.
Happy birthday Richie Blackmore...!!! You are a living inspiration for a whole generation of musicians...!!!
I toured w/ ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow for a few months back in the early eighties and even prior to that he was a major influence on me and my playing. Looks like he went balls to the wall for this DP reunion-thanks for sharing this gem.
So beautiful.
Thank you, its nice to hear from someone with sense. Long live Rock N Roll. Blackmore is one of the best.
Sadly rock and roll dying.
incredible!!

Yes, the master in action.
WOW...POWERFUL!
Chapeau! He's one of the best!
Always the best.
Deep Purple - the best rock of all times, Ritchie Blackmore was the brain and one of the best guitar players.......
He makes it look so easy, effortless, that's why he's the best!

gran amante de la musica clasica
Gents I was watching Deep Purple concert back in 1973.For information Blackmoore was declared in 1974 as the best rock guitarust on the world.Regards
The guitarist who inspired hundreds of thousands that will admit it. And millions that know that they picked something up from Ritchie but won't admit it. He's godly, no one before or after is as great as Ritchie. Dude can play any style and with a strat
My favourite guitarist....
Richie Blackmore is amazing. No doubt About It!
Einer der Größten!
Dude this guy is amazing
I think i'm going to go buy a deep purple and rainbow cd
Ritchie Blackmore is my all times favourite guitarplayer :D
Blackmore makes it look so easy. All the great ones do.
I second that.
Ritchie Blackmore is an excellent guitarist... I love watching all these old video's of Ritchie wailing away... He may not have been the easiest guy to work with & he may have had a big fat ego but no one can dispute the fact that he is a talented guitarist....
I almost cry when I think about Richie Blackmore who lost his mind and don't even play this music anymore. Sad world!
....the best !!!
Very, very true Ritchie's amazing
Wow ! what more can i say ?
Damn, I LOVE BLACKMORE!
page, best guitarrist ever!
Ritchie = Power Guitar, plain -n-simple !
As far as I'm concenred, no one else comes close. I wish I could have seen him live in his heyday.
the best rock composer of all time!!!!
People don't truely understand how good Blackmore was!!!! EVH,SRV,Vai, etc are great but haven't really listen to the less advertised guitarist. Love Blackmore as a guitarist. My favorite is Jeff Beck but these guys are the ones who paved the rock guitar sounds in the 60's & 70's.
Lo mejor que escuche en mis 55 años, imprecionante.Viva la Fender strato.
Д п Блэкмор и вся компания это сила спасибо что вы есть
Ritchie the best!
lol loved the xmas bit :))
Ritchie Blackmore: a guitar legend!!!!
Blackmore is the KING!!!
ROCK RITCHIE ROCK
Para mí es uno de los 5 mejores
🤘❤️
he is a great guitar player
i ve listened carefully and again i truly believe that he is a guitar god
Its not called "Deep Purple Mk 2 reunion - Live in Paris".
I found out, that it was the Perfect Stranger concert, and bought it.
Great concert.
best guitar player in the world
the best guitar players in the story of rock!
IMHO Dave Gilmore produces the most melodic, thoughtful solos I've ever heard from any rock guitarist. He's like the antithesis of a shredmaster. So many guitarists seem focused on how many notes they can fit into a single bar, with no thought for how the solo should complement the song.
Blackmore is amazing!!just like alot of other players..but he's def in the top !!!
innovative
have to agree his hand movement was so fluid, reminded me exactly of how I play myself....on my car door as I drive, to whatevers playing in the cd player..
shall he ever rock again like he does here?!
Offcours "The Rainbow Experience" brings us (and him back) to his '16th Century Greensleeves', but this is Ritchie in optima forma!
;-)
Ritchie blackmore is the god of metal rock!!
BRAVO MAESTRO.ALILUJA.JOVO Page
Blackmore is THE SHIT man!
An influence on my playing!
Who cares if he makes a few errors, it's called LIVE PLAYING!
I can't believe he's 60 now!
@beggarhipnotized Absolutely right!!!
Blackmore and Rory Gallagher, Page and Angus Young. They are legends
Yeah he play very good and fast
I wish he'd play like that nowdays
well fact is that everybody picks from everybody you don't have one guitarist who didn't so that's a discussion, still I like the solo's from Ritchie Blackmore, like all great guitarists he likes to give it his all and just goes all the way at solo's no holding back
fuck yeah he was!
Agreed.
jimmy page is bettterrr!!!like butter! hukhukkhuk , jimmy page is king of guitar!
For me it’s Ritchie, Rory Gallagher, Duane Allman, and Randy Rhoda’s, strange grouping but those guys fucking moved me like no others.
highway star love the best song of the world machin head the best album of deep purple and of the world
Ritchie IS the man, accept NO substitue!
Blackmoure is real very very very good
he plays without looking,
he really mastered the art of guitar
@nandolfo Amen!!
блекмор легенда гитары навсегда
He is one of the Guitar god
I can understand that, page and blackmore sometimes don't come off well live (but everyone has off days), however I have seen lots of footage where especially ritchie is on fire, sometimes literally. As for schenker well strangers in the night by UFO is a testament to his awesome live playing.
ritchie, angus and perry, best players ever
all hail blackmore.
@GonzoAddams true that sir
@egoran181 He will always be!
@ronimatos90 thanks
shows how good Purple were when they first reformed.
and if you want great solos
with Deep Purple: Child in Time, April, Highway Star, Lazy, Burn, Knocking at Your Back Door, Gypsy's Kiss.
with Rainbow: Gates of Babylon, Kill the King, Light in the Black, Stargazer, Catch the Rainbow (live).
with Blackmore's Night (yes, i'm serious): Fires at Midnight, The Storm.
i might forgot some, it's hard to remember all, but these are more than enough xD
he wears the strings in when he puts them on, uses a floyd rose bridge so that it locks the strings when hes using the whammy bar, and hes an amazing player so he knows how much of a bend will untune his guitar, so he doesnt bend TOO far, he uses the whammy bar to do most of the bends
ricthie blackmore is cool
Joey Tempest - Vocals, rhythm guitar
John Norum or Kee Marcello - Lead guitar
John Levén - Base guitar
Ian Haugland - Drums
Mic Michaeli - Keyboards
Ok sound (nothing sour and no empty can -sound), Melody, Rhythm, Feeling, Touch and finally Technique.
one note.
look up John Norum solos and Kee Marcello solos and you might discover something...
Richie is the father of shred. Nuff said.
Ritchie and Rory are the best....
For me, of course.....
I do , The last one is a conversation piece he installed to annoy people.
@deepcosco even in Rainbow he play true Hard Rock...
One thing I like about Blackmore is his phrasing. It does not show in this clip but his solos are melodic and have phrasing unique to him. Some of his solos are simple but the timing and phrasing is great. I also think his rhythm playing is very good for the same reasons and is over looked - apart from the 'bah bah bah / bah bah bah-bah riff' (you know the one!) . Thats 2 things I like about him then. Beck - Blackmore forget it... want controversy? Blackmore - Malmsteen! Discuss! Stand back.
1. Ronnie James Dio on vocals.
2. Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar.
3. Joey De Maio on bass.
4. Tuomas Holopanien on keyboard.
5. Cozy Powell on drums.
And yes I am aware that Blackmore, Dio and Powell were in Rainbow together. That is why Rainbow are my all time favourtie band and Rainbow Rising is my favourite album.
loveing great artists is never gay, a musician is a gift to us all, And when great musicians get to gether were all blessed,
Music is non sexual and even non species, I have seen Orchas that mimic Steve Vai, Another great gutarist and artist,
No clue where to buy this god damn dvd
